  1. I wasn't in the mood to torture myself, so I played on HMP instead of UV and went through the game. Instead of exploring the hub, I decided to just use the console- mostly because the hub doesn't say the name of each level.

  3. Map02 - Tennisball Assault - Threechainlinks

  5. Loved the decorations with the green goop and machinery, but that kind of dragged on eventually because it was the only real decoration for multiple rooms. It was too samey...

  7. That said, I loved the monsters. It's a chaotic mess with just the right balance of monsters for infighting, and if you're clever, you can kill entire swathes with the supershottie.

  9. Short, sweet, a lot of fun.

  11. Map03 - UAC Outpost Delta - VBob

  13. It's the little touches that make this amazing. The flashing lights, the wavy flag...
  14. That said, fuck you and your chaingunner-on-a-ledge. The guy killed me twice times before I found him, and I eventually just turned around and went the other way around the building.

  16. Anyway, I love the verticality, the details, etc. There's not enough health pickups- I was stuck at 3 health for what felt like ten minutes before I found a soulsphere.

  20. Map04 - Blood Lake Rec. Facility - BioshokFan90

  22. The ambush at the start is very oh-shit inducing. I walked in through the room, saw the chaingunners, backed up for cover- and Demons popped out of the woodwork. So I retreated back to the starting room- and then the friendly hitscan window opened up. I felt like a target in a shooting gallery. Lots of fun. Very oh-shit-inducing.

  24. Found the secret pretty easily, though it was a clever place. The rocket-mayhem room killed me once, but after I figured out the trick, it was fun too. What's with everybody putting archviles in their very final rooms? It's weird.

  26. Map05 - Hell Infested Mine - Simpleton
  27. Lava-throne for the hell knight was cute. Chaingunner in the starting room less-so. Chaingunners in the redkey room much less so. Hell baron after hitting the red switch was terrible.

  29. Cute decorations, cramped uncomfortable design. I ended up just running past everything instead of playing it for fun.

  31. Map06 - Valley of Saturn - Haze Bandicoot

  33. The secret was pretty easy to find with the map. The layout was pretty nice, but it seemed very boxy on the indoor areas. The outdoor areas were amazing, though, especially the key-area.

  35. Pretty neat, but not quite amazing. It lacks the oomph, somehow. Hard to put my finger on.

  37. Map07 - The name of this map was originally 'Fuck Orthagonal Lines' but then I decided I didn't want that sort of commitment so now this is the name of the map - Ijon Tichy

  41. This was about at the point I started remembering that I can jump and crouch. Really useful to run on the heads of spectres.

  43. Anyway, the goop-raising segment of the blueland map was pretty amazing. As are the portal windows. And running around to hit buttons for no known reason- most of the buttons didn't obviously do anything...
  44. Redland was shit. Fuck redland, its masses of chaff blocking the way to the dangerous shit. Even the mancubi were placed in just the wrong place, meaning I couldn't invoke any infighting. Redland a terrible.

  46. I'm never sure if the liquid grounds are damagefloors or not. So I always end up avoiding them even when they don't hurt me.

  48. Anyway, I figure that Yellowland (it's more of a brown actually) was meant to be done before redland and after blueland- the difficulties are arranged such. The demons gave me no problem, seeing as I'd found a berserk in redland.

  50. Found out the trick, looted all three keys in all three worlds, finished it. Very hectic, lots of fuck-you enemies like pain elementals and revenants, but fun despite that.
