yuri grew up in a rather normal household, although it was very quiet as she was an only child. she had always wanted a little brother or sister ever since she was young, but unfortunately her mother suffered from a miscarriage when yuri was just ten years old, and has now been too scared to try for anymore children. yuri and her family lived in adong for around twelve years until they moved to seoul because her mother wanted to start fresh and she had way more job opportunities there. as her father had retired, yuri would always sing calming songs to him and he would always say "don't forget me when you're famous" and jokingly ruffle her hair. when yuri was eighteen, she auditioned for fantagio and luckily got in. both of her parents were extremely supportive of her, and she always rings them up every night to tell them about her day and check up on them.

yuri is very humble and will always be cautious with her words in case it comes across as bragging. she knows she has talent, but she always wants to give chances to the other members of shining in the spotlight and normally lets them showcase their talents first. she's almost like the happy virus of the group, because she's constantly giving words of encouragement to everyone — even the stylists and managers! yuri gives the best advice when people are feeling down, and won't leave their side unless they want time alone. sometimes she can come across as quite lazy, because she will lie on the sofa and fall asleep as soon as they get back to the dorm. she's optimistic and always believes that one day their group will be a worldwide sensation and that the first place trophy will be in their hands soon enough!

so yuri was super stressed backstage one day because nothing was going her way and all the members in her sub-unit were being pains in the ass. lets say exo were having their comeback at the same time and they had just finished their stage and were walking off when suddenly yuri just came zooming past them. she ran to the girls toilets and literally just locked herself in there and cried even though her make-up was being ruined and they were meant to be on stage in like ten minutes. chanyeol decided to wait outside for her (bc the cutie doesn't like seeing people upset) and then scared the shit out of her as she came out by saying "are you okay?". yES THAT MAY HAVE BEEN CLICHE BUT I'M TIRED AND CAN'T THINK OF ANYTHING ELSE!!!
