  2. > Honestly the SGaP community probably would have just been done in another year or so if not for his post
  3.
  4. Y'know, that's kinda sad.
  5.
  6. I mean, we have all these great people here. Not gonna name names, but there's people like Kreuhn and And The Rainfall β€” established pone artists β€”, there's so many of us amateurs making pretty solid pieces, there's people discussing pretty much everything under the sun and beyond in the Skype chat groups.
  7.
  8. To put it simply, we're a community that came together because of one man and his music. But that's not all, isn't it? There's this fascinating idea, this concept of SGaP. It's not just phenomena in the philosophical sense. We can hear his music and read his writings, but there's the feelings and emotions they've brought us. This collection of noumena, das Ding an sich that is SGaP is the crux of the matter, our raison d'Γͺtre.
  9.
  10. (The impermanence of it all, the fleeting and transient nature of a sum of experiences that can never be replicated again β€” that's what appeals to me the most. Something that cannot be looked at directly, something that ephemeral that dissolves when I try to grasp it gently.)
  11.
  12. And yet we've gone beyond this solitude, this singular mega-concept that we can see in its entirety (since it will never be built or elaborated on again.) We're making the new Sori album and we're creating new works that don't involve SGaP - no covers, no remixes, no sampling even. As a community we're moving forward, even as we remember what brought us together in the first place.
  13.
  14. SGaP and his ideas will always be an influence on me, and I have taken them and used them to better myself. They are beautiful (if sometimes really, really inaccurate), and what's the point of leaving anything beautiful beneath a gravestone and flowers? Stone will be worn to dust. The flowers will rot and return to the elements. Nothing will mark its grave. Once we give something the finality that is death, it will eventually be forgotten.
  15.
  16. "If there's any kind of magic in this world it must be in the attempt of understanding someone sharing something."
  17.
  18. Words fail us when we try to share what's in our minds. The greatest poet on Earth may very well be one of the saddest men on Earth, because people keep coming up with interpretations; eventually, all that he wants to express is lost in a storm of ink and paper.
  19.
  20. David tried to share something with us, and though I'm sure I've gotten a lot of things wrong, but I feel that I can at least see a glimmer of those beautiful things behind the veil, the shadows on the wall of the cave. Is it enough? Never.
  21.
  22. (Curiously enough, this reminds me of a certain visual novel I played, a certain armless girl, and certain experiences I went through recently in my own life.)
  23.
  24. We've been given a night in Vienna with SGaP, ladies and gentlemen. That's all we can hope for.
  25.
  26. It's beautiful, isn't it?
