Alpha Sapphire Elite Four Round 2 FAQ

Q. What is this and how is this different to a normal speedrun of this game?
A. Runs must complete the Delta Episode and must then defeat the Elite Four a second time. For this reason we pick up a few extra items in the main game and use a couple of safer strats with the extra money.

Q. What's the WR?
A. The current record in Alpha Sapphire E4R2 is 4:22:50 by me.

Q. What is your goal time
A. No idea, but 4:20 sounds cool.

Q. Why do you pick Mudkip?
A. Mudkip is by far the best Pokémon to use for the speedrun, it has a type advantage against 3 of the first 4 gyms, and has access to a great movepool including Echoed Voice and Bulldoze.

Q. Why do you keep resetting at the first fight?
A. I reset because my stats are not good enough to complete the run fast, I need my Mudkip to have at least 13 Attack, 10 Special Attack, and 9 Speed.

Q. What are you using to record the run
A. I have a 3ds XL with a capture card mod installed.

Q. Which game is faster for round 2 OR or AS?
A. Noone really knows, but I think Alpha Sapphire might be better because Kyogre is a beast.

Q: Why pick the girl?
A: Changes the natures for the rival fights, and Brendan has better natures for me in the second fight (though worse for the 4th, but Rival 2 is more important)

Q: What pokemon do you use for the run?
A: I start with Mudkip, which we then replace with Latias when we get it after Norman's gym. Kyogre is used for most of the lategame until after Zinnia 2. My current route attempts to exclusively use Rayquaza for the 2nd round of the elite four.
