Thanks for the complete answer to my openrc migration woes!  I'm putting together a pull request, as I write this.

Regrading the question someone asked about DO drops, setting up ssh keys for virgin instances, there is a way to set this up using "User Data" - which is visible during 'Create Droplet' (https://assets.digitalocean.com/site/ControlPanel/Enable_User_Data.png).

A long time ago, I used this for things such as authorized_keys file and host-based authentication through a similar "api" in AWS.
