Anyways, he hasn't been that well all day, and pushed himself despite his condition to keep a promise to someone else.

I've known him for several years, and I've asked him to keep a log to write down his thoughts at the end of each day a few years back. I was reading it just now so I could figure out what happened to him since he won't talk about it, and a lot of names in here are repeated in there.
A lot of the sentences are regretful, however, as if he's constantly angry at himself for making mistakes constantly with you guys.
One or two entries is one thing, but every single day is just more and more regrets listed out.

Knowing him, he'll likely either deny it or argue against it.
He hates others seeing him be emotional.
And I hate reading anywhere from two to seven regrets per day, and it's going back at least three weeks.

Help cheer him up. He obviously cares about this place, otherwise he wouldn't be here. He's staying in a place where he regrets so much each day.
Like, here's something.
'I can't help but feel like I've failed everyone, including myself. I tried all I could to make things right, but it seems I still can't find the right methods to make my results happen. I should've worked harder to communicate with Harvester. I should've been more considerate of member's feelings. Instead, I got wrapped up in things spiraling beyond my control, and took the wrong approach to solving it. At this point, I don't even know if I can salvage it. I don't know whether to delete the server, agree to their terms, or just leave. It's clear that I'm disliked by a lot of users, and I don't know if I'll ever be able to fix that. It was enjoyable to interact with this community, but it seems I need to move on to a new place.'

If this is the case, then in my opinion he needs to take a break. Doing something he claims to regret each day is probably taking a toll on him. It's unhealthy activity regardless of what it's for and what's behind it.

At the very least, from reading what was said above, it looks like he's done something or a few things very wrong and people here have issues with him in one way or another. I'd like to at least clear that for him if I can.

I met him somewhere between 6 and 7 years ago in college.

This guy was harassing me a bit, one of the ones who don't give up when they're told no. He came over and basically told the guy that I said no, and the guy turned to say somethings before looking into his eyes and stopping mid sentence to run off.
I had to pester him for several weeks just to get his name though. Turned out we had a few core classes together, which made it easier for me.
It was just a community college, nothing special. I'm not sure if he'd want me to say where though.
He's always stressing the importance of protecting personal information online.

More of a general question (not looking for company names or locations or anything), but what do you do for a living now?

Well, I originally wanted to be a teacher when I went into college, but after enough time with him, he convinced me that teaching can only help so many people, and that programming would help more people. I ended up getting a degree in both, but I mostly work as a teacher. I sometimes get a call from him about a larger project he would like help on for one of his contracts, and even though I do it to help him, he insists that I take some of the pay since I did the work.

Well... From what I know, that's just who he is. He can't stand being idle.
I know he volunteers time to tutor students in math at a local library, ranging from middle school to first year of college.
I've visited a few times, he usually has his laptop there and is working on some computer stuff when he isn't helping students.

Yeah... That's a line he doesn't know.
I remember a few years back he ended up getting hypothermia delivering a present to a child's house on Christmas Eve. I don't know the full details of it, but I remember taking soup to him a few days later and on the wall was a picture of the kid smiling.
His intentions are almost always good, but he just doesn't always find the most logical way to reach his goal.
