- Re: http://www.droid-life.com/2014/04/23/att-announces-new-4g-lte-markets-rollout-to-complete-this-summer/
- Information retrieved on April 23, 2014 via http://maps.eng.t-mobile.com/
- Note: T-Mobile might be upgrading some of these areas, so their changes might not have been reflected on their coverage maps until these areas have been officially launched with the changes.
- Note 2: This comparison is only here to show how a lower-cost carrier with much less spectrum holds up to one with much more.
- Note 3: Coverage is about where YOU are most of the time and might visit, not if coverage is good where you'll never go.
- Of the 6 new AT&T areas with LTE, T-Mobile has:
- - 1 LTE area
- - 0 "4G" areas
- - 1 3G area
- - 1 2G area
- - 3 roaming areas
- - 0 no service area
- So, of the 6 areas, 4 of them will have very poor data performance but seemingly fine voice/text coverage.
- The list:
- - RM: Ketchikan, Alaska
- - LTE: Maui, Hawaii
- - 2G: Cambridge, Ohio
- - 3G: Meadville, Pa.
- - RM: Parkersburg, W. Va.
- - RM: Marietta, Ohio
