- **HOW TO USE TWEETDECK:**
- 1. Go to http://tweetdeck.twitter.com/
- 2. Sign in with your normal user/pass
- 3. Enter the Matrix
- Tweetdeck uses "columns" with continuously updating feeds.
- These columns can be used to track virtually anything in the twitterverse, from the tweets of a specific user to the search results for a hashtag.
- To add a column, click the "+" sign on the toolbar, choose a type, configure, then click the "Add Column" on the lower right.
- Removing a column is easier, just click on the icon at the top right of a column then click "Remove" from the drop-down options.
- For example, to add a column for tweets marked "#gamergate":
- 1. Click the "+"
- 2. Click "Search"
- 3. Search for #gamergate
- 4. Click "Add Column" at the bottom.
- (optional steps - no RTs):
- 1. Click on the icon at the top right of the #gamergate column
- 2. Click on "Content"
- 3. "Retweets" drop down menu select "Exclude"
- Personally, I suggest adding -
- Yourself, Notifications, #GamerGate results, Direct Messages (if you use it), and various lists (elaborated below).
- Consider removing -
- Activity, Home
- REMINDER THAT YOU CAN VIEW/SORT YOUR COLUMNS ON THE LEFT TOOLBAR
- THIS WILL FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE AT FIRST BUT ONCE YOU GET USED TO IT YOUR TWITTER PRODUCTIVITY WILL SKYROCKET.
- **HOW TO USE LISTS:**
- 1. Add column
- 2. Lists
- 3. Create lists
- 4. Name it (read "Note" below)
- 5. Add people to it
- 6. DONE (optional - Disable RTs)
- Now you have a constantly updating feed of tweets from your favorite users.
- Example lists -
- one for proGG journalists (Oliver Campbell, revuelabs, etc.), one for prominent GG people, and one for users you personally like.
- I HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that you set up filters (Ex. only showing tweets with #gamergate) so that you're more likely to see the important tweets.
- Note:
- There are two types of lists - Private and Public
- Private only visible/usable by you but public lists everyone can see/subscribe to.
- You can find lists that other people have made by clicking on their username and clicking "Lists" at the bottom of the pop-up.
