  1. Eros Automaton
  2. >”I will hear your story” said the Eros Automaton, her face and tone emotionless.
  3. >Ned frowned at the Eros Automaton. The pink stripes didn't inspire confidence. The hunter squirmed under the light of her pink heart filled gaze. He had his doubts about a robot being a love expert, but she was pulsing with pink light. Her “User Warranty” was undersigned by Eros. The 3 pages of "End User License Agreement" and "Terms of Use" she'd gotten him to sign had been written in glowing pink ink that strongly reminded him of being held as a baby.

  5. >With a reluctant shiver, he told her about the Mantis. Maybe he should have described things other than did. Instead of the small things that poured out. Like how she tore through game in a blur. How she often hunted from the same herd when he was hunting. How she looked dead at him as she hungrily ate the warm steaming flesh of her kills. How she barely responded to conversation, yet would only sit, stare, and eat. Unblinking golden eyes that made it hard to remember that she was chewing bloody flesh.

  7. >"Assessment complete. Correlating with LovDoc.sql. Affirmative syntax cohesion. You_Got_It_Bad(ku4.dere.sql) confirmed. Pair-matching against Poisson distribution. Nonrandom. Requesting authorization from user: HelloKittyErosTitties(root).” Ned did his best to stand fast as her monotonous voice spoke in its eldritch tongue. Her floral magic speech was incomprehensible, but the dull tone of her voice made his stomach tingle and thoughts of golden eyes pulled at his mind. He was jarred from his distraction as both of the Automaton’s pink heart shaped pupils turned into a horizontal line of three smaller hearts each. A burst of sound spilled forth from the mamono, and soft music filled the air. The hunter listened to the relaxing sound that made his stomach feel like it was falling. Was that an oboe?
  8.
  9. >“Authorization confirmed. I will take the contract. Where is the target located?” she asked.
  10.
  11. >He’d tried to explain that he couldn’t be sure where to find her. The forest was large, and the thought of hunting her wasn’t a good idea. She normally found him. In fact, he liked it that way. When it came down to it, he was actually just wanting some advice… Yet the Automaton was implacable and insistent in that distant, cold way. This was all getting so weird, but what else could he do but follow her strange demands? So he showed her a spot in the woods. Taking care to go first at all times, because she wouldn’t let anyone stand behind her, he stood at place where he and the insect mamono had “talked” once.
  12.
  13. >The Automaton stood in the woods behind Ned. Both of them were garbed in strange clothing. They had black sweaters with extended necks, and both wore thin golden necklaces. Over the sweaters, they wore a sort of casual tuxedo jacket with matching pants. The Automaton’s were pink. His were gray. He had no clue why they were both holding bottles of beer either. Ned was beginning to hope the Mantis was elsewhere. What were the chances she was here? The woods were large after all.
  14.
  15. >The Automaton’s head shifted inhumanly fast and at an impossible angle. Ned followed her gaze to see the Mantis, perched on a tree. She was upside down, at a near-impossible angle herself. She never looked happy, but somehow Ned could sense her irritation. He hoped it was just his imagination, her face looked as expressionless as usual.
  16.
  17. >“Scanning.” said the Automaton “Circadian incompatibility detected. Mantis_circadia1.py Compiling corrective payload estrus_insectoid_673. Compiled. Sending payload.” After speaking more of her magic gibberish, a long metal tube spun out from behind her. A beam of pink light shot out of the end. Ned turned from her to see the Mantis now tightly gripping her perch on the tree. Her eyes were closed and her antenna twitched, sparks of pink rippled over her body.
  18.
  19. >“Smile and do as I do. She must be reminded.” said the Automaton. She held her beer at a strange stiff angle and her face twisted into the most disturbing and insincere smile he’d ever seen in his life. She began nodding her head forward repeatedly.
  20.
  21. >“What the hell did you do? What you mean reminded?” asked Ned, mind scrambling to figure out what was going on.
  22.
  23. >Without missing a beat of her odd nodding, or changing her creepy large smile in the slightest, she spoke “Smile and nod like this. At her. Do not stop. You will comply.”. She made up for the lack of emotion in her voice with volume, and the ability to speak without moving her lips. The hunter gulped and mimicked the Automaton’s posture and motions. The Mantis was still clutching the tree, as the sparks of pink ran up and down her body. He could hear the tearing and snapping of wood as she clenched the large tree, her eyes closed and face grimacing.
  24.
  25. >What_Is_Love_Haddaway.ogg
  26.
  27. >As strange music filled the air behind him, he turned to see the Automaton now further away from him. She was still nodding her head and wearing the disturbing smile. “Do not stop. Face the Mantis.” said the Automaton.
  28.
  29. >After doing so, doing his best to keep smiling and nodding, he saw the Mantis look upward head tilting as if listening to the strange music. Suddenly, she shuddered and opened her eyes. A blast of pink light flowed from them. Even while nodding his head like a dumbass, even though he couldn’t technically see her pupils, Ned knew her pupils were heart-shaped.
  30.
  31. >“She remembers.” said the Automaton, but Ned didn’t pay it any mind. He was distracted by the sight of the Mantis’s outer shell vanishing in portions. Her pubis all the way up to her breasts were now bare. Still, her arms, legs and sides retained the shell. The Mantis turned towards him, piercing him with her gaze. He couldn’t look away as she sped toward him with inhuman speed. He had a moment to think before she reached him. Yup, they were heart pupils, both pairs of eyes, too.
