  1. >this is not what you had in mind when you sent to a new world. In fact no one really thought that the tiger would break down immediately, though it’s been an hour or two since then and neither Hans nor Henrik can figure out how to get it back on the road. You and Hans have never had to fix a tank before and Henrik was “just the loader”.
  2. “we might have to take apart the engine, though we don’t have the tools to do that” says hans, still partially in the engine compartment.
  3. “Then we should lock everything, camouflage it and continue on foot”
  4. >you gather up your guns and ammunition and get some rations that was helpfully included in the tank. You and your friends start down the road for the second time, this time with nothing to stop you. After about half an hour of marching you can see smoke above the tree line and Hans begins humming ‘Erika’ as you pick up the pace. The trees begin to thin out as you get closer to the source of the smoke. By the time you can see the source of the smoke, a small huddle of buildings, you are all tired and have slowed to walking pace. A small figure comes skipping down the opposite side of the dirt road, a small girl with a bow or something-
  5. >nope its ears, cat ears, she has cat ears
  6. >what?
  7. >she continues down the road, oblivious to the weary soldiers staring at her.
  8. >after recovering from this new information you continue to the town. With stone walls and thatch roofs the town looks like something out of medieval times. What you can only assume is the town hall is the biggest building and is in the centre of the town. The streets are strangely empty, maybe they had seen you coming and are hiding? Maybe. You continue to the town hall and once you are at the door you turn back to your comrades.
  9. “Alright guys, no shooting until you’re certain that they want to kill you and try not to look like idiots”
  10. >after they both promise not to sperg out you enter the large structure.
  11. >the building seems to be at least part tavern judging by the benches and the drunk men everywhere. A few uninterested eyes drift your way as you enter. You nervously step into the room with Hans and Henrik following close behind. You walk up to a counter.
  12. “Hello?”
  13. >a woman appears from somewhere behind the counter
  14. >she has blonde hair and big blues eyes
  15. Approvedgenetics.blackandwhitephoto
  16. “H-hello welcome to the adventurer’s guild how can I help you”
  17. “Could you tell us where we are?”
  18. “This is the town of Axis”
  19. >you resist the urge to smirk and you can hear Hans laugh quietly
  20. “We’re not from around here, so could you tell us about anything worth doing or fighting?”
  21. “Well if you’re going to be fighting things than it’s best to get membership to the guild, see as you can take on bounties and such”
  22. >she brings out three bits of paper from underneath the counter
  23. “Here’s the forms if you want to sign up”
  24. “We’ll take a look”
  25. >you and your friends find a free table and look over the forms. To fill out there are your name, class, polarity and faction. Under polarity there are symbols for fire, water, earth and air
  26. “what do you think this ‘class’ thing is?” says to no one in paticular
  27. “why do you think I would know?” Hans replies
  28. “I’m more interested in this polarity option” you say, pointing to the symbols
  29. Hans shrugs “I guess we choose which we like the most”
  30. “Well, fuck it, I’ll pick fire”
  31. “same”
  32. “I’ll go with the rocks” says Henrik
  33. “Now I guess we just go ask about the class and faction”
  34. >you gather up the forms and walk back over to the counter
  35. “Are you done?”
  36. “Almost, just could you tell me about the class and faction options?”
  37. >she giggles
  38. “You really aren’t from around here”
  39. “I thought the clothes would have been a clue but whatever”
  40. “Well, classes just give you a bit of a boost in certain areas, like mages can use magic easier and learn it faster than say a knight and berserkers are really strong. But there’s more than just those”
  41. “magic!”
  42. >Hans immediately grabs his form back and scribbles mage in the general area of the class box
  43. “well, I’d like to see what I can do with some extra strength”
  44. >Henrik writes berserker onto his form, no doubt to attempt to hip fire the PTRD at a later date
  45. “Knight sounds pretty good to me”
  46. Handing all of the forms back to the woman. She leads you all over to a strange brass contraption. It is the same shape as a pirates treasure chest except longer, a hole in the short end and covered in crystals, with three large colour shifting orbs along the top.
  47. “This is where we get to the fun part!”
  48. >she opens the device, revealing a forearm sized cavity
  49. “Just put your arm in here”
  50. >looking back at your comrades, neither of them seem too eager to shove their arm into an unknown contraption
  51. “I guess I’ll go first”
  52. >you, as the brave soul you are, roll up your sleeve and put your left arm into the device then the woman closes and locks it
  53. “It’s okay, it doesn’t hurt… much”
  54. “What?”
  55. “Too late!”
  56. >with an excited “Boop!” she presses the largest, centre orb and the machine begins to work. First the gemstones start glowing, okay, then the orbs start floating, revealing your arm and taking a pyramid formation with the larges orb at the top. Slightly concerned. Then two beams of red light shoot from the top of the pyramid to the bottom two. At this point you realise your decisions leading up to this point have been less than optimal. The two smaller orbs emit twin streams of red light onto your arm, fug this hurds :DDD. Through some miracle you manage to hide most of the pain from your face. After about 30 seconds of this the light stops and the woman unlocks the device.
  57. “That wasn’t too bad was it?”
  58. “Not really”
  59. >you lie just to see Hans’ face when he gets zapped
  60. >looking down at your arm now you see a shimmering tattoo displaying the information you put onto the form, a few strings of numbers and a new field, rank.
  61. “What’s this all about?”
  62. “Welcome to the guild”
  63. “That’s really helpful-“
  64. >a man comes crashing through the door, slamming the bolt down behind him
  65. “Bad gaijin has returned”
  66. The man is wearing red armour, in the same style of traditional Japanese armour, but seems to be made of metal. A flagpole on his back holds the banner if the empire of japan and at his side is a katana. His eyes lock onto your party and he begins to move towards you.
  67. “I know those uniforms! You are German! You are arrry! You are friends!”
  68. “That’s nice and all and it’s great to see a friendly face but what were you saying about a bad something?”
  69. “Werr he’s-“
  70. >he is cut off by someone being thrown through the window
  71. “Hans, Henrik you guys stay here and zapped and I’ll go check out what’s going on”
  72. >they both seem pretty happy with that plan
  73. >the woman’s head pops up from cover behind the bench
  74. “But chad is an iron rank!”
  75. “So?”
  76. “He’s really strong and stuff”
  77. “Nothing a few bullets won’t fix”
  78. “What’s a bullet?”
  79. >the door closes behind you
  80. >you’re still mad about getting zapped
  81. >maybe you can team up with chad and burn that place to the ground. Yeah that sounds good
  82. >in the streets you can see a man armed with a sword and shield fighting a giant you can only assume to be chad. He stands about two heads taller than any normal person, his hair is moulded into a golden spike and his arms are like tree trunks. His mace sends the smaller man flying into a wall. You gather up your confidence and walk out into the street
  83. “Hello Mr. Chad I believe we can work tog-“
  84. “DO YOU WANNA FIGHT”
  85. “No I want to team-“
  86. “HE WANTS TO FIGHT”
  87. >he yells this to some imaginary audience and charges, swinging his hammer around his head while screeching some war cry
  88. >fuck this
  89. >you draw your luger, take aim and give him three new face piercings
  90. >he falls to the ground and one more round ensures that the behemoth is dead. Henrik chooses now to appear and steals chad’s hammer
  91. “this is mine now”
  92. >seeing Henrik lift the massive weapon is surprise to say the least. Soon a crowd of people has gathered around you, calling you a hero and you notice a few have cat ears. It looks like chad was not liked at all and thankfully they were too busy hiding to hear to try to team up with him. You all go back into the guild building
  93. > Medieval partying ensues
