- The creature regarded the tattoo artist for several seconds, as if trying to decide what to do with him. Then, moving with blinding speed, it fastened its clawed hands on the man’s shoulders and lifted him into the air as if he weighed nothing.
- The monster—where are its eyes, oh god, it doesn’t have eyes—opened its slavering mouth wide and some sort of tube shot outward, breaking through the man’s forehead as easily as if his skull was made of tissue paper. The man’s body jerked as blood sprayed the air, and then the tube retracted. The thing tossed him aside as if he’d ceased to be of interest. His body landed on top of the woman’s, the impact and momentum causing them both to slide across the blood-slick floor almost six feet. By the time they came to a stop, the man’s flesh was covered with the same deformities as the woman and the creature.
