- Snail’s Story Thing:
- All of this is very flexible and open for change.
- The story starts out with you playing an old wizard/king going through photographs of his (son/wife/daughter?), who died young. He made a promise with his (s/w/d?) that he’d live life “for the both of them” when they died. And he’s regretful that he’s an old man and will never be able to fulfull that promise.
- A messenger runs to the king and tells him that there’s a guy ravaging his kingdom in search for something. The king recognizes the monster as a human with one of the Relics of Immortality (of which there are six), and concludes he must be looking for the others in search for immortality. He sees this as an answer to his loneliness and regret, and a way to fulfill his promise.
- Going out to investigate, he (does a bunch of sidequests and shit) and then confronts the relic-guy thing. The guy reveals that he is the king of a different domain, and after a brief fight, he gets away. However, part of his cape (or something?) tears off. The cape is made from a material only found in his kingdom.
- And now, gameplay mechanics!
- There are 6 worlds, one for each relic. Traveling between the worlds is handled via a “teleporter” in each world, but the end destinations can be set with a little bit of material from the destination world. For example, putting in the king’s cape in the teleporter will allow you to teleport to the king’s kingdom. However, there can be side enemies, such as a hidden Sky enemy that when killed, drops a bit of cloud that can be used with the teleporter to enter the Sky world. Eventually all six places must be completed, but with a little creativity the player controls the order.
- ENTIRE CENTER OF STORY UP FOR DEBATE, but the idea is that you and your rival king are in a race to find all the relics to achieve immortality. The story is set up so that you get 3 relics while your rival beats you to the other 3. Your reckless search for the relics destroys the villages of the worlds you travel through.
- And spoiler alert, here’s the end.
- You confront the rival king, each of you with 3 relics. After some fancy boss scene dialogue, you face off and you kill him (your attacks + boss attacks are based on the relics you/he has). When he dies, you combine his relics and (fancy cutscene etc) achieve immortality. But your quest has left the world in a post-apocalyptic state, with all the villagers dead, and you’re forever alone.
