  1. >”Lincoln? Did you hear me?”
  2. >He blinked, staring up at his mother. The older woman moved her attention from the dish she'd been wiping down to stare at him from over her shoulder, her curiosity over his silence showing on her face. The boy couldn't hold her gaze. He instinctively lowered his eyes to the kitchen table in front of him and shrunk away from her, as though he'd been caught doing something wrong.
  3. >”W-what? Sorry, mom.”
  4. >"Honestly, Lincoln! You've been so distracted lately. Is everything alright?"
  5. >He quickly shook his head.
  6. >"Y-yeah, I've just had a lot on my mind."
  7. >"Like what?" The older woman quirked a brow.
  8. >The question hung in the air like a bad joke. Lincoln looked up from the kitchen table at his mother, then back down. He felt his mouth open and forced himself to purse his lips together. The little boy brought a hand up to his head and dug his fingers softly in his hair. He could sense his mother's increasing unease at what seemed like his inability to answer an innocent question. Lincoln felt himself grimace as he looked away from her and, terrifyingly, noticed his eyes welling up. When he noticed Rita begin lowering the plate to go check on her son, he forced himself to cough loudly. He shut his eyes tight and made a show of scratching an itch on his head that wasn't really there, buying the time he needed to get a hold of himself.
  9. >"Nothing! It's not important."
  10. >She didn't look convinced but, at least, she was no longer coming any closer.
  11. >"...Well, your father has an announcement to make. Could you go tell your sisters to come downstairs?"
  12. >"Sure, mom."
  13. >The little boy hopped off his chair and hurried out of the kitchen, eager to escape his mother's attention. Rita stared after him for a moment with concern but was finally forced to turn away to finish doing the dishes.
  14.
  15. >He had felt just a flash of panic then, sharp and burning. The fear had surged up almost too quickly for him to compose himself. He was becoming increasingly incapable of faking normality. Lincoln made his way up the stairs, past the twins bickering on the couch, and started taking roll call with Lily and Lisa's room. He felt a looming sense of dread at even the thought of having to head to the opposite end of the second floor, but he forced it down. He struggled to find his footing as he knocked on the door and opened it without waiting for an answer.
  16. >"Mom wants us downstairs. Dad has something he needs to tell us."
  17. >"We shall deschend momentarily."
  18. >Lisa, the little genius, sat on the floor playing with their youngest sister. Lincoln watched as Lily balanced on her haunches, giggling and grasping at her big sister's fingers as she held them over the baby's face, occasionally pulling them away or pushing them closer. Lisa smiled as Lily finally grabbed her index finger with both hands, hanging on with all her strength to keep her big sister from pulling it away.
  19. >Lincoln couldn't help but linger at the entrance to their room and watch his youngest siblings play. He put a hand on the doorway and felt his fingers curl against the wood. He was dimly aware that he was gripping it very tightly, tight enough to hurt, but didn't mind or didn't care. The inside of the room, his kid sisters and the scene of normal domestic tranquility, seemed somehow very far away, and he watched with wonder as it seemed to stretch farther and farther from him the more he stared. He watched them for a while until the young scientist turned to face him again, having apparently felt his gaze boring into her back.
  20. >"Lincoln? Is there anything elsh?"
  21. >His mouth was dry.
  22. >"Do you think...", he began, and was grateful that his voice didn't crack, "Do you think I could play with you guys?"
  23. >Lisa blinked, noticing her brother's fidgeting.
  24. >"I thought we were needed downstairsh?"
  25. >Lincoln paused. There was a brief but intense feeling of vertigo as his mind rejoined him in the here and now.
  26. >"R-right. Yeah, sorry. Come down soon, okay?"
  27. >"Of courshe."
  28. >Lisa stared at her brother with curiosity as he forced himself to turn away from his younger sisters and move on.
  29.
  30. >He crossed the corridor and wrapped his hand around the doorknob to the twins' room before remembering that they were wrestling each other for the remote control downstairs. Lincoln cast his eyes down the hall again and began walking, feeling the fear and unease grip him tighter the further down he moved. He again tried to ignore it as he finally reached Lynn and Lucy's room and opened the door.
  31. >Lincoln had managed to catch the two at a relatively lazy time. Lucy sat at her desk with her journal in her hand. She'd write a few lines, pause, hold her dark purple pen to her chin, then write a few more. For her part Lynn was content to lay on her bed, tossing a baseball into the air and catching it. She'd occasionally give the goth a brief glance to see what she was up to, then roll her eyes upon confirming she was still 'nerding out'. She looked like she was just about to get up and try to talk her gloomy little sister into doing something with her when she noticed Lincoln at their door.
  32. >"Linc? What's up?" The young athlete pepped up right away when she noticed her little brother, grateful for any break in the typical sunday afternoon monotony. Lucy put down the pen and closed her book, looking over her shoulder to glance at him.
  33. >"Welcome, brother. Have you come to join us in our evening meditation? A tranquil mind does wonders for the spirit."
  34. >Lynn rolled her eyes.
  35. >"Meditation? You just keep writing in that stupid book! I've been trying to get you to play a game of catch with me for like two hours!"
  36. >"I thought an afternoon of rest might help balance out the hues in your aura."
  37. >The little jock groaned and threw herself back against the bed. She dropped the baseball and picked up a pillow, winding up to hurl it at Lucy's head, when she remembered their guest. Lynn dropped her makeshift weapon and chuckled sheepishly.
  38. >"So how about it, Linc? Up for a game?"
  39. >The little boy couldn't help but smile at their back and forth. Between their usual routine and Lisa and Lily, he felt like he'd managed to regain his balance. For his part he knew they were probably the two closest sisters in the house, even if neither of them wanted to admit it.
  40. >"Actually, mom sent me up here to round you guys up. Dad has an announcement to make."
  41. >"About what?", Lynn asked as she hopped off the bed.
  42. >He shrugged. "Beats me."
  43. >"Okay. We'll be right down." Lynn had said distractedly as she watched Lucy push herself away from her writing table and stand up, turning her back to them to straighten out her dress. The older girl smirked.
  44. >By the time Lincoln left, Lynn held her younger sister in a headlock, mussing up her dyed black hair with her free hand while the little goth hissed and flailed.
  45.
  46. >Lincoln shut the door behind him and tried not to laugh. He lingered outside for just a moment, like he had at Lily and Lisa's room. Again, there was a fleeting, vanishing sense of wellbeing at that snapshot of normality, but it was hard to hold on to. He almost felt as if he could sense the rest of the house, yawning towards him from his periphery, and he finally turned to face it. The next room over was just a few feet away. What he'd been putting off.
  47. >He found that when he began moving towards it each step was harder than the last. His feet dragged like lead bricks and he couldn't hold his chin up, maintain line of sight, the deeper he moved into the second floor corridor. His preservation instincts flared, telling all his senses that he was approaching danger the closer he moved to Leni and Lori's room, to Luna's room. Trying to force him to walk away. Three more steps and the saliva stuck in his throat. He couldn't hold his head up. His posture was bowed and stooped over. He balled his fists at his sides. A small murmur, a whimper, emerged unbidden from his throat and his eyes widened. He shut them and clenched his hands harder. It felt like he was going crazy.
  48. >His little body shook with barely supressed fear and anger as Lincoln stood there, feeling the carpet beneath the thin rubber soles of his sneakers, listening to the distant household din provided by his noisy family that carried on, unheeding. He knew he must have looked ridiculous. He knew the hall, the house, was indifferent to his stupid panic attack. The sudden rush of self-loathing at the spectacle he must have been making of himself was so overwhelming it almost knocked the wind out of him. He could feel his forehead break out in a cold sweat and bowed his head lower.
  49. >"Heya, Linc!"
  50. >A feminine hand suddenly clasped his shoulder. The sheer spike of jagged ice cold panic that instantly shot through his body almost made him crack his teeth, the young man suffering an immediate headache as he felt the bottom drop out of him and all the blood rush to his legs while his body made to jump. The habit painstakingly trained into him by his oldest sister not to try and struggle and not to try and run competed with his natural instincts to seek safety and left him frozen, every muscle in his back tight, stomach churning with insane stress and anxiety. He forced himself to turn his neck, SLOWLY, not breathing, to face his sister. He tried not to show emotion on his face. Not to display the fear that was making his temples throb and bile bubble at the bottom of his throat, burning his larynx.
  51. >"H-hey Luan," he squeaked, struggling not to let his eyes water in front of her.
  52. >The bracefaced little comedienne had been beaming down at him but instantly recoiled when she saw how tense his expression was.
  53. >"Geez, Lincoln! I've never seen you so pale!" Luan furrowed her brow, suddenly crossing her arms. The minute her hand left his shoulder he almost gasped as he felt his body allow itself to breathe again. He blinked a couple of times, gawping at his older sister. "What's the matter? Did Lucy suuuuck your blooood~?"
  54. >"Not yet, mortal."
  55. >Luan yelped and practically jumped into Lincoln's arms after their spooky little sister piped up from behind her skirt. Lincoln felt his airway immediately seal up again as Luan wrapped her arms around him. He could feel her small jackrabbitting heart pound against his chest, feel the soft skin of her neck against his cheek and smell her shampoo as her ponytail tickled his nose.
  56. >"Lucy!" She cried as she loosened her death grip on him, somewhat uncoiling her arms from around his neck. She pulled her chin off the back of her younger brother's shoulder and turned to glare at the little goth. "You scared the peanuts out of me!"
  57. >Lincoln didn't hear their argument as Luan held her cheek against his. Their voices seemed washed out and distant. All he could really feel was her hands over his back, her soft skin against his, the warmth of her chest over his own. Every so often Lucy would answer something and Luan would snap back at her, and Lincoln would feel a puff of heat next to his face, her breath, and smell her toothpaste and strawberry lip gloss. He noted, with a horror at first distant and perplexed but quickly becoming the only thing he could think about, that his body was starting to respond to her. He could feel himself hardening, his breath getting even shallower, and he became dizzy and nauseous.
  58. >"That's once a year! I-...Lincoln?" Luan felt her little brother gulp against her, hard. She turned to look at him and blinked as she noticed the flush over his cheeks. He'd been so pale just a second ago. His eyes looked unfocused and she was seeing droplets of sweat bloom around his hairline before her very eyes. "L-Lincoln? Are you alright?"
  59. >He didn't answer her at first. She slowly pulled herself off of him, worried, and once again he felt the air rush back into his lungs the second she stopped touching him. He tried not to gasp as the oxygen circulated through his deprived body, almost falling over with the vertigo of it.
  60. >"I-I'm fine." He deadpanned automatically, eyes wide as he stared directly at Lucy's face, at where her eyes would have been if her coal-black bangs didn't hang over them like sludge.
  61. >"You sure don't LOOK fine!" Luan protested, and his breath hitched when she grabbed his wrist. "...Your heart's racing! Oh my gosh! Lincoln? What's the matter!?"
  62. >There was a long silence as the young boy slowly, mechanically, broke his gaze from Lucy and forced himself to turn and look up at Luan. He gawped at her again, unable to produce any words as he stared into her eyes, which only caused her to worry more. It felt like he was watching all this from outside of his body. He noted, dully, that unless he pulled himself together Luan wasn't far from panicking. She became more agitated, her demands that he say something more shrill. A sudden sense of illness throbbed powerfully against his temples, and just when he felt like he was about to throw up he heard his little sister's soothing, monotone voice pierce through the bedlam and echo in his skull.
  63.
  64.
  65.
  66. >"Are you still feeling sick?"
  67.
  68.
  69.
  70. >Reality caught up to him again in another crashing wave. He blinked at her question, almost laughed. Luan stared down, puzzled, as she felt his wire-tight forearm loosen under her grip. It felt like he'd just caught a life preserver. The teenager turned to look at Lucy, then back at Lincoln.
  71. >"Yeah." The little boy ran a hand through his now sweat-slick hair as Luan stared at him. "S-sorry for worrying you guys. I got really dizzy for a second there. I thought I was over it but I guess not."
  72. >His big sister opened her mouth to say something but then paused, unsure. She pursed her lips. Just as she started to ask him a question Lincoln interrupted her.
  73. >"Hey sis, mom asked me to round everybody up for an announcement downstairs but I'm seriously not feeling good. I already told the younger kids. Would you mind letting Luna, Leni and Lori know?"
  74. >She stared at him, still looking like she wanted to ask him something, but finally nodded. "S-sure, Lincoln. Go chill out on the couch. Nobody's taken the good seat yet."
  75. >"Thanks!" He croaked up at her, smiling. She hesitated for a moment before returning the smile and ruffling his hair. "You little goofball..." She murmured, a faint trace of concern still lingering in her voice even as she gamely tried to pretend she wasn't worried. Lincoln gave her waist a quick hug before turning and heading over to the bannister, walking down the stairs. The two girls stared off after him. He felt both their eyes on his back before Luan finally turned away to collect the rest of his sisters. Lucy watched him the whole way down.
  76.
  77. -----------------------------------------------------
  78.
  79. >"So kids, I'm sure you're all wondering what this is about."
  80. >A chorus of voices went up from around the living room as Lynn Sr. stared at his whole family from in front of the television, obviously pleased with himself. The younger kids sat at the foot of the couch, the older ones on it, and a few like Luna slung themselves over the back. Luan had insisted the sisters allow Lincoln the seat on the far right corner of the couch against the armrest, 'the sweet spot', on account of him not feeling well, and had taken the seat next to him for good measure. Rita sat in the armchair, bouncing a giggling Lily on her knee, and at her feet had one twin on either side of her. Lana and Lola sat with their arms crossed, scowling at each other over their mom's thighs. Every so often one of them would try and grab at the other, forcing Rita to tut-tut them and break it up by stretching her leg, which caused the baby perched on her knees to giggle.
  81. >"Seriously, dad! Don't you know this is when Tots and Tiaras is on!?" Lola protested.
  82. >"Nuh-uh! It's when Swampfolk is on!"
  83. >"Ugh!" Lola grimaced, giving a full-body shudder. "That show is so gross! Have the people in that place even HEARD of proper skin maintenance!?"
  84. >"YOU'RE gross!" Shrieked an outraged Lana before diving for her sister.
  85. >"Girls, girls!" Protested Rita, scooping up a laughing Lily and holding her close to her chest, safely above the squabbling kittenfight going on at her feet. "Behave yourselves or NEITHER of you gets to watch your show!"
  86. >"But mooooooooom~" The twins froze and whined in unison, hands still gripping fistfuls of each other's hair.
  87. >"No buts! Now listen to what your father has to say." The two blondes huffed as they disentangled themselves from each other and sat back on either end of the armchair, the rest of the family observing them with amusement. The twins' fights were a daily occurrence of late, yet every time someone offered to switch rooms with them they'd cling to each other and tearfully ask why they were trying to split them up.
  88. >"Anyway..." Continued Lynn Sr., staring at the two hellions out of the corner of his eye with no small amount of suspicion. He finally returned his attention to the rest of his family. "I've got great news!"
  89. >All at once another din went up as the sisters tried to lay claim to the good fortune.
  90. >"The Lions signed that free safety from Syracuse!?"
  91. >"The zoning commission approved the plans for the graveyard the Happy Travels group has been trying to build on West 83rd."
  92. >"You've finally sheen shense and got me that piece of plutonium I've been ashking for? I could bring the house's electricity bill down to zero while shtill having enough left over for some very promishing eckshperi-"
  93. >"Mom's having another baby!"
  94. >A stunned silence fell over the living room as every person present turned to stare at Leni.
  95. >"...What?" She asked innocently.
  96. >They turned from her to look at Lynn Sr., who'd almost instantly broken out in a flopsweat. He could only stare back, speechless, before turning to Rita.
  97. >For her part their mother sat relaxed, calmly flicking her eyes between her husband on one hand and their gaggle of children on the other, until finally reacting when she realized they were seriously entertaining her daughter's guess.
  98. >"What? No!"
  99. >"Oh thank goodness." Murmured the patriarch before Rita shot him a dirty look. "N-not that another kid wouldn't be a blessing! Hahaha!" He dabbed the sweat off his rapidly receding hairline with his bare hand.
  100. >"A-anyway," he continued, noticing his wife still glaring at him from the corner of his eye. "It's not like we couldn't afford it if she was! Because your dad just got PROMOTED!"
  101. >A cheer went up around the house as Lynn Sr. and Rita shared a look of quiet happiness. He'd shared the news with her earlier. She was proud of her husband.
  102. >"That's wonderful! Give us the details, daddy!" Chirped Lola as she jumped at his feet and tugged at one of his pantlegs.
  103. >"Yeah, pop! C'mon! Give us the dirt!" Lana joined her sister's needling as she mirrored her at his other leg. Lynn Sr. scooped the both of them up as they giggled and struggled against him.
  104. >"Apparently one of the higher-ups heard about what a big..." He raspberried one of the twins' bellies as she squirmed in his arms, "Beautiful," he did the same to the other amidst increasing peals of laughter from the two, all with the rest of the family staring on at them happily, "Family I have!" The newly minted executive finally finished, dropping the kids gently back on the ground.
  105. >"He couldn't believe no one had told him about me before! He took one look at my record at the office and decided I was just the sort of man they needed up on the top floor! Things are really picking up in our sector with all the factories reopening in the city, you know! And they think that a guy with my long history at the company and big, wholesome family is just the sort of image they want to project to both customers and prospective hires. So with all that said..." He gave a long pause for effect, just enough to exasperate his eager audience, before finishing the sentence right when they began opening their mouths to complain, "You're looking at the new SENIOR vice president of marketing for the entire eastern seaboard!" He beamed at his kids, obviously overcome himself. "The gig comes with a company car, a corner office at the top floor, even a penthouse in New York for when I have to go in on business!"
  106. >Lynn Jr.'s eyes widened.
  107. >"Dad! That's crazy! Just how big of a promotion is this?"
  108. >"It's big, kiddo!" He answered back quickly, obviously delighted to at last be able to share this with his family. "You might not see too much of me for a while-", the laughter and joy passing amongst his children dulled a little at this, and they all quieted down to stare at him again. Lynn Sr. caught himself and waved his hands in panicked dismissal. "B-But only for a little while! I have to go through executive training at company headquarters in Manhattan. But guys! The signing bonus alone is enough to send half of you to college! GOOD college! And that's before incentives like the family health plan, the corporate retirement program, the executive life insurance po-"
  109. >"Life insurance?"
  110. >A hush fell over the room once more. Even the girls who had ignored the revelation that their father might have to leave home for a while and continued eagerly discussing what his new position might mean for them dropped their conversations at this, turning away from each other to stare at him.
  111. >"W-why would you need that?
  112. >"Dad? Are you sick?"
  113. >"We'll go to a doctor! We'll go to a doctor!"
  114. >All at once most of the girls scrambled off the couch to see who could get their arms around him first. The slower ones had to settle for hugging his butt or his arm, but all the same Lynn Sr. soon found himself in a crush of young women and little girls all trying to love him back to health. He shared an exasperated smile with his wife who struggled not to laugh as even the baby she cradled babbled and stretched her arms out towards her father, squirming in her arms.
  115. >"Kids, kids..." He hugged each of his daughters back before shooing them off of him and back towards their places around the coffee table. "I'm fine! Look, this is a great opportunity for us. I promise I'll fly back as often as I can, alright? You won't even notice I'm gone."
  116. >"We'll notice, dad." It was Luna who finally spoke up this time from her perch on the back of the couch. The other girls turned to gawp at her in wonder. The young musician had been exceedingly quiet around the house lately. It was hard to get two words out of her, and never anything unprompted. No one had even heard her sing for a couple of weeks now. There were heavy bags under her eyes and she was in obviously delicate health but she still made the effort to put on a smile. Lynn Sr. smiled back at her gingerly.
  117. >"Thanks, rockstar. You still not over that thing you caught from Lincoln?"
  118. >Luna flinched at the mention of her little brother's name. She saw him sitting at the opposite end of the couch out of the corner of her eye, but couldn't bring herself to look at him. She buried her face in her arms. "I guess not." She squeaked, pushing the words out with such obvious difficulty that it was like they were covered in barbwire.
  119. >Lynn Sr.'s expression softened as he shared another glance with Rita. "We can get you a doctor's appointment if you want, honey." Luna shook her head against the couch, not raising her face from the upholstered fabric. She raised a hand to wave him off. Lynn Sr. glanced at Rita again, who looked just as at a loss about what to do about Luna as he did.
  120. >"S-so...", Lynn Jr. began, pausing only once to briefly look back at her big sister, then over at her dad. "When do you start? You know, that executive training thing?"
  121. >"Next week." He answered sheepishly. A murmur went up again.
  122. >"So soon!?"
  123. >"You literally haven't given us enough time to process it, dad!"
  124. >"You better not have known about it and not told us!"
  125. >Again the squabbling began as the children rounded on their father. "Alright, alright!" He interrupted them, thinking quickly. "How about I make it up you guys with a trip to the mall, hmm? You can each get ONE thing! Paid for with my bonus. Now go get dressed!"
  126. >The seasoned and experienced father of eleven played to his children's greed expertly, and soon enough their grievances over his sudden absence were forgotten as he was allowed to leave to warm up the van while his kids hurried upstairs to change.
  127. >All but one, that was. The only boy of the house had sat near-listless throughout his father's entire reveal, from the joy of the initial announcement to the panic of his short-lived health scare. It was a fact that hadn't gone unnoticed by his mother. Rita remained at her armchair with Lily, unsure just what to say to get him to be honest with her.
  128. >"Lincoln, dear? Don't you want to go the mall?"
  129. >The young boy blinked, but what worried Rita was that even when it looked like he was paying attention again it didn't seem like he was fully emerging from his daze.
  130. >"No mom, I'm fine. I've been feeling a little under the weather lately, actually. I think I might have caught that bug I had again. You guys wouldn't mind if I stayed home to rest, would you?"
  131. >Lincoln turning down the chance to buy a new videogame, a rare luxury in a house where the money was as tight as theirs, only increased Rita's anxiety.
  132. >"...Of course, Lincoln. You get all the rest you need. If you're still feeling sick by monday I'll call the school and get you excused, okay?"
  133. >Lincoln smiled wanly, trying his best to reassure her. Lincoln loved his mother.
  134. >"Thanks, mom."
  135. >"Of course, honey. And hey, winter vacation's coming up soon! That'll be fun, won't it?"
  136. >The thought of being stuck in his house with his sisters for longer than he usually was didn't give Lincoln the boost Rita was hoping for. He tried not to cringe and succeeded, but his mother could still tell something was wrong.
  137. >"Yeah, mom. It's gonna be...", he sucked in a breath through his teeth. "Great." He stated joylessly, and his tense smile made her want to shake him by the shoulders and force him to be honest with her. "Really great."
  138. >He pulled himself off the couch and made his way over to the bannister. Lincoln moved off to one side as Luan appeared at the top, barreling down the stairs two at a time as she was chased by her other sisters, all of them hoping to be the first one in the van and avoid the crummier seats.
  139. >"Luan, could you come over here?"
  140. >Luan turned to complain as Rita's request led her sisters to overtake her, but when she saw the expression on her mother's face she hushed and moved to join her on the couch.
  141. >"What's up, mom?"
  142. >"Have you noticed anything...wrong, with Lincoln lately?"
  143. >The normally jovial girl stiffened, staring down at her feet and fidgeting with the toes of her shoes.
  144. >"Now that you mention it..."
  145. >Rita squeezed the bridge of her nose with her fingertips and winced. "Do you have any idea what it could be? He just won't let me in."
  146. >"Lucy says he's still sick."
  147. >Her mother sighed.
  148. >"Yes, that's what he's been telling me too but it just doesn't...feel right, you know? I really think there's something he's not telling me! I feel bad asking you to do this, honey, but could you see if there's anything you can find out about what's been going on with your little brother lately? I'm really worried about him."
  149. >"Me too, mom." The jokester furrowed her brow, giving a sigh of her own. She took a deep breath and shut her eyes, apparently looking inside her for whatever it was that always gave her such humor and optimism, before finally brightening up and smiling at the older woman. "You've got nothing to worry about! Detective Luan Loud, P.I.E. is on the case!"
  150. >"P.I.E., sweetheart?" Asked a wary Rita.
  151. >Luan gave one of her characteristic chuckles. "Relax mom, I'll get to the ~bottom~ of Lincoln's ~low~ spirits."
  152. >"Alright, darling, alright." Rita sighed and pushed herself off the coach as her husband began honking from the driveway. "Do you want anything from the mall?"
  153. >"Hmm," Luan rubbed her chin while Rita pulled her coat off a nearby rack. "Some more blank DVDs would be nice. I'm almost out of drive space to save my candid camera stuff to!"
  154. >"Of course, honey. Make sure not to upload anything too embarassing about us online, okay? You know how I feel about those hidden cameras of yours." Her mother answered, opening the door to a cacophony of complaints and demands she hurry up from the girls in the van.
  155. >"I won't!" Luan shouted after her mom as she closed the door behind her. She paused for a moment before staring off at the stairs, rubbing her chin again. "Candid camera, huh...?"
  156. ------------------------------------------
  157. >It'd been her shortage of storage that had given her the idea to pore over the house's closed feed from the last couple of weeks in hopes of finding some clue about the cause of her little brother's behavior. The girl was elbow deep in her closet, rifling through DVDs and tossing them when they didn't have the right date sharpied on the front. Although she felt bad about snooping on Lincoln using tools she'd sworn to the exclusive and sacred purpose of comedy, she didn't see any way around it. Something told her he wouldn't be very forthcoming if she simply asked, and the fact was that she was as worried about him as their mother.
  158. >She adored all of her family but, although she'd never hurt her many sisters' feelings by admitting it, Lincoln was kind of her favorite. Luna was Luna, and she'd share things with her that she couldn't share with anybody, but Lincoln was her little buddy! His daily antics made her laugh so much. And he was such a good sport about her pranks, too. There was a reason her family laugh archive was mostly clips of her younger brother. Truth was, she wasn't really sure what she'd do without him. Nobody else in the family seemed to share her devotion to comedy, but she could always count on Lincoln for a laugh, an audience and, lately, even a partner in her clown act. She'd really come to depend on him.
  159. >That was part of the reason his demeanor lately had bothered her so much, try as she might have not to show it. Lincoln was a jokester like her. It just wasn't right for him to be all sick and mopey. It'd gotten to the point where she wouldn't even prank him lately, she wasn't sure he could take it. It had really been starting to bug her. The more she thought about it the happier she was her mom had given her this responsibility. She'd find out what Lincoln's issue was and help him move past it or her name wasn't Luan Loud. It was the least she could do for her special little guy.
  160. >At last Luan found her place in the video record. She had the system set to a calendar that saved a set amount of dates into each disc. About once a week she'd load a new one into the machine when it filled up, then three times a year she'd sit down and fast-forward through them for any uncatalogued comedy gold she might have missed around the house. She was having to move up her schedule but she hardly minded. This was for Lincoln, after all.
  161. >"Alright then," she began, folding her legs in front of the old CRT television in her closet and flicking on the playback button for the last missed date. She smiled as the old machine jumped to life and began displaying an image of her little brother's room. "Let's just see what you've been up to, Lincoln..."
  162. >She set the playback to 256x speed and fast forwarded through the nights from the months before, preparing herself for a nice long afternoon with her favorite comedian.
  163. -------------------------------------------------------
  164. >So far, so good. In the couple of hours she'd spent in front of the monitor she hadn't found anything to hint at what Lincoln's recent squirreliness could be due to, but she HAD come across some kneeslappers of him dancing in his underwear to Boys Will Be Boys songs, which she'd instantly saved to the permanent anthology. There was also some great stuff from when Lynn had had that fight with Lucy and roomed with him for a couple of nights that had left Luan in tears. She'd saved that too. The girl couldn't help but moon over him the more she watched. At least once a week the camera would capture him doing something genuinely funny, and that was just when he was sitting alone in his room! She really was committed to helping him now. No way was she going to let someone that had given her such great laughs have a tough time. She resolved right then and there that, no matter what it was, as soon as she figured out what was bothering him she was gonna invite Lincoln to watch some of this stuff with her. She was sure it would cheer him up. How couldn't it?
  165. >Her musings were interrupted when she reached a night from about three months before. Her eyes flicked to the top left of the monitor.
  166. >"Huh? What's Lori doing in his room at this hour?"
  167. >She'd been laying comfortably on her belly in front of the screen all this time while taking in the rapid playback, only occasionally slowing things down to get a better look or save them to a different folder for later clipping. She pushed herself off her elbows to lean in and get a closer look at what she was seeing, a smile preemptively forming on her lips at her now-instinctive anticipation of hijinx. Her eyes rapidly widened and she forced herself up on her knees, hands jumping over the controls to slow things down and make sure what she was seeing wasn't a mistake. The blood in her veins iced over.
  168. >"Oh...Oh my God..."
  169. ----------------------------------------------------
  170. >An hour later the screen showed only static. Luan laid on her back staring blankly up at the ceiling, off into space. It'd gotten dark outside by that point. The only light in her room came from the television, the wires in the back that handled the feeds connected to a now smashed console and surrounded by several broken discs. Luan listened to the crackle of the snow on the screen.
  171.
  172. -hisssssssss-
  173.
  174. >The young woman's eyes at last refocused. She took in a deep breath, held it in her chest until it started to hurt, then let it shudder out from between her lips. She knew it was time.
  175. >Luan pushed herself up to her feet, straightened out her skirt, and opened her door.
  176. >The young woman walked across the hall, eyes pointed firmly at the ground. She stopped in front of Lincoln's room.
  177. >She stood there for a long time. The house was empty.
  178. >She knocked on the door.
  179. -----------------------------------------------------
  180. >He'd spent the afternoon staring up at his ceiling trying to force himself to sleep. This was the way he'd been spending most of his time alone now. Occasionally after a lot of struggle he'd doze off, fitfully, for a couple of minutes. But he'd soon wake right back up, greeted by the same old ceiling, back to tossing and turning, back to trying not to remember. He rolled over to his side and grit his teeth. His nerves were so badly frayed that it was difficult now even to think. But that suited him just fine. Don't think. Don't think. Don't think. That mantra was the only thing keeping Lincoln's head above water anymore.
  181. >The sudden knocking on his door made his back stiffen and set his teeth on edge. His instincts by now told him to ignore it. Always ignore a knock on your door. Never talk to anybody. Just be quiet, be quiet. It stopped for a moment, but then returned. He balled his hands up into fists, pushed them against his eyes. Just go away. He bit his lip. Every single knock stabbed at his nerves, filled him with a terrible instinctive fear. Please, please just go away.
  182. >"I know you're in there, Lincoln."
  183. >He whimpered to himself, too quietly for anybody on the other side of the door to hear. He almost hadn't noticed when he'd started rocking against his bed.
  184. >"I...", he gulped, finally able to rip the words from his chest. "I'm sick. Please go away."
  185. >"I know you're not sick, Lincoln."
  186. >The voice on the other side of the door was even, measured. The little boy mewled pitifully, drawing his sheets up to his face and bunching them up, holding them against his mouth as he tried to muffle his whines enough that whoever was outside wouldn't hear them. He began rocking himself quicker, more desperately, hoping it'd send him off to sleep. Far away from here.
  187. >"Please just go away," he whispered, more to himself than to anybody else.
  188. >"I really need to talk to you."
  189. >The sentence had a tone of finality to it, enough of one that it made him still. He opened his eyes and slowly turned to face the door, letting his whimpers sputter out in his chest. He gave a long, dry swallow, staring at it with deep, unflinching contempt. He didn't know for how long.
  190. >Lincoln pushed the sheets off him. His hands didn't shake. He walked across his room, eyes on the floor, and wrapped his hand around the knob. He pulled the door open.
  191. >"Thanks." Luan didn't stop to acknowledge him, didn't wait for his invitation before stepping past him, into his room, and sitting down at the edge of his bed. Lincoln remained at the doorway. When he finally gathered the strength to turn around and look at her he saw that she was staring firmly at the floor, hands folded over her lap. Her expression was unreadable. She seemed unhappy.
  192. >"I...", she started, not quite knowing how to begin. There was a moment there where she hesitated, visibly, and despite his instincts Lincoln couldn't help but lean in just a bit.
  193. >She paused. Lincoln watched her pink tongue dart out of her mouth, giving her upper lip a long, slow lick. She bowed her head a bit more and shut her eyes. Some of the hair she hadn't pulled into her ponytail had spilled out over her face. Luan gave a long sigh.
  194. >"I know what's been happening." She muttered it more than said it. Luan didn't raise her head to look at him, didn't meet his eyes. Maybe she couldn't. She brought a hand up to her face and Lincoln noticed it tremble, only for a second, before she tucked the stray lock of hair back behind her ear.
  195. >He was was more surprised by his lack of a reaction than by anything his sister had said. He'd expected...horror, or fear, or maybe even relief. Yet he felt nothing. His reaction to the revelation that Luan had discovered what had been done to him, what was being done to him, was met with only the faintest sense of dull surprise. He opened his mouth to speak but couldn't think of anything to say. The little boy furrowed his brow and stared at the floor, just like she did.
  196. >"You know," she began, "At first I..."
  197. >She coughed. It looked like it was hard to get the words out. She still wouldn't raise her eyes from the floor and so he couldn't really see her face. To Lincoln's surprise he noticed that before he'd even realized he was doing it he had started studying her, staring at her body, paying close attention to her voice. He was searching for emotion, for horror or pain, when he couldn't find it in himself. Persistent thoughts scratched at the corners of his skull, but he made sure not to give them any attention. He knew he wouldn't like whatever they had to say.
  198. >"At first I was really scared!" She finally croaked, and it snapped Lincoln out of his stupor. He stopped watching her shoulders and waiting for them to tremble and started actually seeing his sister again.
  199. >"I was really scared because...", she brought the palm of one hand up to her face and pushed something away from her eye. "Because I was sure that our family was over."
  200. >His instincts told him to walk over and put a hand on her shoulder. Reassure her. But he didn't. He knew what he should do, what would have been right, but he just couldn't find it in himself to do it. He took in her pain with such numbness that it was like watching an ant burn under a magnifying glass. Or an ant watching a person burn.
  201. >"When I saw what Lori did that first night I..." She grit her teeth and Lincoln noticed her entire body stiffen.
  202. >"I couldn't believe it." The little boy heard more than saw the dazed smile in her voice. "I knew that as soon as...I knew that it was over, that they were going to send her away, or you away, and I just..." Her hands, folded over her lap, had started to tremble. Lincoln watched her force them down against her skirt to try to stop them from shaking and gulp to steady her voice.
  203. >"What was she thinking, right?" Luan gave a sudden, broken laugh. Lincoln noticed his shirt collar felt damp and realized, dully, that he was crying. He wiped the tears off his chin.
  204. >"But then," she continued, "I started watching you around the house. I wanted to...see...I wanted to see how of-" She gave a hard cough, wet, as the phlegm in her chest went down her airway in the middle of her sentence. He watched one of her hands curl into a fist.
  205. >"I wanted to see how often she did it." She declared testily, using her anger to keep her voice from cracking. "I wanted to see...how she did it. Where. I wanted to see." The words came out robotically. "I had to know." Lincoln said nothing.
  206. >"So then I...So when I saw how Leni, what..." She blinked as she stared at the floor, wide-eyed, again trying to find the right words. "So when I saw what Leni did, imagine how I felt!" She laughed again, still staring at the carpet.
  207. >"Imagine, Lincoln! I was scared before but now I..." She brought both her hands up and grabbed her head, letting her fingernails dig into her scalp.
  208. >Hard.
  209. >"So when I saw that I..." She hissed the words, now tense again with obvious anger. She glared at the floor and clenched her jaw. She started grinding her teeth, scowling, but then her arms trembled and her hands slackened, slowly dropping away from her head.
  210. >"But then I saw Luna." And here her voice took on a strange tone. Lincoln had watched, mesmerized, as Luan had traveled through the whole spectrum of emotion before his eyes. Disbelief, anger, pain, sadness...But he wasn't sure what this was.
  211. >"And I was relieved."
  212. >He gave only the slightest recoil at how hollow her voice sounded. As she sat there on his bed, fidgeting with her skirt, his larger-than-life big sister suddenly seemed very, very small, and fragile.
  213. >"I was relieved because..." Her voice took on an almost breathless quality, "Because I got it! I got the joke!" Luan remained hunched over, but her back was visibly tight. Her whole body was tense.
  214. >"I mean, if it had just been Luna, or Lori, or Leni, t-then what happened would have been a-a-a-something horrible! A violation!" She was babbling now, frantic, still peering wide-eyed at the carpet. "But it was all of them, Linc! They were all doing it, so it was just...So..." She started laughing, bringing her hand up to her face to wipe something away from her cheek. Her words died on her lips. She was shuddering now, trembling, on the verge of total collapse. She finally managed to lift her gaze off the floor and look her little brother in the eye. He saw her face.
  215. >"It's a joke, right?"
  216. >Luan stared at him with such immense pain that it made his chest hitch. Her eyes were red and puffy, her nose was stuffed up. The skin on her cheeks was irritated and dried out from crying and her knuckles were bone white from squeezing and twisting at the fabric of her skirt.
  217. >Yet she wore a small, hopeful smile. As fragile as once-shattered glass.
  218. >Her teeth were nearly chattering with eagerness and the unmistakeable shadow of deep, deep dread. She was desperate. But she still smiled. He watched Luan as with her eyes she screamed at him, begged him to reassure her. To tell her that it all wasn't true.
  219. >For the first time since his older sister had come into his room, Lincoln felt something.
  220. >And he flinched.
  221. >The sudden realization that came over him almost made him throw up. It was the one thing that he hadn't been prepared to face, the thought scratching at him that he'd been forcing himself to turn away from. His greatest anxiety, the source of his deepest pain.
  222. >It was knowing that even after all that had happened he still loved his sisters. All of them. And that he would never be able to stop loving them, no matter what they did.
  223. >And that he had no choice. About anything.
  224. >"Yeah, Luan." He heard himself croak, fresh tears welling in his eyes as he stared at her, unblinking. He never thought they'd be able to find another way to hurt him. "It's all just a joke."
  225.
  226. >He watched as she shut her eyes, hard, and the trembling she'd been trying to control the whole time at last rolled through her. She brought her shivering arms up to hug herself as she broke down and cried loudly, deep wrenching sobs that shook her entire body. But her earlier tentative smile now bloomed fully over her face.
  227. >"That's funny." She gulped. "That's really funny." Her sobbing was interrupted by intermittent bouts of laughter as she let herself slump off the bed to her knees. "T-thanks for letting me in on it, Lincoln."
  228. >He couldn't bear to look at her. He walked forward the few steps needed to reach her, placing his hand on her bare shoulder as he stared off over her, at the wall. Her skin was cold.
  229. >"Thank you. Thank you." She shuddered at his feet with relief, still hugging herself, striving to keep her quiet giggling from turning into wailing. She let her arms drop from her shoulders and hugged his waist.
  230. >"I love you, Lincoln. I love you so much." She forced herself to open her eyes and look up at him, but he couldn't meet her gaze. Lincoln looked away as Luan's laughter become more hysterical. She slowly began to move her hands up his body, trembling all the while, before she finally cupped his chin.
  231. >"Thank you. I'm sorry. I love you." Her eyes widened as her chest burned with the effort she made not to bawl. Luan's mind raced for everything she could say, everything she could think, before she just gave up and started kissing his chest. She felt her thumbs dampen with his tears and rubbed her face against the fabric of his shirt, began kissing up his collar, to his neck, until finally she pushed her lips against his.
  232. >Lincoln didn't move to stop her or try to fight her off. He just stared numbly, watching Luan's face as she shut her eyes and kissed him. Her arms were around his shoulders now, squeezing him hard, her fingers like claws on both of his arms.
  233.
  234. >He knew, without having to ask, that she was thanking him for lying to her. Because if it wasn't a joke then his family would have been destroyed. And Luan would have been the one who had to tell everyone. There'd be no more laughter anymore.
  235. >But since it was a joke, since it wasn't real, it was fine. It was all just a funny prank. There were pranks every day in the Loud house. And Luan was always in on them.
  236. >She was apologizing for what she had to do to make the lie true in her heart.
  237. >This was the only way she knew, the only solution her fragile, desperate mind could come up with, to make everything alright. If she joined them, and she was joking, then everything else would also be...It was all she could think of. It would all just be a meanspirited prank. Lincoln could forgive those. He always forgave her. Always forgave all of them. Her special little guy. Such a good sense of humor. Such a good little brother.
  238. >She knew what he was sacrificing for her. That's why she loved him. She understood, somewhere, as she felt his soft, frightened lips quiver against hers, that maybe she'd always felt a certain way about him. Lincoln Loud was the most selfless, noble person she'd ever known. She realized that now. Maybe a big part of her pain wasn't just knowing what Lori had done to their little brother. What she was putting him through.
  239. >Maybe a big part of her pain was knowing that Lori had had the courage to allow herself to understand something the rest of her sisters never could.
  240.
  241. >She was telling him she loved him...
  242. >Because she did.
  243. >She loved him for letting her do it. She loved him for allowing her to kiss him. She loved him for parting his lips when she prodded them with her tongue. She loved him for letting her strip off his shirt and lead him to the bed. She loved him for allowing her hands to roam over his trembling little body, over his chest and finally over his waist, slowly pushing down his pants.
  244. >"I love you." She repeated breathlessly, breaking away briefly from his lips so she could say so. "I love you." She kissed at his jaw, eyes still shut, as her hand at last curled over his manhood. There was a sharp hitch in her chest when she felt the soft, silky skin of her little brother's bare penis against her fingertips.
  245. >The knowledge of what she was holding, WHO she was holding, made her dizzy with an anxiety she tried to control and a sick thrill that, she discovered with dawning horror, she couldn't. Lincoln's hardening cock in her hand felt so good, so right, that she realized it was making her heart soar despite herself.
  246. >How long had she actually wanted this? How much of it was just an excuse? She shut her eyes and forced herself not to think about it, concentrating instead on the feeling of Lincoln's soft skin against her hand. On making her little brother feel good.
  247. >Her voice had taken on a dreamy quality. At first Lincoln didn't respond. He just stared at the ceiling and tried to think about other things. Ignore the feeling of her warm body against his. Her familiar hand, his sister's hand, now happily jerking him off. Keep some small place to hide in. But when he felt her pause and hesitate against him, sensing how far away he was, how hard he was trying to protect himself, he faltered. He knew that the fantasy was in danger of breaking down, that the lie she was trying to make herself believe was coming undone. When he felt a flutter in her chest, the beginning of a sob, he forced himself to speak.
  248. >She'd found a way to make him be there for it.
  249. >"I love you too, Luan."
  250. >It was true. Lincoln Loud loved all his sisters. He only hated himself, for not being able to stop.
  251. >He felt her whole body shudder against his chest, his words stabbing through her like a knife. Luan choked up.
  252. >"I love you! Lincoln!" She shouted desperately. Tears began to stream down her face as she forced her lips roughly against his in a deep, scorching kiss. She kissed him like she was trying to make him know her heart through the kiss.
  253. >"I love you so much!" She insisted as she finally felt him stiffen in her hand and began moving down his body. He felt her hair tickle his chest as she rubbed her face across his abdomen, over his stomach and finally settling at his thigh. He knew he couldn't scream, no matter how much he wanted to.
  254. >"I love you." She sighed and her warm breath rolled over his crotch, making him stiffen even more, his back jumping at the sensation. She giggled at his reaction, the short puffs of air on his dick almost making his hips rock, but he forced himself to lay still. She smiled and leaned forward to bump her nose on his cock, blowing on it while she laid against him. Precum began to bead on the head. Luan smiled serenely as she turned her face to look him directly in the eyes.
  255. >"I love you." She announced sincerely, one last time, before she leaned in and kissed his achingly hard penis.
  256. >Lincoln whimpered, his back stiffening, as Luan's lips closed over his dick. His whole body shook with an instinctive delight he deeply resented as after all the teasing she finally took him into her mouth. Her tongue rubbed over the head with what could almost be called tenderness, dutifully lapping up his precum, the young woman shuddering when she felt his taste bloom in her mouth. He felt chills shoot up his spine as her breath washed over his stomach, but it was only when her braces briefly brushed against his sensitive flesh that he started feeling nauseous. They were a reminder of who this was. It was his big sister who had her head in his lap. It was his big sister who was sucking eagerly on his cock. It was his big sister who was trying to make him cum.
  257. >He shut his eyes and forced his hips not to raise to meet her as she began bobbing her head. Luan began to take him deeper and deeper into her throat as Lincoln's mind swam and her hands rubbed his legs with encouragement. He almost screamed everytime she pursed her lips and mewled and it felt like she was eating him up, her throat working his cock with every swallow and making him shudder and moan. His body cried out for any relief from the whirlwind of sensation his young mind was so hopelessly unprepared for. He groped at his sheets blindly, feeling the fabric against his skin as he scrabbled for any purchase, until he felt artificial fur brush against his fingertips. His trembling hand reached down and grasped Bun-Bun, seizing on it, escaping into the familiar, comforting sensation of his best friend's soft fur against his skin.
  258.
  259. >It was no use.
  260. >The little boy blinked his eyes slowly as he felt Luan start to coax the orgasm out of him. His breath became shallower and more ragged, a blush creeping over his cheeks as he found he couldn't swallow. Lincoln felt his big sister finally bottom out on him, her lips pressed firmly against the base of his crotch, his heart racing despite himself, and just when he was about to cum felt her pull back. His sensitive cock broke from her lips with a wet pop as Luan struggled to regain her breath. His overstimulated penis practically vibrated in front of the young woman's nose, Lincoln whimpering as the warm saliva it was covered in mixed with the cool night air to leave him frozen, helpless, on the edge. Luan giggled softly before pushing herself forward, nuzzling her little brother's spit-soaked dick, pursing her lips against it and mumbling those three words against his yearning, eager boyhood.
  261. >"I love you~"
  262. >Lincoln gave a short, broken gasp, a cry of surprise, and horror, and shame, and erupting self-hatred, as the vibrations seemed to roll up his cock and into his heart, his mind. He couldn't help the tears from forming in his eyes as he came, hips squirming against the bed as he tried to pull away, Luan instantly clamping her lips over his head and pushing her mouth deeper against his manhood when he did, her hands on his legs, her thumb rubbing affectionate circles against his thigh.
  263. >Lincoln choked on his grief as his balls pulled tight, unloading string after string of thick, potent sperm into his sister's mouth. His small hips lunged forward weakly as Luan noisily slurped away, her throat rising and lowering, swallowing everything he gave her with every new surge of cum. Lincoln squeezed Bun-Bun tight enough to feel his seams stretch as sparks exploded behind his eyes, struggling uselessly to control himself as his body gave more and more of himself to yet another one of his sisters. Luan merely rubbed his legs happily, trying to coax the last of it out of him. When the tremors at last stopped jolting through the little boy's body and he collapsed back against the bed, drained, she finally pulled away.
  264. >Lincoln didn't lower his eyes to look at her as he listened to her swallowing, only allowing himself to keep staring up at the ceiling. He was already exhausted but he knew it wouldn't be over with just this.
  265. >It never was.
  266. >He felt Luan tremble against his legs as his cum dripped, thick as treacle, down her throat. He sensed that she'd opened her mouth to say something, make some comment on it, but she couldn't manage it. Instead she just gave a long, satisfied groan. Lincoln grit his teeth.
  267. >He felt her move over his body again. There was the briefest sensation of warm, soaked fabric against his thigh as Luan shifted. He felt her move her legs and sensed her sneaking her hand under her skirt. She curled her fingers and wiggled her hips, tugging something off her. Lincoln knew what it was. When she settled over his lap again, hands on his stomach, legs on either side of him, he immediately felt the heat radiating from between her legs. His big sister began squirming on top of him, giving short, shallow breaths. His cock reacted instinctively, slowly beginning to harden, and he felt her stiffen sharply with delight when she felt his manhood press up against her butt. There was a long pause.
  268. >"I love you, Lincoln." She declared again and the boy sniffled and shut his eyes. Her fingers wrapped around his cock and he gasped as he felt his sensitive head brush against the rough fabric of her skirt, Luan groping blindly as she lined him up with her aching womahood. Her hand trembled with anticipation.
  269. >He gave another cry when he felt her sweltering pussy suddenly press against his cock. The little boy's throat swelled with a sob he forced back down, stomach roiling, as Luan lazily rubbed his cockhead over her clit, her nectar dripping down his shaft. She finally fit him snugly against her and started easing herself down.
  270. >Lincoln's eyes snapped open at the sensation. Inside she was hot enough to burn and tight enough to wrench a gasp from his throat. He was finally forced to confront the sight he'd been trying to hide from: his big sister Luan, straddling his waist, her expression senseless with bliss as she stared off into space while his cock sank deep into her little pussy. He felt a moan creep up on him but forced it down, shutting his eyes again and balling his fists with the struggle of it. He was using all his energy to keep from making any noise, muscles tense with the effort, when he suddenly felt a hand on his face.
  271. >Lincoln's breath froze in his chest and his body stilled. Her thumb rubbed his cheek. It moved up slowly, over the side of his nose and up the bridge, and traced over his eyebrow. His eyes remained shut as Luan began rocking her hips. His cock was now soaked in her honey, the glow of their combined warmth making him feel dizzy and sick. Through the motion of her body he could somehow sense every contour of her. Even with his eyes shut, even with his hands at his sides, he could somehow see perfectly in his mind's eye every curve of Luan's body, see her gasping and writhing on top of him. He couldn't escape it.
  272. >Lincoln had hugged her this morning. Now she was fucking him. Every one of her moans frayed his threadbare nerves like steel wool on his brain.
  273. >He sensed her leaning over him, pulling her hairband off with one hand as she moved closer. Her hair fanned out over the sides of his face as she bent down and pushed her forehead against his. He could smell her breath again, just like this morning, feel it against his face, going up his nostrils, fill his lungs. His chest fluttered.
  274. >Her thumb moved down, just outside the corner of his temple, lower over his chin. All the while her hips continued pumping against him, forcing his cock into and out of her tight teenage pussy. He groaned. Her walls caressed him eagerly, her cunt stretched tight on his cock. Each movement of her slim body felt like it pushed him deeper inside of her, until all he could feel, all his mind had room for, was Luan. Her body. Her smell. He could taste her sweat in the damp, stuffy room. He wanted to fuck her. He wanted to disappear.
  275. >Her thumb moved out and then back over his mouth, pressing down gently over his buck teeth. He couldn't help the sudden, pained whine that shot up his body and out of his lips. But then he felt the pad of her thumb move up again, slowly, and wipe a newly formed tear away from his cheek. Luan's hips stilled.
  276. >He opened his eyes.
  277.
  278. >He'd expected fawning adoration, perhaps lustful eagerness.
  279. >Maybe even 'love'.
  280. >What he saw instead was an expression of unmistakeable sorrow. Luan stared down at him with a fragile, apologetic smile. Her eyebrows were knit together with worry and pain.
  281. >"I'm sorry, Lincoln."
  282. >As he opened his mouth to speak he felt her cunt instantly squeeze him. Whatever words he meant to say instead came out as a choking gasp. His eyes watered as he felt his orgasm arrive from nowhere, lungs burning as his hips instinctively threw themselves against his big sister in an involuntary effort to get his sperm as deep inside her as he could. Luan's eyes widened as her little brother suddenly fucked her hard, lips trembling with a hundred questions before she felt him ejaculate, his cock flush against her cervix, shooting spoonful after spoonful of potent cum into her underage womb. Tears fell from her eyes as she tried uselessly to keep herself from cumming, toes rapidly curling with the most intense orgasm of her life, the natural ecstasy of her insemination cascading through her and making her hiss incoherently. She tried not to fuck him back but her cunt frantically massaged his manhood in its attempts to extract as much cum from her little brother as possible.
  283. >Lincoln's eyes rolled backwards as he felt her tears splash on his chest, her pussy practically stroking him off inside her, and the muscles in his neck gave out. He felt his head fall back on his pillow and off to the side, felt himself drooling, but couldn't even keep his tongue from lolling out of his mouth. His stomach started to hurt as he endured yet another orgasm that felt like it would never end, his sister now still as a statue, literally holding her breath as she sat helplessly atop him, her pussy working everything it could from him against her will, his cock throbbing inside her. He heard her whimper, almost whine, in the merciless throes of her own climax. Seemingly endless ribbons of cum surged out of the little boy and flooded her pussy until it dripped back down over his shaft, until he felt like he didn't have anything left to give. His cock pulsed with painful empty jerks even after he had exhausted himself. He could barely breathe.
  284.
  285. >After what felt like an eternity his orgasm finally ebbed. His muscles, so tight, loosened just enough that he could get some air back into his lungs and he shuddered against the mattress. It was like having his head held underwater. What little fire remained in him guttered out, the last of his strength draining away as he retreated back into himself. Luan remained paralyzed for a bit longer before the electricity finally stopped shooting through her as well. He felt her first slump, then nearly collapse over him, her back giving out from exhaustion.
  286. >She rested her head against him as she heaved in great lungfuls of air, her fluttering eyelashes tickling his jaw when she pressed her face against his neck. His chest twitched every time she exhaled, her breath cooling the droplets of sweat on his skin, sending jolts of sensation to his overworked mind. Neither of them said anything. They concentrated on breathing.
  287. >For a long time all he could hear, feel, was the blood rushing through his ears. The pain deep at the pit of his stomach. Something feeling like it was broken inside him, finally. A broken faucet. He stared off into space that way for a while, basking in a misery by now totally familiar to him. His sperm dripped out of her pussy and over his sack, cooling quickly in the night air, making him tremble. He just laid there.
  288. >It was only when he felt his sister's body shudder as she hiccuped against him that he realized she was crying. Lincoln blinked awake from his stupor as his chest dampened with her tears. She said nothing, merely gave short, hacking sobs as she wept on top of him.
  289. >They laid there like that for a good while, Luan pressing her face against his chest harder every time she felt like she was about to lose her grip on herself. After a long, long time, during which all Lincoln could bring himself to do was stare off into space, Luan's visceral sobs finally stopped rattling through her delicate frame. She pulled herself off of him and he turned to stare at her.
  290. >She turned away.
  291. >Her hands groped blindly over the bed for her panties, at last finding them and shakily pulling them over her legs. His big sister just sat there, refusing to look at him. She finally opened her mouth to say something, then was interrupted by a hack so dry and painful it made her wince.
  292. >She gave a long sigh.
  293. >Then a small, weak giggle.
  294. >Luan finally turned to him, forcing herself to smile, even as her upper lip trembled and her eyes were so bleary and red they ached.
  295. >"...Get it...?"
  296.
  297. ---------------------------------------------------------------
  298. >He'd continued to lay there for a while after she wobbled out of his room. When he could no longer stand the smell of sex and violence he at last rolled off his bed, pulling up his pants. He noted dully that Luan had been a virgin as he gathered his bloodied sheets.
  299. >Lincoln smelled the coffee as he opened the door. He made his way down the stairs carefully with the soiled linens over his arms. He'd noticed Luan in the kitchen on his way to the washing machine, sitting at the dinnertable with her back turned to him. Her ponytail was still undone and her shoulders trembled. He said nothing as he descended into the basement and shoved the day's load into the wash. Lincoln started the timer and made his way back, up the stairs and back to his room. He paused at the doorway.
  300. >It was only now he noticed Bun-Bun sitting in the middle of the carpet, having seemingly tumbled off the bed when he pulled away the sheets. The little boy bent down to pick up his stuffed animal. It felt moist to the touch. He tried not to let his hands shake as he turned it over to get a better look. It had apparently found itself under the siblings and gotten dirtied. Lincoln calmly began rubbing the stuffed rabbit with his shirtsleeve, trying to dry off the blood and cum so that it wouldn't stain the little rabbit's clothes. It didn't seem to be any use. The grime had mostly set by now. He spat on it, hoping the moisture would help, and returned to rubbing his sleeve against the toy. The filth would not come off. It looked like that was just how Bun-Bun was going to look from now on. Lincoln felt himself sink to his knees, rubbing his sleeve on it until his wrist hurt, but he finally set it back down.
  301. >He just didn't know what to do.
  302.
  303. >Luan's hands trembled as she brought the coffee up to her lips. As the first burst of agonized screaming erupted from upstairs she winced and dropped her mug, the howling quickly followed by the clamor of Lincoln yanking his drawers out of their cabinets and hurling them against the walls. Of things being smashed. Of things breaking. She pulled her chin against her chest and started giggling hopelessly, holding her hands over her ears to block out the crashing and shattering.
  304. >"Why did the scarecrow get promoted!? He was outstanding in his field! What did the two oceans say to each other!? Nothing, they just waved! Why is Peter Pan always flying!? Because he neverlands!"
  305. >Luan sat there with her hands over her ears, rocking back and forth, laughing desperately at her own punchlines as she tried to drown out the noise.
  306. >It continued for some time.
  307. -------------------------------------------------------------
  308. >The young girl was still sitting at the kitchen table by the time her family finally returned. The sounds of cheering and laughter echoed up the driveway as the girls fawned over their father and showed off their gifts to each other. There were some small arguments, there always were, but the good humor in the air was obvious. Luan just sat bleary-eyed, staring out the kitchen window over the now empty mug in her hand, as she heard the door open and her family stream in. She shut her eyes and sucked in a nervous breath. They had arrived very late and so she hoped they would just go right to bed without checking in on her and Lincoln. She wasn't sure she was up to answering her mother's questions. There was a deep sense of relief when she heard the heavy footfalls of her parents and sisters walking up the stairs, bypassing the kitchen. The young woman gave a shaky sigh.
  309. >"LINCOLN LOUD! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!?"
  310. >Luan nearly screamed as she jumped out of her chair, racing up the stairs and towards her little brother's room. The whole family was crowded outside Lincoln's door. She couldn't see inside.
  311. >"Wait! W-wait!" She pushed past her sisters until finally making it to the middle of the throng. Lincoln sat on the carpet in the middle of his room, staring dazedly up at his father as he thundered in his face. The boy held a stuffed rabbit in his hand. His father, meanwhile, pointed angrily at the broken models, laptop, drawers.
  312. >"Wait! Wait!" Luan insisted, now frantic, insane with panic, totally unprepared to deal with such a thing but muscling through for the sake of her family. For the sake of keeping things from breaking apart. She couldn't quite make it through the last line of sisters. It felt like some sort of nightmare. It was as Lynn Sr. finally raised a hand to Lincoln in anger that she screamed.
  313. >"STOP!"
  314. >She finally broke through. Her mother stood over Lincoln with her arms crossed, a look of deep worry on her face, whereas all the sisters just turned to stare at Luan.
  315. >"Mom, I...I looked into that thing you wanted me to! It's important!"
  316. >"Luan," Rita hesitated, turning her disappointed eyes away from her son to glance at the panicked girl. "Can this wait?"
  317. >"N-no, it can't! And it's...related to dad, too!"
  318. >Rita gave a long sigh, uncrossing her arms and placing her hands on her hips. Lynn Sr. continued to stew with obvious rage, staring at his son out of the corner of his eye. Lincoln merely bowed his head. His legs were pulled up tight against his chest.
  319. >"Alright Luan, was is it?"
  320. >"It's..." Her mind raced. She looked around at her sisters, all staring at her. She stumbled forward into the room, past her parents, and turned to look at them. "The reason..."
  321. >Rita tapped her toe against the carpet. "Well?"
  322. >"The reason Lincoln's been acting the way he has...You know, sad and s-strange..." Lynn Sr.'s brow quirked in surprise, turning away from his son to stare at Luan. Lori leaned forward over Luna, who was standing in front of her, with keen interest at what their little sister might say. The young rocker shivered as she felt her eldest sister's breath on the back of her neck.
  323. >"What do you mean Lincoln's been acting sad and strange?" The patriarch of the family asked his wife. There was still an obvious edge of anger to Lynn Sr's voice, but also a trace of worry and concern. It gave Luan the opening she needed. Rita shushed her husband.
  324. >"The reason Lincoln's been acting like this is because he feels like...like dad hasn't been paying any attention to him! Like he doesn't care! I-it was really bothering him! He misses spending time with you so much, a-and when he heard that you were leaving, and who knows when you're coming back, well..." Luan motioned desperately to the state of the room surrounding her. Her eyes welled up as she struggled to come up with details to improve her lie, to save her little brother, but it was her tears themselves and her obvious distress that did the work in selling the fiction to her parents.
  325. >Lynn Sr. recoiled. He turned to stare at his wife, then down at his son and the stuffed animal he held. Some of the anger began to slowly drain out of him, shoulders slumping. He struggled to think of something to say, his wife bringing a hand up to her mouth in surprise as she stared down at her son.
  326. >"Oh, sweetheart..." She murmured.
  327. >The little boy's father gave a long sigh, crossing his arms and rubbing the palm of his hand against his forehead.
  328. >"Alright girls, all of you go to bed. Me and Lincoln need to have a talk."
  329. >A chorus of disapproval went up from the gathered young women as they began to argue with their father, but he would have none of it.
  330. >"Everybody to bed NOW! I need to talk to my son."
  331. >This quieted most of them down and the gaggle of girls grumblingly walked away. All but one.
  332. >As Luan began slinking out of the room, she felt a hand on her shoulder. She turned to face her mother. The older woman looked down at her with relieved, thankful eyes.
  333. >"Thanks for telling us about this, sweetie." There was a pause as she squeezed her shoulder. "You're a good big sister."
  334. >Luan stared at her mother for a second before turning, noticing Lori hanging outside the room. The two girls made eye contact.
  335. >Lori smirked.
  336. >Luan stiffened and shut her eyes, her big sister turning on her heel and walking away with an obvious spring in her step. She wanted to throw up. Instead, she laughed. After all, her mother had just told her the best joke she'd heard all day.
