- Who would have thought a Steel team needed a mega to be a real threat?
- The Steel type is a really good type with a lot of coverage.
- Aegislash's ban is useless when you can use Doublade, it is THE counter for Terrakion, Mega-Medicham and any other physical fighting sweepers.
- So the Challenge was: Doublade-Bisharp, this core was great.
- These are 2 wonderful Pokemon I really like to use.
- First, Bisharp, as you already know can take on psychic teams alone after 1 Swords Dance, so you've already covered 10% of the metagame, which is very good.
- And in case of a Will O Wisp, just put a Lum Berry on it or make the switch to Heatran, second option is nice because you can get Flash Fire actived.
- Bisharp's set is classic, so i won't say anything further.
- Next we talk about one of my favorite steel Pokemon: Doublade.
- Having an immunity to Fighting is great, I know, Skarmory is too here but immunity is better for say, choiced mons that are locked into a Fighting move..
- It can easily take a Knock off from Bisharp and 0HKO back with Sacred Sword, which is a very useful move for many cases (Bisharp, Normal Type, Rock,ETC.).
- And when you get the opportunity to set up with Swords Dance, your opponent should be afraid since they see that their end is coming XD.
- Shadow Sneak is a big threat for Psychic and Ghost (especially Gengar which can be a pain for steel sometimes).
- Heatran, Which everyone uses for the fire Immunity.
- Mine is specially defensive with Toxic to check Volcarona. (For Example: HP Ground can't 0HKO this Heatran, Charizard-Y, ETC.)
- With Skarmory, I have Stealth Rock and Whirlwind for them setup sweepers, or just to spam it after hazard stack is set up.
- Brave Bird to counter fighting types and M-Loppuny, since Doublade has some issues with its Typing & Ability.
- Ferrothorn, this set is kind a old, I used it for Greninja because it could take a STAB HP Fire from it.
- So, it is useful against Ground & Water, 2 of Steel's weaknesses.
- My set is based on Leech Seed, it forms a good core with Heatran to stall my opponent.
- And for the last Pokemon, I wanted test it because I didn't get to play it much in Steel teams before: Magnezone.
- Why did I use it?
- → Ballon → Sand Rush Excadrill can get rekt with Arena Trap.
- Even trap other Steel Pokemon like Skarmory, Scizor, ETC.
- I used it for Keldeo too, it can take 1 Secret Sword and 0HKO him with Thunderbolt.
- To be frank, the only good thing I got from this challenge is that I learned how to use Magnezone well.
- Being #5 on the ladder without a Mega means steel is a seriously frightning type and they don't need all the broken megas they got
- (Mega Lucario, Mega Mawile, Mega Metagross, ETC.) nor Aegislash/Genesect.
- People who want them in steel team are just too lazy to build a good team and are looking for an easy win.
- Well, I hope you've enjoyed this RMT guys and see ya for my next one!
