The Night in the Southern Port

This story happened in the first night after they reach their first stop, the Southern Port of the Central Island.

A man in the middle of 30s, Viljami is trying to sleep in his hammock. His stomach have been hurting for a while but this isn't the first time he feel something like this so he's used to it. With his stomach in pain, it's hard for him to sleep and even the low grumbles of his sleeping crew mates that never bothered him before is slowly making him angry.

Viljami is still trying to sleep when suddenly his hammock was turned upside down making him fell flat to the floor.

"Ouch! Who the hell?"

He shouted angrily and looked up to see a buff man in his early 30s smiling bright while shaking a wine bottle.

"What do you want, Sarge?" Viljami asked while confused, he never really talked to Sarge before and they're not even in the same work shift so he didn't know anything about Sarge other than that he's used to serve in the military.

"I heard yer not eating enough, Sir Luciel was worried back then ya know."

Sarge squatted to see Viljami eye to eye. Viljami can smell strong alcohol from his mouth, instantly knowing that he had been drinking.

"I have to save money you know. I can't waste my money if I can save even a little bit."

"Nonsense! What's with that poor lonely person's view point? If yer hungry just say so, we're all crew mates here and we should help each other."

Serge's reply bothered Viljami.

"It's my problem, I don't have to burden other people with it."

"BAH! Shut it mate, we're crew in the same ships so we're like brothers now. You know what? I'll help you with your daughter's money if you will drink with me tonight! Whaddya say?"

"What? No I don't..."

"Hm? You want to refuse? I'm giving money to have you accompany me ya know, it's not free money!"

"But..."

"Just take it, Viljami." Diederik who have been awake all along suddenly decided to speak.

"Diederik?"

"Now that I think about it, I'm pretty thirsty myself. Whaddya say, Serge? Any problem with additional guy joining your party?"

"Aye, that's the spirit soldier! I was with Greg and Sir Kamal a while ago, let's catch up with them and drink to our fill tonight! My treat!"

Sarge said this while gripping Viljami's left shoulder and put his arm around his shoulders.

"That's a good idea but I have to warn you that I'm a heavy drinker."

Diederik do the same to Viljami's other shoulder and arm.

"It's decided then!" Sarge laughed happily.

"Wait, I haven't sa-"

Before Viljami could say anything else in protest, his body have been lifted up by Serge and Diederik and was taken far away from the ship to the town.
