- So I decided to try and find as many Kanji as possible that could be used to spell Kinue.
- きぬえ - Kinue in Hiragana
- キヌエ - Kinue in Katakana
- 絹恵 - Kinu + e
- 絹枝 - Kinu + e
- 絹江 - Kinu + e
- 絹 = silk
- 恵 = grace/mercy/benevolence
- 枝 = branch/bough/twig/sprig
- 江 = inlet
- 衣 - Kinu = clothes/robe/gown/batter coating/bread-crumb coating
- 着 - Ki (when used with Kinu) = put on/wear/dress/clothe/cover
- 布 - Kinu = cloth
- 縫 - Nu = sew/stitch
- 濡 - Nu = get wet/drenched/damp
- 鵺 - Nue = creature of Japanese folklore
- And apparently, the sentence 濡れ衣を着せられる means "To be wrongly accused". I'm using
- http://www.saiga-jp.com/
- and I just came across that example sentence here
- http://www.saiga-jp.com/cgi-bin/dic.cgi?m=search&sc=0&f=0&j=%E6%BF%A1
- I think it's really interesting that the three Kanji used in that sentence are used in "Kinue".
