- [22:56] <cathy> if the characters can attack and go fast it'd be perfect

- 01[22:56] <Scizor300> like rayman legends or dustforce
- 01[22:57] <Scizor300> but with a higher focus on balancing combat with the platforming
- [22:57] <cathy> enemies should be killed fast
- 01[22:57] <Scizor300> yeah, we're aiming for that
- [22:57] <cathy> i'm fine with ineffective enemies as long as they're fun to kill
- [22:57] <cathy> pso2's enemies feel good to kill
- [22:57] <cathy> the problem is the variation
- 01[22:57] <Scizor300> enemies for the most part will be cannon fodder that you can kill easily
- 01[22:58] <Scizor300> bosses and the bigger guys might take more than a hit or two though
- [22:58] <cathy> of course bosses
- 01[22:58] <Scizor300> we haven't really touched enemy design aside from a stupid skeleton sketch i did a while back
- 01[22:59] <Scizor300> i'm still waiting on charyb to get the backend set up before we do any major planning

- 01[23:01] <Scizor300> basically, when you first start the game, you have a view of a single cottage, aka kathy's house
- 01[23:01] <Scizor300> as you progress in the game, the town grows larger and you can upgrade it in several ways

- 01[23:01] <Scizor300> and it functions as a sort of in-game hub world and menu
- [23:01] <cathy> i think it should be like sonic rush adventure
- 01[23:01] <Scizor300> i haven't played it
- [23:01] <cathy> it just grows as you progress the plot
- 01[23:01] <Scizor300> yeah
- [23:01] <cathy> more people to talk to and stuff
- [23:01] <cathy> well idk what the plot is
- 01[23:02] <Scizor300> well
- [23:02] <cathy> if you're collecting the seven chaos emeralds for instance each one can power up the landscape or something
- 01[23:02] <Scizor300> plot will probably be some shitty barebones thing that's slapped in to give an excuse for the game
- [23:03] <cathy> i dunno how to tie an upgrading house to a plot though
- [23:03] <cathy> it's not like an island you colonize
- [23:03] <cathy> i don't see any need for it really
- [23:03] <cathy> i usually don't like hub worlds because they make going from place to place annoying

- [23:03] <cathy> disgaea's is just a room with people who function as menus
- 01[23:03] <Scizor300> i think there's going to actually be an overworld map or something
- 01[23:04] <Scizor300> charyb and i discussed it and i don't remember much from it
- 01[23:04] <Scizor300> but i know that the loading screen is going to look like the smw overworld map with the characters navigating to their target point

- 01[23:06] <Scizor300> he'd get super pissed at me because, along with him still being mad at you, he doesn't think you'd take it seriously until we have something like a playable tech demo
