  1. **HOW TO USE TWEETDECK:**
  2. 1. Go to http://tweetdeck.twitter.com/
  3. 2. Sign in with your normal user/pass
  4. 3. Enter the Matrix
  5.
  6. Tweetdeck uses "columns" with continuously updating feeds.
  7.
  8. These columns can be used to track virtually anything in the twitterverse, from the tweets of a specific user to the search results for a hashtag.
  9.
  10. To add a column, click the "+" sign on the toolbar, choose a type, configure, then click the "Add Column" on the lower right.
  11.
  12. Removing a column is easier, just click on the icon at the top right of a column then click "Remove" from the drop-down options.
  13.
  14. For example, to add a column for tweets marked "#gamergate":
  15. 1. Click the "+"
  16. 2. Click "Search"
  17. 3. Search for #gamergate
  18. 4. Click "Add Column" at the bottom.
  19.
  20. (optional steps - no RTs):
  21. 1. Click on the icon at the top right of the #gamergate column
  22. 2. Click on "Content"
  23. 3. "Retweets" drop down menu select "Exclude"
  24.
  25.
  26. Personally, I suggest adding -
  27. Yourself, Notifications, #GamerGate results, Direct Messages (if you use it), and various lists (elaborated below).
  28.
  29. Consider removing -
  30. Activity, Home
  31.
  32. REMINDER THAT YOU CAN VIEW/SORT YOUR COLUMNS ON THE LEFT TOOLBAR
  33.
  34. THIS WILL FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE AT FIRST BUT ONCE YOU GET USED TO IT YOUR TWITTER PRODUCTIVITY WILL SKYROCKET.
  35.
  36. **HOW TO USE LISTS:**
  37. 1. Add column
  38. 2. Lists
  39. 3. Create lists
  40. 4. Name it (read "Note" below)
  41. 5. Add people to it
  42. 6. DONE (optional - Disable RTs)
  43.
  44. Now you have a constantly updating feed of tweets from your favorite users.
  45.
  46. Example lists -
  47. one for proGG journalists (Oliver Campbell, revuelabs, etc.), one for prominent GG people, and one for users you personally like.
  48.
  49. I HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that you set up filters (Ex. only showing tweets with #gamergate) so that you're more likely to see the important tweets.
  50.
  51. Note:
  52. There are two types of lists - Private and Public
  53. Private only visible/usable by you but public lists everyone can see/subscribe to.
  54. You can find lists that other people have made by clicking on their username and clicking "Lists" at the bottom of the pop-up.
