  1. It's MG, back at it again with a way for the position of Gym Leaders to become a survival of the fittest type deal. This time, it won't be challenges . . . directly. Let me explain.
  2. So, I got the inspiration for this method from some clever thinking by a friend of mine. You know how restaurants, big or small, are often inspected randomly by critics and examiners. This will be a similar deal. A chosen group of five (5) Testers (who are all very good at battling and are unbiased towards many or all of the Gym Leaders, or will give fair judgement) will be selected to test Gym Leaders at random intervals, acting as normal challengers asking for either a rematch or a challenge. These Testers must remain anonymous, and no one can see the list unless they are Silver August, an owner, or a Tester themselves.
  3.
  4.
  5. How Gym Testers Work:
  6. 1) Three (3) of the five (5) Testers will decide upon a Gym Leader.
  7. 2) These three (3) Testers will all battle this Gym Leader, spaced apart by at least six (6) days, but not exceeding fourteen (14) days, as well as at least one (1) random challenger/rematcher, which may be hired by these Testers anonymously.
  8. 3) These three (3) Testers will all save the battle recordings and note strengths or weaknesses of the Leader.
  9. 4) All five (5) Testers will watch these videos and assess the performance of the Leader.
  10. 5) The five (5) Testers will determine, through voting, whether or not the Gym Leader has performed adequately.
  11. 6) If the Leader has performed adequately, nothing happens. However, if the Gym Leader performs undesirably, whether it be through large weakness(es) or flaws, through poor teambuilding, or through general disrespect, this Gym Leader will be demoted of their position.
  12.
  13. Tester Qualifications:
  14. 1) The ability to judge performance fairly and with minimal bias
  15. 2) Ten (10) or more badges
  16. 3) First (1st) or second (2nd) in an official CLT
  17. 4) Recommendation or general praise (not necessary but helpful)
  18.
  19. Redemption:
  20. If a Gym Leader is demoted, they may request "Redemption." A "Redemption" is when the Tester, whether an official Gym Tester or a battler who has tested Gym Leaders previously, is challenged by the leader who was disqualified. The Tester will bring a counter-team approved by at least two (2) Testers. The Gym Leader and the Tester will battle. This battle will be saved and will be assessed by all five (5) Testers. If the Leader is deemed worthy of reinstatement, they are returned to their Gym Position.
  21.
  22. Balancing Acts:
  23. 1) Testers are also randomly assessed by other Testers to keep them up-to-date. If one (1) is deemed unsatisfactory, they will be replaced. No Redemptions here.
  24. 2) A Gym cannot be taken until the Leader has had a week to "redeem" themselves.
  25. 3) Testers cannot be Gym Leaders. They must choose between the two positions.
  26. 4) Testers' teams must have one (1) or two (2) counters. One (1) check exceeding this is alright.
