  3. >Lavan
  4. "Ponies"
  5.
  6. >So what are we doing?
  7.
  8. "We're demanding answers!"
  9.
  10. >Oh wonderful! What are the questions?
  11.
  12. "Are we being invaded?"
  13.
  14. >Oh, that's an important question.
  15.
  16. "Have we been duped?"
  17.
  18. >I hope we haven't!
  19.
  20. "What else are the Princesses keeping from us!?"
  21.
  22. >Cake. Lots and lots of cake. I'd eat some but it'd melt in my mouth. It'd melt in my hand too but I don't have those...I should really see about getting them back. They seem important.
  23.
  24. "What are you talking abou-? ..."
  25.
  26. >Hi, I'm Lavan. I'm talking about cake.
  27.
  28. "AAAAAAAAHHHHHH!"
  29.
  30. Ka-flee!
  31.
  32. >...I hope I answered your question, nice pony! Being of service, this pleases me. Ooh! It appears ponies are besieging that small building over there! I will go observe this! Maybe they need their sticks ignited for a proper torch! Mob mentality, this pleases me too.
  33.
  34. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________
  35.
  36. >Dadling
  37. "Batmom"
  38. ~~
  39.
  40. >...what are you doing?
  41.
  42. "Have you seen my good sword? I thought I left it right here."
  43.
  44. >No, seriously, what are you doing?
  45.
  46. "Honey, there is a riot. Where there are riots, usually I have to go out and do my job. Now, I know, your perception is a little skewed because I didn't do anything the last times, but that was because I had a baby in me. The baby is out. She's right over in the crib and everything."
  47.
  48. >You're seriously going out there!?
  49.
  50. "That is my job, yes."
  51.
  52. >B-but... b-but...
  53.
  54. "Honey? Don't worry, we have an amazing security system. Absolutely nobody is going to come anywhere near this house, you or the baby. Or, if they do, you can shoot them. With lasers. Legally in the face even!"
  55.
  56. >But...
  57.
  58. "Ohhh, Sweetie, I know. You want me to stay here and protect you both, but this is my job. This is what I'm supposed to do. When Equestria is in danger, I'm supposed to rush off and save the day, that's my job! I know, you want me to stay, I know, you want to come even, but it's too dangerous to come with and I can't leave it alone. I'm sorry, but I can't stay."
  59.
  60. >But...
  61.
  62. "Don't worry, I'll be back soon. And, just to tell you, if anyone even tries to approach... shoot the motherfuckers."
  63.
  64. *Cheeksmooch!*
  65.
  66. "Love you!"
  67.
  68. *SLAM!*
  69.
  70. >...wait for it... waiiiiiit for it....
  71.
  72. *SLAM!*
  73.
  74. "I am still wearing the Little Red Riding Hood outfit, aren't I?"
  75.
  76. >The bottomless one, yes.
  77.
  78. "...Tonight was a bad night for roleplay night."
  79.
  80. >Could've been better, yeah.
  81.
  82. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________
  83.
  84. >Pennydrop
  85. "Canterlot Citizens"
  86. ~~~~
  87.
  88. They were waiting for her.
  89.
  90. Her crowd, her ponies, all of them waiting for her to descend down the ramp of her airship like paparazzi waiting for a star, and she was certainly nothing less. In face, she would argue she was quite a lot more. Unlike them, she could do more than screech into a microphone.
  91.
  92. No, she needed no sirens song to sway these masses to her tunes. All she needed was one little thing.
  93.
  94. Her own words.
  95.
  96. >Well, this is certainly a development, isn't it? Has the princess made a statement about this yet?
  97.
  98. No, she could tell without waiting for a single answer, she had not.
  99.
  100. ...Perfect.
  101.
  102. No doubt, right now, they were forming their perfect words, their optimal means of assuaging the fears of the masses to bring them back in line under their godlike hooves, to shake away all fears and let them be nothing but safe and happy. Not a question asked, not a thing thought more. They were waiting for someone to give them the answers.
  103.
  104. But life favors the bold. Sometimes, most times in fact, life did not favor those who did it perfect, but those who struck first and struck hardest. And she, with all her technological might, was going to strike.
  105.
  106. >Well, I certainly hope you guys aren't panicking or anything!
  107.
  108. And she was going to strike right to their heart.
  109.
  110. "Why not!? Don't you see that this is exactly what happened before!?"
  111.
  112. >Oh, I do! I do indeed see that. But come on, if this were an invasion, wouldn't they want us disorganized, running about asking for any answers at all?
  113.
  114. She moved through the crowd so smoothly, like a shark hungry for the biggest and meatiest in a school of fish. She chose every word carefully, but fired them off as quickly as she could to her rapt audience.
  115.
  116. >No no no, clearly, what we all want is the right answers, the honest answers, don't we?
  117.
  118. A rolling murmur of agreement came from the Canterlot elite, the posh prissy ponies who stood high above the 'common' folk in their castle on the side of a mountain easily swayed by the prospect of everything in a nice, neat little package.
  119.
  120. >What we need to do is just get in there and have someone ask the right questions, don't we? We just need to make sure we know everything we deserve to know about this, and then we can go from there. But why the riot and panic? Riot is for the simpler ponies, not us. We are smart, and when the time comes we find answers, not run around like common folk.
  121.
  122. Rolling waves of affirmative came from that, the entire crowd relaxing in waves she could practically feel tingling beneath her fur.
  123.
  124. Canterlot was a city that prided itself on being the very upper crust, the very elite of the elite, those special enough to live under "The Princess's" gaze. They, she knew, were by far the easiest to sway.
  125.
  126. >You're all right, this whole mess with the changelings is suspicious, isn't it? Well, we can't have that! I say we march to the castle right now, altogether, and then we get answers. We're getting answers!
  127.
  128. Affirmative, wonderful affirmative, called back to her powerful words.
  129.
  130. >Because when we need to find the answers, we get them! This is Canterlot! The city of the learned! Come on! This is our city, and we have a right to know!
  131.
  132. "Yeah!"
  133.
  134. >We deserve to know!
  135.
  136. "YEAH!"
  137.
  138. >And we're going to know!
  139.
  140. """"YEAH!"""""
  141.
  142. It was too easy, she noticed in hindsight. A mob so looking for a leader, for that one pony with the magical problem solver, that they would follow her so simply. It didn't surprise her, just because she didn't have a magical necklace didn't mean anything to them. She had the answers to their problems, she made them feel smart, she made them feel like this was their idea, and they deserved it.
  143.
  144. They would follow her off a cliff if she wanted them to.
  145.
  146. >LETS GO!
  147.
  148. To think...
  149.
  150. She didn't even have to pay the army this time.
  151.
  152. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________
  153.
  154. >Soarin'
  155. "LD"
  156. 'FF'
  157. ~~~
  158.
  159. >...So do we, like... stop her?
  160.
  161. "You would like that, wouldn't you, CHANGELING!"
  162.
  163. 'Will you stop with that!'
  164.
  165. "I'm just saying what everyone is thinking! That only a changeling would want someone who walked in and told everyone to calm down and go peacefully get their answers to go back to rioting!"
  166.
  167. >I don't want them to riot! Just... you know, this seems like she's marching to the castle.
  168.
  169. "Where the CHANGELINGS are!?"
  170.
  171. 'There aren't any changelings in the castle!... Except for the Spider... and that one that steals potatoes when nobody is looking... and that adopted one that comes over with Shining... and the punching one and stabbing one with Spike... and then there's the 'ambassador', and then there's that juggling moron, and then there's-'
  172.
  173. >POINT TAKEN!
  174.
  175. "See!? He's clearly defending his own kind!"
  176.
  177. >I'm a pony!
  178.
  179. "Prove it!"
  180.
  181. >How!?
  182.
  183. "Do a pony thing!"
  184.
  185. > *WHINNY!*
  186.
  187. "..."
  188.
  189. '...'
  190.
  191. >...Well!?
  192.
  193. '...Oh my gosh that was adorable!
  194.
  195. "Do it again!"
  196.
  197. >I thought-
  198.
  199. "DO IT AGAIN, CHANGELING!"
  200.
  201. > *WHINNY!*
  202.
  203. 'EEEEEHEEE why didn't you ever do that before!?'
  204.
  205. >...you're seriously asking?
  206.
  207. "I think we need more confirmation-"
  208.
  209. >Don't push your luck.
  210.
  211. "CHANGELING!"
  212.
  213. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________
  214.
  215. >32
  216. "JJ"
  217. '88'
  218. [Acty]
  219. ~~
  220.
  221. >I'm starting to think it's our lot in life to suffer. We're just predetermined, from the start, to endlessly have our lives be meaningless and short.
  222.
  223. "...Well, yeah."
  224.
  225. 'Even I can see that one.'
  226.
  227. >I feel like we are born into this world with but a single purpose, to serve and then fall. Serve and fall, serve and fall...
  228.
  229. "That is correct yes."
  230.
  231. 'That's our whole point from birth. Literally.'
  232.
  233. >To serve a Queen, a hive, is our only reason for being!
  234.
  235. "Yep."
  236.
  237. 'Nothing but factual statements there.'
  238.
  239. >Could anyone know of our pain?
  240.
  241. "Acty?"
  242.
  243. [My whole life is predetermined by a funny picture that magically appears on my ass. ]
  244.
  245. >...Fair enough. How do you all cope with it?
  246.
  247. 'Get taken over by a giant spore thing. You?'
  248.
  249. "Juggle."
  250.
  251. 'Juggling is neat.'
  252.
  253. [It is!]
  254.
  255. >...Just roll the damn dice.
  256.
  257. 'Thank you!... WOOO! PARK PLACE!'
  258.
  259. "You're not even on that side of the board-"
  260.
  261. SLAP!
  262.
  263. 'I LANDED ON PARK PLACE I SAID!'
  264.
  265. [OW!]
  266.
  267. 'Whoops.'
  268.
  269. >The sad part is, this is by far the best game of this I've ever had.
  270.
  271. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________
  272.
  273. >Crystal Ponie
  274. "CP2"
  275. ~~~
  276.
  277. >Hey, Sparkler?
  278.
  279. "Yep."
  280.
  281. >Who do we go to if we want an outside investigation?
  282.
  283. "What?'
  284.
  285. >If, like... we want to make sure that Eighteen isn't setting up for an invasion, who do we go to?
  286.
  287. "Uh... I don't think there's, like, a guy? They're pretty much at the top."
  288.
  289. >Huh. That's not good.
  290.
  291. "Why? I mean, it is Eighteen. She eats my cheese danish's every morning, she doesn't seem the invadey type."
  292.
  293. >Oh no, no knocking her, she helped me to finance the renovation for my house that kept me from getting locked in interest debt. I have a patio because of her!
  294.
  295. "It's a nice patio."
  296.
  297. >It is! But I mean... that doesn't mean a certain someone else isn't using her, you know. Like, I get that those changelings seem like they just want a home, but that big one is... scary.
  298.
  299. "Very scary."
  300.
  301. >Have you heard how she talks?
  302.
  303. "She talks creepy."
  304.
  305. >So I just want to make sure Eighteen isn't getting rused, you know? She's a good girl! I like her, I really do, especially learning that she did all this for no thanks at all, but...
  306.
  307. "Buuuut yeah, kinda hoping she's also smart enough to out smart the smarty who almost took over Canterlot."
  308.
  309. >Soooo-
  310.
  311. "There isn't an investigator type."
  312.
  313. >...Should... should we ask for one?
  314.
  315. "Who would hire them though, and who would they answer to?"
  316.
  317. >...
  318.
  319. "..."
  320.
  321. >...Shit got real complicated in a few hours.
  322.
  323. "No shit."
  324.
  325. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________
  326.
  327. OOCO
  328. >Spike
  329. ‘Dash’
  330. “??”
  331. Spike was in the forge area again, busily working and reworking the plans for his final weapon. Oblivious as the blue Pegasus flitted in.
  332.
  333. ‘SPIKE!’
  334.
  335. >Gah!
  336.
  337. In his surprise a gout of flame escaped burning a hole in his carefully made plans and scorching his desk
  338.
  339. >Who What Where!? Oh….it’s you.
  340.
  341. While the displeasure in his eyes was very clear it likely meant nothing to the mare doubled over in laughter.
  342.
  343. He lifted up the plans and looked through the hole the size of his head.
  344.
  345. >Well that’s several hours wasted. Can I help you?
  346.
  347. ‘Actually yes! And don’t worry we were going to throw those plans out anyway, those were for the crossbow right?’
  348.
  349. >…Yeah...you mean you still want to work on that? I was under the impression ya’ll would rather not think about the arsenal again.
  350.
  351. ‘Pfft! Don’t be so sensitive! The guns are fine just not the…pose…’
  352.
  353. >I have been informed I am never to speak of or discuss the matter in question again apart from informing others I cannot speak of or discuss the matter in question.
  354.
  355. ‘…Seriously?’
  356.
  357. >They were quite adamant.
  358.
  359. ‘O….kay! That’s fine! Look. I know how to make the crossbow awesome And functional!’
  360.
  361. >Be still my beating heart.
  362.
  363. ‘…Wouldn’t that kill you?’
  364.
  365. >It’s a turn of- actually? Screw it. What’s your idea?
  366.
  367. ‘Right, follow me on this one. Are you following me? Good. A crossbow-that shoots, wait for it…..Swords!’
  368.
  369. >…uh huh.
  370.
  371. ‘That Explode!’
  372.
  373. >because of course they do.
  374.
  375. ‘Into a spray of Flaming. Axes.’
  376.
  377. >Naturally.
  378.
  379. ‘Which make their targets BURST INTO FLAME ON CONTACT!!!’
  380.
  381. >Brilliant!
  382.
  383. ‘Right!? And so SO AWESOME!’
  384.
  385. >That they are! Just one problem.
  386.
  387. The Pegasus tilted her head in curiosity
  388.
  389. ‘What?’
  390.
  391. >oh just a minor thing like THE PHYSICAL LAWS OF THE FREAKING UNIVERSE!
  392.
  393. ‘What? How!?’
  394.
  395. >Swords don’t explode! Unless made at least partially of explosives! And even if we could shape charges to create axe blades from the exploded sword, and coated them in some incendiary but not explosive material, presuming such a thing exists mind you, HOW WOULD WE DIRECT THEM SO THEY DON”T JUST FLY IN ALL DIRECTIONS INCLUDING STRAIGHT BACK AT ME!?
  396.
  397. ‘Well when you put it that way…’
  398.
  399. >DASH!
  400.
  401. ‘Fine, fine…I guess the loss of those plans is an issue after all huh?’
  402.
  403. >Eh…maybe we lucked out and they just went to Celestia. Don’t worry about it.
  404.
  405. ‘Um…’
  406.
  407. >Yeah?
  408.
  409. ‘So…maybe you can’t forge that…but maybe twilight knows something? Like she can…magic it or something?’
  410.
  411. >Almost certainly not.
  412.
  413. ‘Can you check?’
  414.
  415. >Right now?
  416.
  417. ‘Pllleeeeeease?’
  418.
  419. >Sigh…fine.
  420. ***
  421. >So, that’s impossible right?
  422.
  423. “Not at all! Just a few enchantments of teleportation, explosion, and incineration and it’ll work perfectly!”
  424.
  425. >…Can you SAY it’s impossible?
  426.
  427. “Spike. I won’t lie to one of my friends! But I am too busy to do it myself, you can do the inscriptions can’t you?”
  428.
  429. >Aside from incineration, I don’t have inscriptions for those.
  430.
  431. “Oh…Well I don’t have time to do it, so I guess Dash is just S.O.L. on this one.”
  432.
  433. >Pleasure doing business with you!
  434. ***
  435. <Some time later>
  436.
  437. “Uh…hello Dash.”
  438.
  439. The Pegasus stared at her.
  440.
  441. “S-Something I can help you with?”
  442.
  443. ‘Ahem. <Deep inhale> Pllleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee-‘
  444.
  445. “No!”
  446.
  447. ‘eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee’
  448.
  449. “Absolutely not!”
  450.
  451. ‘eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee’
  452.
  453. “This won’t work!”
  454.
  455. ‘eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee’
  456.
  457. <a long time after that>
  458.
  459. ‘eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee’
  460.
  461. “Alright! Alright! You win you madmare I’ll do it just stop making that noise!!”
  462.
  463. ‘ese and Thank You Twilight! I’ll go get Spike and the stuff!’
  464. ***
  465. “Aaaaaaand there. All finished!”
  466.
  467. >Thanks twilight.
  468.
  469. He took the crossbow in his claws.
  470.
  471. >I dub thee Faith-
  472.
  473. <ZOOM!>
  474.
  475. Only to have it snatched away by a blue streak.
  476.
  477. ‘HAHA! Screw that noise! I claim this pile of awesome for myself and dub thee Crossbow Swordsplosion Mark 2000 Double XX!! AWAY!’
  478.
  479. And in a blur of blue and a rainbow streak she was gone.
  480.
  481. “…huh.”
  482.
  483. Spike just pinched the bridge of his nose.
  484.
  485. >Twilight? Why do I try?
  486.
  487. “I don’t know Spike. Some days I just don’t know. Some days I just gaze around and marvel at the futility of it all.”
  488.
  489. >…Hug it out?
  490. “Either that or try to commit suicide in a new and interesting way…”
  491.
  492. Together they gazed around at the myriad of equipment and dangers the lab possessed.
  493.
  494. >“…nah.”
  495.

  636.
  637. "Hey boss?"
  638.
  639. >Maybe the answer is to change occupation. Think you can get a bartending lisence, Actarius?

  663.
  664. 'Him back!'
  665.
  666. >Oh my, you look a lot better!
  667.
  668. The changeling barely even looked her way as he fluttered back to the ground, his chitin once more a luscious, sharp black, and nothing at all like the weak grey it had been when he had flown away earlier that day. He kept his eyes straight ahead, focused on his landing, and not at all on the former pegasi or manticore sitting at a tiny floating table, enjoying some tea.
  669.
  670. >I take it you um... spent some time with whoever it is you're seeing?
  671.
  672. "You could say that."
  673.
  674. She blushed, trying not to think too hard about that one.
  675.
  676. "Heh, she's literally all that keeps me going sometimes. Literally! I'm not using that wrong this time."
  677.
  678. >That's nice... she's in biomagic, right?
  679.
  680. He smiled, moving around to the manticore eagerly awaiting him, smoothly moving behind her and placing his hooves on her head to yet again continue his seemingly endless work.
  681.
  682. "Indeed. Studying the links between the physical and the magical, and how to enhance both with the other, as she puts it."
  683.
  684. >Oh, that's very interesting.
  685.
  686. "I find it so. She wanted to study me initially, if you can believe that.'
  687.
  688. >I can see why!
  689.
  690. "But she had to settle for only studying parts of me."
  691.
  692. >Oh? What parts... oh.
  693.
  694. Slightly skewed, she brought her tea cup to to her lips, quite noticeably covering her whole face with her hoof by holding it in quite the odd manner.
  695.
  696. 'Pony is funny.'
  697.
  698. "Don't tease her."
  699.
  700. 'Me can if me want.'
  701.
  702. >U-um... so! Are you and her... dating?
  703.
  704. "No."
  705.
  706. >Oh?
  707.
  708. "No, I just show up at the bar once every other day, we talk for a bit, she picks me up and we go back to her place, hardly a date."
  709.
  710. >Oh, I guess that's true...
  711.
  712. "Don't worry, I'm not manipulating her or anything."
  713.
  714. >I didn't say that... but why do you do it, if that's the case?
  715.
  716. "I need to stay charge, and she brings me back to acceptable power ever time."
  717.
  718. >Is that... it?
  719.
  720. "Is that a problem?"
  721.
  722. She shuffled in her seat, quite uncomfortable.
  723.
  724. >I suppose not if she doesn't mind, but is that... it?
  725.
  726. "I do need charging."
  727.
  728. >Isn't there a better way?
  729.
  730. Her already terrible sense of unease expanded exponentially when he looked her way, a single eyebrow cocking up.
  731.
  732. "Are you offering to charge me like she does instead?"
  733.
  734. The sight of watching what very well may be the most powerful being in Equestria go completely scarlet was nothing short of amazing. The added sight of tiny little "WHOA" signs popping out of the back of her head and a firework or two shooting out of her ear only compounded this.
  735.
  736. >Don't say that!
  737.
  738. "What? If you're worried I'd turn you down, I wouldn't."
  739.
  740. >N-No! I'm not worried about that at all!!
  741.
  742. "Oh, good. So is that a yes? That would cut down on a lot of my flying time if we just did it here."
  743.
  744. She buried her face in both her hooves, more uncomfortable than she had ever been in her whole life.
  745.
  746. >I wasn't talking about 'that'!
  747.
  748. "Ah. Sorry, but that's what we do. Did I not make that clear?"
  749.
  750. >No, you made it very clear you and her do... that!
  751.
  752. "It's what charges me, so when you said-"
  753.
  754. >I get it I get it please stop!
  755.
  756. He should not have found that funny, and very much knew he was poking the proverbial beehive, but he couldn't resist.
  757.
  758. "Sorry. But yes, there are other ways to get love, obviously, this method is just the fastest while I work on our... alternative."
  759.
  760. Beneath his hooves, the massive beast rumbled.
  761.
  762. >I get it, sorry... sorry for bringing that up.
  763.
  764. "Sorry for pushing you."
  765.
  766. >...Why don't you just bring her here?
  767.
  768. "Hm?"
  769.
  770. >If she does work with biomagic... wouldn't she help?
  771.
  772. He paused in whatever it was he was doing, but only for a moment before he went right back to work.
  773.
  774. "I'd rather not."
  775.
  776. >Why?
  777.
  778. "I have my reasons."
  779.
  780. >Um... not to pry, but Chrysalis learned that keeping secrets from those you're close to, it never really helps. She might be able to help.
  781.
  782. "Maybe, but I'd rather not."
  783.
  784. >But why?
  785.
  786. He remained silent, focusing entirely on the task at hoof.
  787.
  788. >Seven-
  789.
  790. 'If him not want her over, him not bring her!'
  791.
  792. The snarl from the beast below was far harsher than it needed to be, enough so Seven wasted no time bopping her in the head to calm her down.
  793.
  794. 'Sorry.'
  795.
  796. "It's alright. Let's just say... I have my reasons."
  797.
  798. >...Alright.
  799.
  800. More silence, as uncomfortable as had been before, if not even moreso.
  801.
  802. >I think my love would make you all... weird, anyway.
  803.
  804. "Hm?"
  805.
  806. >If you did that sapping thing on me. I think my um... condition, it would make it all weird. You might grow another head or something.
  807.
  808. "Well, I think I could figure out how to put it to good use."
  809.
  810. There was a bout of silence while she pieced together what he meant in her head. When it hit her, her hooves hit her face just as hard as the realization had.
  811.
  812. >You're terrible, and I'm just happy poor Buttercup doesn't know what you're saying.
  813.
  814. 'Hm? Wait, what? Me am watch parents and siblings mate all time, why you think me not know what mating is? Just cause me not get mated and have cubs yet not mean me not see it, me live in Everfree! Me know what he do with two heads. It for when one miss, right?'
  815.
  816. The world, quite literally, stopped. Time frozen as leaves ceased to fall, and the birds ceased to fly, and the parasprites rolling in the trees became locked in place.
  817.
  818. 'What?'
  819.
  820. >...So are you done with-
  821.
  822. "Yep."
  823.
  824. >Good.
  825.
  826. 'WHAT!?'
  827.
  828. Without another word, he got back to work.
  829.
  830. >...So what do you supposed everyone else is doing?
  831.
  832. "Nothing too exciting, probably. There weren't any major disasters when I left three hours ago, I doubt something earth shaking popped up out of nowhere and nobody thought to find you.
  833.

Now she never wrestled an alligator before, but we've wrestled pretty hard together in the past and she figured how hard could it be to do the same thing to an alligator? She apparently didn't know about the death roll thing that alligators can do. Long story short, she ended up with bite marks on 75% of her body and nearly drowned. This could have been a cautionary tale about overconfidence, but after she opened her eyes her first words were 'Did Ah win, because gator was rigged if Ah didn't.' Good old cousin Peach was nev-"

  964. From up high.
  965.
  966. Because they were up high.

1006. The giant rock arm that sprung out of the side seemed to sum it up.
  1007.
1008. When the rest of the limbs came, it was pretty much a moot point.
  1009.
1010. There was only one reaction when a great, terrible eye opened up, and looked to the three fillies on it's back.
  1011.
