extract to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Risk of Rain 2\Risk of Rain 2_Data\Managed
finally, open console with ctrl+alt+~ and type 'sv_maxplayers 6' before you go into character select

you're done. MAKE SURE PEOPLE ONLY CONNECT IN CHARACTER SELECT- ELSE IT WON'T WORK
