- Alright. I promised I'd write this thing and I don't break promises.
- I really feel some sort of weight pressed against me and everyone looking to me for all the answers, but I can only give you what I believe and I do not want to become someone in the game who is treated like I do have all the answers - I don't. This much would be evident in the fact I thought Sincerely was scum, and then stove wasn't scum either. These two revelations made me reconsider things slightly but not to the point where all my reads were scrapped.
- Starting off, day one was a crapshoot. I had to get the mental ability to shovel through all the crap and discern what was warranted even looking at and what just wasn't garble. Hopefully this pastebin accomplishes the idea I've been trying to stress since the beginning of this game, which is clean and concise. I haven't looked into the voting log or discerned about how the stove lynch happened but I might do that later if I really need to, right now I just want to get this all out.
- Soda17/Transcend: My read on soda really boils down to that I believe he wouldn't play so haphazardly as he would right now both for meta reasons and that me thinking from a logical standpoint that scum wouldn't make such an effort that he did in early game. Reading soda from a contextual standpoint boggles my brain so I'll just say another reason I townread him is the scuffle between him and itg earlier, and I guess you could call the backbone of my townread. When soda and itg go into it both are unwavering and this a behavior I don't think fits soda from a scum perspective, although such is certainly arguable and probably will be argued. The fact of the matter is that soda gains absolutely nothing to be boisterous in the way he was and to antagonize itg, and that I believe that not only soda but any scum member would rather defuse a situation like that where you have a townie on your heels instead of being bullheaded. I think the most interesting about soda is that he's kinda like a proverbial coin right now which is him and another player I've been meaning to talk about which is perish. tl;dr Soda is genuine in his efforts and I believe that his attitude rings more true to a bullheaded townie stuck in his ways instead of a scum trying to pretend to be the bullheaded townie.
- Moving on to the other side of the coin..
- Perish: If soda is the genuine in his efforts side, then Perish is the complete opposite. While both are somewhat similar in their style being boisterous, Perish's efforts are done merely to appeal and to make excuses, which is not the same as being a hardhead. If you notice the transparent difference between the two (and this is important)!! is that soda is not aggravated to be an asshat while Perish is, and merely lashes out only when instigated. It's pure crap and this type of AtE is the worst kind because apparently mashing on your keyboard and feigning anger is very townie. I'm not sure why(?) people consider this to be genuine especially to the kicker being that Perish only acts this way when instigated. I say this as someone who's been scum and AtEd his ass off and gotten away with it, and it's really easier if you don't have to approach anything logically and you just pretend to be hot and bothered all the time. I don't want people getting away with this though because I will attribute a certain JeffReid's play as mafia to almost the same style Perish is going. Did I mention that Perish always has a timely excuse for everything, when it comes to reads or lack of push? What has Perish really done? Can you answer? Get mad about something and say they hate mafia? I'm honestly drawing blanks and I will again allude to the other coin that soda is at least putting his foot out there and going for what he believes in meanwhile Perish sits there and says 'lol i have no reads' or 'lol i kinda wanna vote this person BUT...' It's just gotten old at this point and if you're reading this post you will probably see that I'm voting Perish also.
- Tucker: My read on Tucker is probably the least developed and boils down to the fact he's made good pushes and that he isn't giving me a headache. I think his push on Claire was probably the most agreeable and I think that he's been purely no bullshit which I like and expect from townies.
- Sonrio: This read is a bit tricky for me because I feel I'm pretty damn accurate about reading Sonrio in general. Basically, I think Sonrio lacks gumption and I think that being 'bored blue' isn't an excuse to essentially do nothing. Last game when sonrio was town he at least took some effort but instead he's faded into the background and this highly worries me. From a perspective that isn't sonrio I also believe that scum wants to have the least paper trails lead to them and they don't want to commit to something if they don't have to, which is exactly what Sonrio is doing. He's probably my 2nd highest scumread right now aside from Perish.
- Gerry: Again lol I don't have the most fleshed out read on Gerry and it is a lot more meta reliant but I don't think that Gerry is a player who is uh..complex. He's been very straightforward in his approach which rings pretty much the same as how he was as town. If I had someone I could be wrong on it would probably be Gerry but in my mind it's just been 'yeah he's pretty much playing the same as last game' and I know there's an aspect of 'but what if Gerry is doing that as mafia!!!' here but again..don't really think Gerry is a complex player or really someone who tries to do that.
- ClaireRedfield: I don't have a single clue why you all have been townreading claire for genuine reasons or whatever but I'm not really seeing it and I'm definitely a skeptic. In what way is someone appealing at the moment they're gonna die and saying they're just a blue townie? Or even making up a bunch of 'woe is me' posts also? I will again repeat myself and say that I really, really do not see how this is genuine or townie, and if anything, it's scummy because it's a last ditch attempt because Claire doesn't have anything to followup on because her focus is not on scumhunting for the obvious reason that maybe, she herself is scum.
- itg321: I came into this game townreading both Soda and Itg but my read on Itg wanes a lot the less I see him post and be a presence. He says he has a gut on me but gut doesn't mean shit especially when there are no words put to it. He's also guilty of doing the same exact thing that I accuse Perish of which is making posts that don't really need to be made and eventually go nowhere. I don't think he's the same Perish though and I'm not feeling a partner vibe from them either so I have itg mostly sitting in a null until he shows the same characteristics he was showing when he was fighting with Soda.
- SirSlick: This is again a slot I am decidedly null on for various reasons, but someone I want to watch more. I remember someone calling this person a townread and I don't think there's any basis for someone to be townread who has basically spent all their time stating the obvious and making posts about mechanics. Dunno Slick enough nor his townplay so if someone wants to attribute this type of play as townie for some reason then sell it to me otherwise I remain cautious.
- I think that's it and Sincerely is clear? That wasn't that painless. I will say that my list of Claire/Perish/Sonrio isn't based on partner tells rather individual ones, but I'm still thinking there's scum in there. I'd say that I'd put itg/sirslick on the backburner despite being null and everyone else I'm pretty cool with until my mind changes.
