I’m leaving. With the direction that SDMC, or however long it will be called SDMC, is taking, I cannot in good conscious continue to take part in it. I fully understand the logic behind merging the two servers, and I fully understand the need to do so given the low numbers that both servers are currently experiencing – and that Adam pulled out from SDMC a while ago.


That said, SDMC was always unique in that while it was hosted by Minecade, it was kept separate. The rules were different, the ranks different, the games different. The entire feel of the server was different. SDMC felt warm and friendly. Minecade, whenever I logged on, felt cold and rather hostile – which is why I avoided logging on with the exception of helping ypperin test out some of the minigames. On top of that, SDMC had a staff team that I always felt at ease with. Erin was always there for me to talk to, and she never beat around the bush. In contrast, when boophis was appointed Head Admin for a week she never once gave me a straight answer. She instead attempted to avoid the topic, or would call upon someone else to respond to me – entirely opposite of how my supposed Head Admin was supposed to behave. That left me with a sick taste in my mouth when Minecade’s staff team was brought up. That taste never entered in regards to Pablo or Felipe, who I feel are excellent Owners. Nor did it ever enter in regards to Adam, who while he took part in SDMC was always in the background, ensuring things got done. It came from that poor experience with one of Minecade’s highest ranked staff members – and one whom I would need to deal with on a constant basis now.


Minecade and SDMC are to merge. I admit, it is almost as if a family is reuniting, given the relationship that the two servers have. That being said, with Erin gone and boophis returning, and with how the staff at Minecade operates, I cannot work in those conditions. I refuse to work in them. I appreciate communication at all levels, recognition for a job well done, and a level of trust between the Admin and the rest of the staff. Glenn, I do not know and thus am leaving out. Boophis, on the other hand, I tried working with. She never cared for any of those aforementioned aspects. And as such, I know I will not be able to work alongside her.


With the two servers merging, I can tell that both Glenn and boophis will share power. I would assume that the MGM’s will act as Admins, and the GM team will remain the same. 41 GM’s from Minecade, plus the 12 from SDMC, creates 53 GM’s. That is more than enough to cover what the amalgamation will become. My presence will not be needed, and thus I know I can entrust the server, and its future, into their hands.


You are all my family. Each and every one of you became more than just a GM to me. You became my friends, and then my family. I love each and every one of you, I truly do. It has been my greatest honour and privilege to serve with you. I thank you all for it, from the bottom of my heart And I know you will all do an amazing job as you carry on being GM’s – and wherever else your path may take you.
