Xander: [sweat] …’Chosen’ in what sense, exactly?
Xander: By your father? Well, I was a bit overwhelmed at first, but-
Ophelia: No, no! Chosen by destiny! By fate!
Xander: [sweat] By Siegfried?
Xander: Well… I was surprised. Siegfried hadn’t called to anyone in some time.
Xander: [frown] It’s a great honour to be chosen to wield it. I’ve devoted my life to trying to live up to that honour.
Ophelia: [smile] And did you just know? Or did the chosen-ness take a while to sink in?
Xander: [sweat] I… suppose I knew? The sword lit up. It was quite a spectacle.
Ophelia: Can you re-enact it?
Xander: [sweat] Er…
Ophelia: Oh, hang on, we’ll need some props – maybe a stage?
Xander: [sweat] That’s not really-
Ophelia: [smile] You’re so humble, Father! Just what I’d expect from a chosen one!

Ophelia: Doesn’t that make you want to yell “Flaming Justice Strike!” or something of the sort?
Xander: [sweat] Speaking is usually the last thing on my mind in battle.
Ophelia: [smile] Well, I suppose your stoic demeanour is part of your appeal.
Ophelia: So, what’s it like, being a chosen one? You must see the world differently!
Xander: [sweat] Being royalty is a great deal of pressure. You’ll come to understand, as you spend more time at court.
Xander: Your actions are heavily scrutinised, and you must think always in your people’s best interests.
Ophelia: [sweat] I don’t mean being royalty! Anyone can be royalty!
Xander: That’s not really how it-
Ophelia: I mean being a chosen one! Blessed by fate! A hero, struggling against adversity!
Xander: …Wielding Siegfried?
Ophelia: No! Not Siegfried, not being royalty, but you! Your inherent chosenness that would shine through even if you were a lowly pauper!
Xander: [sweat] I’m sorry, starlight. You’ve lost me.
Ophelia: Well- you’d still be a chosen one even if you’d been born a commoner and never wielded Siegfried, right?
Xander: …No?
Ophelia: [upset] N-nonsense! Of course you would be!
Ophelia: Father, you mustn’t think so ill of yourself!
Ophelia: [determined] Your chosenly credentials are unrivalled, crown or no crown!
Xander: [sweat] …If you say so, starlight.
