  1. Hello, mods of /r/subreddit.
  2.
  3. If you haven't already seen, a [new version of AutoModerator was released a few weeks ago](https://www.reddit.com/r/modnews/comments/30ychn/moderators_automoderator_is_now_built_into_reddit), with it now integrated into reddit itself instead of operating as an external bot. Your subreddit has now been converted over to use the new version. It should still operate much the same as it was before, however there are a few things that you do need to know about the switch:
  4.
  5. The primary change to be aware of is that **your subreddit's AutoModerator configuration page is now located at https://www.reddit.com/r/listentoemail/wiki/config/automoderator** (the old page has also been edited to direct you there). If you edit this new page to update AutoMod's configuration, it is **no longer necessary to send the "update" message afterwards**. Your config will be checked for errors at the time you save the page (and you will be unable to save it if any are present), and the new configuration will be active immediately once the page is successfully saved. Note that this page is only viewable by mods with "wiki" permission, and ones with both "wiki" and "config" can edit it. There have also been some (mostly fairly minor) changes made to the syntax of this page. Most of them should be fairly straightforward to understand from looking at the converted configuration, but for more detail about the specific changes, please see the links at the bottom of this message.
  6.
  7. In addition, there are a few other behavior improvements/changes that you should be aware of:
  8.
  9. * Responses should now be practically instant, expect submissions and comments to be checked and/or acted on immediately when they are posted.
  10. * AutoMod will no longer leave an entry in the moderation log when it sets flair or distinguishes a comment. This should hopefully help reduce clutter in the log.
  11. * Items are now checked again when they are edited, so you may see AutoMod acting unexpectedly on some older items that get edited and satisfy one or more of your rules' conditions. If you want to prevent a specific rule from re-checking edited items (so it will only be checked at the time something is posted), you can add the following line to that rule: `is_edited: false`
  12. * Items are now checked again immediately when they are reported (previously reports were only checked every 5 minutes), and reported items of any age will be checked (previously only reported items that were posted in the last 24 hours were checked).
  13.
  14. That should cover the most noticeable changes. For more detail, please see [the wiki page related to conversion to the new version](https://www.reddit.com/wiki/automoderator/converting-to-new) and [the full documentation](https://www.reddit.com/wiki/automoderator/full-documentation). If you have any questions or concerns about the new version at all or need any help with AutoModerator in general, please feel free to reply to this message, PM me directly, or post to /r/AutoModerator. Especially if you notice it doing anything that seems to be incorrect due to the conversion, please contact me immediately.
  15.
  16. As always, thanks for all your hard work as moderators. I hope AutoModerator's been able to help lighten your load.
