  1. People are curious as to why people hate Prime 3 (surprisingly?) I personally think it's obvious as to why people hate it, but some people are curious. This is no offense to anyone who actually like the game.
  2.
  3. 1. The beginning is really slow. It's really boring to sit through and having to reset to do it again is really annoying (It may be worse than Cycle 1 in Majora's Mask?)
  4. 2. The load times. This is an obvious one. Almost all of the load times are horrible (this is not an issue if you're playing casually on the Wii U EShop version).
  5. 3. The mechanics. Spring ball doesn't work against walls (sometimes) so it's really annoying to optimize with. Touching a sloped wall takes away your Space Jump or takes away your Screw Attack.
  6. 4. The items. All of the items are a key to the next item (the worst one being Hyper Grapple). Another thing is that Plasma Beam is more of a downgrade when you first get it; it does increased normal shot strength only and is weaker on enemies on Bryyo (Power does 5 normal 50 charge, Plasma does 7 normal 50 charge).
  7. 5. Hypermode makes the game really easy and not challenging and makes combat uninteresting. It makes all of your weapons useless (especially missiles) other than their required uses. Nothing else to say about hypermode.
  8. 6. Elysia. Elysia. This is about 60% of the game and it's really slow and contains a lot of autoscrollers.
  9. 7. A lot of rooms are copied and pasted. It's most prominent in Elysia.
  10. 8. The bosses are not hard. The hardest boss in the game is Mogenar and it's the first seed boss.
  11. 9. Seekers do miss occasionally, it doesn't matter if it works 90% of the time for you. They do miss sometimes. There's a reason why they patched it in PAL and Trilogy (as well as Spring ball). Having to do setups to get them to work is not okay. It's no where near as bad as Spring Ball though. Having to patch an intended Mechanic is kinda stupid.
  12. 10. There are a lot of things that had a lot of potential. Ship Grapple, Ship Missiles, Ice Bryyo, and the Ship itself had a lot of potential, but didn't do anything with it. All of those things are just wasted potential.
  13. 11. The gimmicks you have to do with the items are cool at first, but then they become overused and then it becomes annoying to have to do them. Example: Kinetic locks with Boost Ball, Wielding with Plasma, Grapple... etc. Then after the area you use them in they become useless.
  14. 12. Energy Cells. You need at least 5 of them to complete the game (in normal gameplay). All 5 of them can be collected on the way. This may not sound like a problem, but think of the Artifacts in Prime 1 or the Sky Temple keys in Prime 2. There was a challenge to finding them and it felt rewarding when you found them.
  15. 13. The Hint System. Even if you turn it off the people still talk to you. All it does is instead of taking you to the map screen after the last text box, it shows a text box to go to the map. It's a really pointless feature.
  16. 14. The final boss was a let down. You know this.
  17. 15. The one bomb in air rule. This may sound like it doesn't affect casual play but it does. If a bomb on the ground is slightly off of the ground the one in the air will not hit you. It can make doing double bomb jumps really annoying. This feature is understandable though, because of spring ball. However it can be really annoying at times due to the fact that the bomb radius is stupid small.
  18. 16. Every enemy in the game is a damage sponge unless you use Hypermode.
  19. 17. There is a 1 second cool down on Morphing / Unmorphing after doing one of the two. It's very annoying.
  20.
  21. What's good about Prime 3?
  22.
  23. 1. The aiming with the Wiimote allows for smooth aiming and travel.
  24. 2. The game does look beautiful. It has a really nice presentation.
  25. 3. The soundtrack in the game is amazing. Rundas' theme is the most popular song.
  26. 4. The areas in the game themselves are really cool. Phaaze and Pirate Homeworld are my favorite areas.
  27. 5. Rundas was the most Memorable hunter because he helped you twice, and you know you felt bad when you killed him the first time.
  28. 6. Bringing Ice Missiles back from Fusion was a cool idea.
  29. 7. Now I said the bosses were easy, but the ideas for them were really cool and had good design (Helios being an exception...)
  30. 8. For a speedrun, the fact that you can instant unmorph and SSJ everywhere is really fun.
  31. 9. With all of the tricks used, the game is actually really broken.
  32. 10. Out of all of the items, Nova Beam is by far the best item. It's the only beam that actually feels good to use. It's the last beam you get, and when you combine it with X-Ray it one shots some enemies. It would be more rewarding if Hypermode wasn't so broken, but you have to admit it's really cool and not to mention Nova Beam looks sick as well.
  33.
  34. And if you don't think these affect the speedrun it really does. The game itself does affect the speedrun, and it's stupid to say that you should "think about the speedrun itself" rather than complaining about the game, because it DOES affect the speedrun and how fun / entertaining it is.
  35.
  36. And no, Prime 1 and Prime 2 are not perfect compared to this. No one glorifies them as perfect compared to this. They have their own problems too.
  37.
  38. It may seem like there are more negative things, but trust me, it's easier to explain why something is bad rather than explaining why something is good.
  39.
  40. Yes, this game does get the most hate. Most of the time though, people make fun of it because it's fun to make fun it, just because of how easy it is. It's not going to stop ever.
