	Rosenkrantz_GM	They, however, are hardly the only resource made suddenly very visible to those on the planet. A regiment's worth detachment of armsmen have also made planetfall; 1,200 men in the colors of the Consequence's crew, armed with lasguns, flamers, Shotguns - they alone match the entire force of Imperial Guard and PDF already on the planet.

	Friedrich_Rosenkrantz	"Didn't ask for your input." hr says glumly
	Rosenkrantz_GM	Though unseen to those on the planetary surface, every officer on the chain of command can see the live-reports of the massed formation of voidcraft high up on the atmosphere, ready to deliver punishing payloads on a moment's notice.
	Rosenkrantz_GM	Colonel Paweb has gathered all of his men at the Bastion, bringing the 30-or-so chimera transports to the fore, and readying his men for the rapid-deployment tactics Captain Gillam. Now, you all gather at the mustering grounds of Paweb's Bastion. The last stop before the offensive. The temporary encamptments have grown ten-fold since the Dynastic troops made landfall.
	Makh_Chomun	has the entirety of the Household Guard form up into platoons, walking between each, inspecting, making small talk, checking gear here and there. Mingling really, a good commander, as he sees it, mingles with his troops.
	Rosenkrantz_GM	One last meeting is called between the field commanders, and it is here that you say your last words in the calm before the storm.
	Makh_Chomun	The "Warlord" arrives last to the meeting, having finished reviewing the Household Guard. He waves to them all with left power-fist equipped hand.
	Josef	"The Omnissiah is with us. We shall be victorious."
	Baine_Mort	walks into the meeting after gathering his gear.
	Rozen	arrives, standing behind josef
	Lucrezia	looks over maps and images gathered by recon flights as she makes some final adjustments. She nods at each of the officers as they come in, focused on her work.
	Rozen	his face is covered by a carapace helm, and he quietly whispers to the tech priest
	Josef	"Ah, my newest victi...Patient. How are you feeling, Twistcatcher?"
	Rozen	"I am well genetor. I am eager to show you what I can do."
	Karl_Sturm	enters meeting, takes place behind Makh.
	Baine_Mort	"Morning Doc, I see you brought your new pet along."
	Friedrich_Rosenkrantz	arrives, flight suit on with the rest of his crew "All set to take off Captain, give us the word."
	Josef	"Excellent. This will be a test of both of our skills."
	Rozen	turns, his towering form taught and guarded.
	Rozen	"I am no pet, whelp."
	Friedrich_Rosenkrantz	looks the Giant up and down, before letting out a low whistle. "Somebody took his vitamins."
	Baine_Mort	"Don't care if you are or not, as long as you kill shit your fine in my book." Mort says back to Rozen.
	Lucrezia	"And follow orders..."
	Rozen	"you need not worry, I serve the emperor"
	Rozen	takes off his helm, revealing his gastly visage. He then takes out a slab of raw meat, and digs into it with sharpened teeth
	Rosenkrantz_GM	Colonel Paweb nods to his aides, issuing orders in the odd and heavily accented low-gothic of his home planet.
	Josef	"I can assure you, Lord-Captain. He is capable."
	Makh_Chomun	folds his arms as he eyes the twistcatcher. "Well Josef, you created something even bigger than me."
	Josef	"Though is table manner is questionable at best."
	Lucrezia	"He better start to conduct himself."
	Makh_Chomun	He starts to chuckle as he approaches the map table, stand to Lucrezia's left as he scans the table.
	Friedrich_Rosenkrantz	stares in a mix of awe and disgust, then shoots a sideways glance to Lucretzia
	Rosenkrantz_GM	"Allter sziend bereet, Kapetaam." Paweb pauses and clears his throat, correcting himself. "All is ready, Captain. All combat-ready troops are now on the fields, ready to deploy. May we review, the Order of Battle?"
	Lucrezia	nods and brings up a map of the area surrounding the outpost. "Let's. The less room for mistakes, the better."
	Rosenkrantz_GM	"As I understand it, Captain. We are not to be on the first wave of deployment?"
	Makh_Chomun	"You're regiment's value is not always as a meat-shield, Colonel. Despite how your masters trained you." He grunts, still disgusted with this Dryad.

	Rozen	"feels exciting to be on the offensive for once. the art of siege warfare is all too familiar with me."
	Lucrezia	"That would be correct. The first wave will need to hit fast and hit hard, which is why my Guards will be borrowing your Chimeras. You'll be coming in once we have forward LZs secure, to reduce the distance from the target. Your men will then be our front line and will do a fair bit of heavy lifting. But don't worry, we'll have your back every step of the way."
	Rosenkrantz_GM	"I am not concerned for the lives that may be lost, Captain. Our orders were soberingly clear when we first deployed." Paweb dismisses the need for reassurances. "We do, however, certainly welcome the sight of your odd-looking regiment on the ground. Is it after the LZ is secured that the armored transports will be made available to my men? To run up that hill would guarantee annihilation

	Rozen	whispers to josef
	Rozen	"did you want some raw flesh as well? It felt rude not to ask"
	Josef	"I already consumed my nutrition paste this morning. I will be fine."
	Lucrezia	"Exactly. Those transports ain't quite what I would like but it's the best we have. Use them wisely."
	Lucrezia	"And while lives will be lost, we should always do our best that they are not lost needlessly."
	Friedrich_Rosenkrantz	"Touching." he says with an impatient sigh
	Rosenkrantz_GM	"Death in service to the Emperor is the only path to attain glory, as mere mortals," one of the Colonel's lieutenants retorts.
	Rosenkrantz_GM	"Indeed, Melgaard. But the Captain speaks true. We are to hold this mutant horde for another two months. We cannot waste lives, and risk failure of our mission." Paweb replies.
	Friedrich_Rosenkrantz	"You know Captain, they seem like they wish to be meat shields."
	Lucrezia	"Well, that's not how we'll do things."
	Rozen	"ahh yes, those mobs of mutant filth. makes me SICK."
	Rosenkrantz_GM	A rune flashes on the worn command console at the center of the Bastion's command chamber.
	Rozen	puncuates this by spitting a bloody gob onto the floor
	Rosenkrantz_GM	The Colonel instinctively presses his hand against it.
	Rosenkrantz_GM	It is a report from one of your scout flights. Images appear of a small convoy entering the supply depot, some 10 minutes ago. Four armored transports.
	Lucrezia	"What do you think those are there for?"
	Lucrezia	"Leaving something or leaving with something?"
	Rosenkrantz_GM	"Recovery team," the Colonel replies without skipping a beat.
	Lucrezia	"Oh?"
	Rosenkrantz_GM	"It seems an odd thing to say, but these mutants have a hierarchy. Recovery teams are lead by the cursed leaders, who understand the value of lost or captured equipment. Whatever they've taken in, it'll be valuable. But more importantly, one of these vile mutant chiefs will be present. We must strike now, and take the opportunity to destroy their leadership," the Colonel grabs his belt
	Rosenkrantz_GM	and secures his sidearm with a swift pull of a strap.
	Lucrezia	nods and looks at everyone present. "Alright, everyone know what the plan is?"

Initial reports from the Guard tell of several fortified positions outside of the depot's walls, with manned towers overlooking the approach.
