  1. Guide to Comodo
  2.
  3. Comodo is a VPN program (similar to Hamachi) which simulates a LAN connection over two computers which are not necessarily anywhere near each other. What this means for you is that it will allow you to play multiplayer games such as Hisoutensoku, without having to worry about port-forwarding. Even if you think you have everything set up correctly, you should still get on Comodo as it can be a backup plan for when unexpected problems occur.
  4.
  5. --How to set up Comodo--
  6.
  7. 1. Install Comodo. Get the installer here: http://www.comodo.com/home/email-security/vpn-access.php
  8.
  9. To check which version you need (32 or 64 bit), open up the start menu, right click Computer, and press properties, which should display a window like this: http://puu.sh/33kwX.png
  10.
  11. 2. Run the installer. If possible, run it from an administrator account and install to the default location. This will minimize potential for errors during installation. At some point during/after the install, a box will appear asking for a product key. Since you got the free version, you won't have one, so just press close without entering anything in the box.
  12.
  13. 3. Create an account. http://puu.sh/33kIC.png
  14. Click the register a new account button and enter in the required info. The email must be valid since you'll need that to log in later. After you log in, you should also give yourself a username. Click the tools menu at the top, press options, put the username you want into the alias box, and check the box that says "Only show my alias to others". Reference: http://puu.sh/33kQr.png
  15.
  16. To join a network, click Networks -> Join a network. You will be asked to provide a name and password, which in our case are:
  17.
  18. Name: Scarlet Devil Mansion
  19. Password: yukkuri
  20.
  21. There is a box labeled "Enable VPN": Make sure this is checked, or Comodo will not work properly.

  27.
  28. 1. Viewing your networks
  29.
  30. Simply click the network tab and a list of all the networks will appear. Click a network name to show a list of users, or double click it to bring up the separate chat window.
  31.
  32. 2. Connecting to someone
  33.
  34. All users have an IP listed beside their name. Use this IP to connect to them through Comodo. Make sure to connect on the same port they are hosting on.
  35.
  36. 3. Having someone connect to you
  37.
  38. Host a game of Hisoutensoku as normal, and they will be able to see your IP and connect to you the same way you can see theirs. Make sure to tell them which port you are hosting on.
  39.
  40.
  41. --Troubleshooting (Extra, read if you are having problems)--
  42.
  43. If you are unable to sign in to Comodo after creating an account, there are a few things you should try:
  44.
  45. 1. Restart your computer. Try this first since it's relatively easy and is likely to solve the problem.
  46.
  47. 2. Check your firewall settings and make sure Comodo is on the list of allowed programs.
  48.
  49. If you are experiencing large amounts of lag or are entirely unable to connect to someone else, it may be because your connection to them is listed as relayed. The three most common reasons (and solutions) are listed below:
  50.
  51. 1. A bug will occasionally result in you being marked as relay to almost everyone (such as in http://puu.sh/33kUT.png). To resolve this, just log in and out of Comodo, and have the other person do the same. This is the simplest solution and should always be tried first.
  52.
  53. 2. Comodo is not always able to get through every type of firewall. If a firewall is blocking Comodo, you will appear relayed to everyone and it will not be fixed by logging in and out. Try letting Comodo through your firewall by adding it to the firewall's list of exceptions.
