A SaiIru piece

Shuichi dropped down to his knees in shock and sadness, being unable to tear his eyes away from the frightening display in front of him. Miu's deceased body sat in her VR seat, her face pale, her cheeks still wet with tears that streamed from her lifeless eyes, and her hands were still clutched at her neck.

The others stood around and watched on quietly at the sight, a somber aura present in the air. "H-How could this happen..." Shuichi muttered, his fists clenching as tears welled up in his eyes. "Iruma-san..."

He felt a hand rest on his shoulder and looked up to see Kiibo standing next to him, the robot's gaze centered on the late inventor. "I may not be experiencing the emotions that you must be experiencing right now, Saihara-kun, but..." he started, trailing off and looking down. "I'm...also going to miss Iruma-san. She may have not been well-liked by most of the other students and she was also quite brash and aggressive, but she was still a good person. I'm proud to have considered her a friend of mine."

Shuichi gritted his teeth. "I promised her."

Kiibo looked at him questioningly. "Promised her?"

The SHSL Detectice looked down at the ground. "I promised her that I would take her out on as many dates as she wanted when we would get out of this school. She told me...she fell in love with me."

The robot looked surprised by this revelation, but nodded in understanding. "I see...this must be taking quite the toll on you."

"After she told me that she loved me, I spent a while trying to sort my feelings. I mean, Akamatsu-san...I told myself that I would move on for her sake. I had feelings for her, after all."

He then looked up at Miu with a sad smile. "So when Iruma-san told me she loved me, I was really shocked to hear that. But her feelings were true, and she proved that to me with her actions. She really had her eyes set on me. And I...I wanted to feel the same way about her, so that's why I accepted her request."

Shuichi blushed as the SHSL Inventor held his hands, her black panties between them. "I-Iruma-san, what are you doing?!"

"Isn't it obvious?" she grinned, a blush apparent on her face, as well. "I hereby grant you permission to go on dates with me. I...I love you, after all...so I want to spend as much time with you as possible when we get out of this shitty school!"

The black-haired boy looked at the pinkish blonde-haired girl's face in surprise. Truth be told, he always found her really attractive. And even despite her eccentricities, her attitude, and her rudeness toward the others and even himself at times, he still knew that she had good inside her waiting to show itself.

"Iruma-san...I've never seen her so happy," he thought to himself. "She looks...even more stunning than before."

His blush grew as he grasped her hands, nodding at her earnestly. "Alright, Iruma-san. I promise you that we'll go on many dates together when we get out of here."

Once he said that, the most genuine and beautiful smile he's ever seen appeared on Miu's face.

Slamming his fist on the ground in frustration, Shuichi couldn't help but finally let a few tears stream down his face. "Iruma-san...I swear...I'll reveal the truth and expose the one that killed you!"

He then slowly stood up, wiping his tears away as he looked at Miu and the others with determination in his eyes.  "It's my duty as a detective, after all. To make sure the truth is shown and achieving rightful justice!"

Kiibo backed up and looked at the detective, a small smile appearing on the robot's face. He was satisfied that his friend was not even losing a glimmer of hope.

He then frowned as he looked once more at Miu's body. Just what transpired to have this event occur? They would find out soon enough.
