  1. Cool Box Art FAQ:
  2.
  3. Question: You've tweeted a lot of stuff. Is there any way I can search for something?
  4. Answer: Yeah, using the phrase "from:@coolboxart" in a Twitter search can be really useful for finding something specific. If there's a game, series, console, publisher or year you're particularly interested in, try typing it in at the end of the search field and see what comes up.
  5.
  6. Q: Can I submit a suggestion?
  7. A: Sure! There's no guarantees that we'll use it, and there's no perks for submitting stuff beyond the chance of seeing it appear on our feed, but if you're fine with that, we're happy to look at what you've got. If it's a well-known game, chances are that we've posted it before, so you might want to use the "from:@coolboxart" phrase in Twitter's search field to see if it's already been done before getting in touch. (DMs are open if you really want to get our attention. Please don't abuse it.)

  9. Q: Can I put your images on my site/wiki/archive/etc. ?
  10. A: Please! We try to get the cleanest images we can before posting them on CBA, whether that means enhancing images we find online or personally purchasing and scanning the raw materials. A great perk of Cool Box Art for us is seeing passionate fans of games exposed to stuff they'd never seen before, and we want everyone to have access to it. We're not looking for personal credit either. It's just cool to contribute to the wider community.
  11.
  12. Q: I thought this was about box art. Why are you posting print ads/disc artwork/merchandise etc.
  13. A: Over the years, just posting box art has increasingly felt like an artificial limitation. I'd like to think that the account's theme reflects how artists introduce games to the public. The images they use to encourage people to play. These images have played a major role in getting people excited to try a game, particularly in the early days of consumer video games. If our followers try a game because of something we've posted, that's teriffic. There's no greater satisfaction for us. We don't like to post internal concept art as it wasn't created with that intention.
  14.
  15. Q: I've noticed your avatar changes at the start of each month. What's that about?
  16. A: We like to commemorate the most retweeted post of each prior month with an avatar based on it. If you want to route for your favourites to appear as the next month's image, retweeting will help its chances.
  17.
  18. Q: I don't like how you're doing things. I think I could do it better.
  19. A: Please, go ahead. We're not special.
  20.
  21. Q: Why did you post a dumb variant of a game? There's a much cooler alternative.
  22. A: That's probably why we posted it. We've likely done the famous version already, and it's fun to introduce people to a version they may have been unaware of.
  23.
  24. Q: How do I defeat the worm boss in Zelda 3?
  25. A: Moldorm is quick and cunning, but its weak spot is in the tip of its tail. With wisdom and patience, you will be on your way to saving Princess Zelda and restoring peace to the Kingdom of Hyrule.
  26.
  27. Q: Hmm... This tweet seems suspiciously topical...
  28. A: We're not robots. We're having fun.
  29.
  30. Q: "Cool" Box Art???????
  31. A: Yeah, we probably thought it was funny.
