  29. From one weird corner of the galaxy to another. No longer in the body I had previously, I found myself in a rather heavily modified one. Cybernetics, cybernetics everywhere. But such is to be expected when one finds themselves a member of the Adeptus Mechanicus.

  31. On the minus side, I seem to be an absolute magnet for trouble. I already knew that machine spirits were a reality, but with my position in the Cult Mechanicus, they're no longer as forgiving if I don't go through all the steps of the rituals. No shortcuts, apparently. And no matter where I go as a magos errant, I seem to end up constantly embroiled in conflict.
  32.
  33. On the plus side, I seem to have a talent for recovering STCs. Actually recovering them, not just converting the technologies that I have into STCs (though there is a bit of that, it's true). After all, precognition is useful for making sure you don't fall into the usual traps and see them destroyed or corrupted as soon as you touch them. The brownie points I earn from that see the Bastion retrofitted further than it already had been, including a proper Mechanicus outpost on board with personnel of my choosing and a proper repair gantry. Coupled with the Bastion's portal device, this basically means I can send whatever wherever, and ensure it's in peak condition, instead of simply deploying on foot.

  35. Ah well. All that aside, a bit of armoring and outfitting makes the servitors rather less... disturbing. And I did check - these particular servitors were blank-slate clones, not mind-wiped criminals, so clear conscience there.
  36.
  37. Really, though I went from conflict to conflict, there's not a lot to say when they all boil down to 'get the tech, kill the heretek, put down the crazies, and move on'. After a while it all just kind of blurs together, whether you're working with the Astartes, an Inquisitor's retinue, or a rogue trader. At least I still could call my own legion to aid when the situation became too far out of control.
  38.
  39. Honestly... looking at everything as it is right now? The Imperium is shockingly well off. The Emperor and Malcador are around, as are several of the Primarchs. The Ultramarines put down the Tau about 500 years ago (or rather, used them as fodder against a hive fleet and basically there were no Tau left after that), the usual Ork infestations are generally put down in a hurry, the Necrons are starting to poke their heads out but aren't particularly scary right now, Chaos has been kept largely in check (Abaddon has tried to launch Black Crusades but has a history of being sent back to the Eye of Terror with his tail between his legs. And occasionally with no arms.)... the Tyranids are the main threat as it seems to exist right now, but between the Astartes if they make landfall, the Fleet if they're able to be caught in space, and the Mechanicus supplying weapons that effectively fry anything organic in either location... it seems they can be fended off pretty much indefinitely, after they get funneled into choke points.
  40.
  41. Oh, and Commorragh finally, FINALLY, got completely stomped by Skynet. Took it long enough.
  42.
  43. ...so where do I go from here?
