  1. [17:49] * Faerzen_Norstov turns to the open book after setting the crown down and decaptchalogues his fountain pain (Co - COBALT)
  2. [17:49] * Faerzen_Norstov begins writing in the book on a new page
  3. [17:49] <Faerzen_Norstov> "AFTERMATH"
  4. [17:49] <Faerzen_Norstov> Hello, Regent.
  5. [17:50] <Regent[Book]> Yes, that is what I am called
  6. [17:50] <Regent[Book]> Hello to you too Faerzen
  7. [17:52] <Faerzen_Norstov> I suppose, I want to start off by apologizing. I have been doing a lot of that quite recently, and I think it is warranted. I want to apologize both for the trial and what I did leading up to your memory loss.
  8. [17:53] <Faerzen_Norstov> I have yet to actually tell you all of the details of what happened, and I do not think I have any right to hold on to them.
  9. [17:53] <Regent[Book]> I don't believe you rightfully can claim blame for the trial, and I think you've already apologized to me for my memory loss
  10. [17:54] <Faerzen_Norstov> As for the trial, I know that you have come across as a very distant and neutral being, but I find it hard to believe that that trial was at all pleasant.
  11. [17:54] <Regent[Book]> It was what it was
  12. [17:54] <Faerzen_Norstov> Yes, the fact that the trial occurred in the first place is not something I can claim responsibility for, but as for the way I went about proving my case, I can.
  13. [17:54] <Regent[Book]> I believe it ended with the best outcome
  14. [17:55] <Regent[Book]> So you've no need to apologize to me
  15. [17:55] <Regent[Book]> But rather to Lyra
  16. [17:55] <Faerzen_Norstov> I was very aggressive in ripping Lyra to shreds and aggravating her. Yes, I was effective in creating a favorable outcome, but I am sorry that you had to see all of that, particularly the drama afterwards.
  17. [17:55] <Faerzen_Norstov> I know you don't know who you are and that you seem distant, but that doesn't mean you don't have feelings.
  18. [17:55] <Regent[Book]> ...
  19. [17:56] <Faerzen_Norstov> Simply because I need to apologize to others more than I do you does not preclude an apology anyways.
  20. [17:56] <Regent[Book]> I appreciate your concern
  21. [17:56] * Faerzen_Norstov flips back through previous pages, frowning at the massive ink smears
  22. [17:57] <Faerzen_Norstov> All of this....
  23. [17:57] <Faerzen_Norstov> I apologized for it, yes, but I did not tell you exactly how it happened out of shame.
  24. [17:57] <Regent[Book]> I'm not sure I want to know
  25. [17:58] <Faerzen_Norstov> I think it could be good for you to know so that I do not do it to you again.
  26. [17:58] <Regent[Book]> ...
  27. [17:58] <Faerzen_Norstov> I seem to be quite skilled at hurting people, even, and maybe even especially, when I don't intend to
  28. [17:58] <Faerzen_Norstov> It is up to you, but I want you to know that I would like to share it if you would like to hear it.
  29. [17:59] <Regent[Book]> I don't want to know at this time
  30. [17:59] <Faerzen_Norstov> Very well.
  31. [17:59] <Faerzen_Norstov> Please do let me know if at some later point you would.
  32. [17:59] <Regent[Book]> So how has Abyss been faring?
  33. [18:00] <Faerzen_Norstov> I do not think it is something I should withhold from you.
  34. [18:00] <Faerzen_Norstov> Abyss?
  35. [18:00] <Faerzen_Norstov> Abyss was doing quite awfully since the end of the trial, but I talked with him and he seems to be doing much better since then.
  36. [18:00] <Faerzen_Norstov> He decided he wanted to work on a project as a surprise for me.
  37. [18:01] <Regent[Book]> Ah, so that is what is going on over there
  38. [18:01] <Faerzen_Norstov> I have been avoiding looking in that area of the room, lest I spoil the surprise.
  39. [18:01] <Faerzen_Norstov> All he told me is that he wanted a container of earth.
  40. [18:01] <Faerzen_Norstov> So I provided one.
  41. [18:02] <Regent[Book]> I see
  42. [18:02] <Regent[Book]> Do try to take good care of him
  43. [18:02] <Faerzen_Norstov> What do you think of the settlement I proposed for the trial?
  44. [18:02] <Regent[Book]> I agree wholeheartedly
  45. [18:04] <Faerzen_Norstov> Reggie the crown seems to no longer want to have any part in being there to protect me should anything go awry, but I still intend to follow through on the agreement regardless.
  46. [18:04] <Regent[Book]> I see
  47. [18:06] <Faerzen_Norstov> As much as I dislike the idea of leaving myself exposed to an entity that was likely complicit in my own rape and murder in an alternate timeline, I have little choice at this point. I sincerely hope things are as Abyss says they are, because I would very much appreciate being on good terms with Abyss.
  48. [18:07] <Faerzen_Norstov> What is your opinion on Abyss's account?
  49. [18:07] <Faerzen_Norstov> Before you lost your memory, you claimed to have omniscience, and it still seems as though you have retained at least some of that great knowledge.
  50. [18:07] <Regent[Book]> I believe he was likely to be telling the truth
  51. [18:08] <Regent[Book]> Or he could've continued to fight and argue that Lyra wasn't insane during the creation of their contract
  52. [18:08] <Regent[Book]> He could've done many things to keep that trial afloat
  53. [18:08] <Faerzen_Norstov> Yes, there was quite a legal battle there that I was preparing myself for.
  54. [18:09] <Faerzen_Norstov> It was still a battle, but it ended much more abruptly then I was expecting.
  55. [18:09] <Regent[Book]> It would be less logical for him to fake a sudden revelation than a gradual understanding
  56. [18:10] <Faerzen_Norstov> Yes, I had thought of that.
  57. [18:11] <Faerzen_Norstov> In the end, it is nigh impossible to ever know for absolute certain, and some degree of trust must be extended.
  58. [18:11] <Faerzen_Norstov> The question I will have to answer is just what degree of trust that is in exchange for what degree of certainty.
  59. [18:11] <Faerzen_Norstov> I talked with Reggie about this for quite some time and he had a great deal of advice on the matter.
  60. [18:12] <Faerzen_Norstov> I am not as inclined to put so much blind faith into hoping someone is trustworthy as he is, but many of his points still remain quite valid.
  61. [18:12] <Regent[Book]> Which ended in him withdrawing his protection
  62. [18:12] <Faerzen_Norstov> Correct.
  63. [18:13] <Faerzen_Norstov> It is of no matter now, for at this point there is no changing his mind. Even if there was a possibility of doing that, I would not wish to go down the road of arguing with him anyways.
  64. [18:15] <Faerzen_Norstov> By the way, I do have a question that I think is quite pertinent to ask given the situation.
  65. [18:15] <Faerzen_Norstov> When you exiled alternate Nick from the court premises, where did you exile him to?
  66. [18:18] <Regent[Book]> Somewhere else
  67. [18:18] <Regent[Book]> Some place else
  68. [18:18] <Regent[Book]> I'm not certain exactly
  69. [18:19] <Faerzen_Norstov> Do you know if he will easily be able to return from wherever that is?
  70. [18:20] <Regent[Book]> I don't believe it will be
  71. [18:21] <Faerzen_Norstov> That is good to hear, even if you are not certain.
  72. [18:21] <Faerzen_Norstov> However
  73. [18:22] <Faerzen_Norstov> You did mention at the trial that the both he and the Abyss in his mask seemed to be the same entity.
  74. [18:22] <Faerzen_Norstov> Does that imply what I think it implies?
  75. [18:22] <Regent[Book]> Yes for the sakes of transportation
  76. [18:22] <Faerzen_Norstov> So if he had simply been wearing his mask, they would have been separate entities?
  77. [18:23] <Faerzen_Norstov> But something had changed from when you originally transported them away?
  78. [18:23] <Regent[Book]> Perhaps
  79. [18:23] <Regent[Book]> Perhaps not
  80. [18:24] <Regent[Book]> I'm afraid I don't really know other than what the powers of the court granted me
  81. [18:24] <Faerzen_Norstov> Which of my previous two inquiries was that "perhaps" in response to?
  82. [18:24] <Regent[Book]> Both of them
  83. [18:25] <Faerzen_Norstov> He was wearing his mask in the courtroom initially, and you were able to banish him with no issues, correct?
  84. [18:25] <Faerzen_Norstov> But you were unable to retrieve him because they were a single entity.
  85. [18:26] <Regent[Book]> You wanted to retrieve one of them individually
  86. [18:26] <Regent[Book]> I could not
  87. [18:26] <Faerzen_Norstov> Were you able to bring them both back had you so desired?
  88. [18:26] <Regent[Book]> Not easily
  89. [18:26] <Regent[Book]> Once banished it takes a while to bring them back
  90. [18:27] <Faerzen_Norstov> That makes much more sense. Thank you for clarifying.
  91. [18:27] <Faerzen_Norstov> I wished to make sure I did not misinterpret the "single entity"
  92. [18:29] <Faerzen_Norstov> I hope I am not prying too much into unpleasant or personal matters when I ask this. Some information I recently received has led me to wish to ask, however.
  93. [18:29] <Regent[Book]> Shoot
  94. [18:33] <Faerzen_Norstov> Before you lost your memory, you attempted to present a rather distant and aloof front, and you claimed to have omniscience and could serve as a magical guide to whomever had the book. You truly did know a great deal! I know not if you actually had omniscience or if you had some other vast source of knowledge or memory, but what do you feel is the
  95. [18:33] <Faerzen_Norstov> state of that now? Several times since then, you have shown yourself to have knowledge you could not have had simply by observing your surroundings over the last couple of days.
  96. [18:34] <Regent[Book]> ...
  97. [18:34] <Regent[Book]> I-I-I'd rather not label myself
  98. [18:35] <Faerzen_Norstov> That is perfectly reasonable.
  99. [18:35] <Faerzen_Norstov> The label "omniscience" is quite a weighty one to bear.
  100. [18:36] <Faerzen_Norstov> I do not expect you to have nigh endless knowledge, nor do I necessarily wish you to. Do you feel however, that you have access to some source of knowledge besides your own memory of the past several days?
  101. [18:37] <Regent[Book]> I don't- maybe?
  102. [18:38] <Faerzen_Norstov> That is fine. You do not need to worry with straightening all of that out right now. If you so desire, you can do that at your own leisure.
  103. [18:38] <Faerzen_Norstov> The reason I inquire is that I was told to ask you something it seems highly unlikely that would know otherwise.
  104. [18:39] * Faerzen_Norstov cautiously reaches into his sylladex and decaptchalogues the Mysterious Wooden Box (Uuo - UNUNOCTIUM)
  105. [18:41] <Faerzen_Norstov> Do you happen to know what this is or where it came from?
  106. [18:41] * Faerzen_Norstov examines the box
  107. [18:41] <Regent[Book]> < gimme a minute to describe the box >
  108. [18:55] <Regent[Book]> The box is a light shade of salmon stained wood, and is delicately inlaid with dozens of swirls and fancy calligraphy-esque decor
  109. [18:57] * Faerzen_Norstov studies the box for any apparent mechanisms, cracks, latches, locks, or other things to figure out how to open the box (but not actually open it)
  110. [18:58] <Faerzen_Norstov> roll 1d20+9 investigation
  111. [18:58] <`DICE> Faerzen_Norstov rolled 1d20+9 investigation [ 1d20=20 ]{29}
  112. [18:58] <Faerzen_Norstov> ((awww yisss))
  113. [18:58] <Regent[Book]> The box should just open upon simply lifting the lid... It looks like...
  114. [18:58] <Regent[Book]> A box for containing makeup and beauty products
  115. [18:59] <Faerzen_Norstov> ((oh god its the box of comliness))
  116. [18:59] <Faerzen_Norstov> ((:P))
  117. [18:59] <Faerzen_Norstov> ((==>))
  118. [19:00] <Regent[Book]> < you gonna open it or? >
  119. [19:00] <Faerzen_Norstov> > (but not actually open it)
  120. [19:00] <Faerzen_Norstov> ((waiting for Regent's response))
  121. [19:01] <Regent[Book]> < oh yeah :P <
  122. [19:01] <Regent[Book]> It appears to be a make-up box
  123. [19:01] <Regent[Book]> I'd imagine it would contain makeups and perfumes and the like
  124. [19:02] <Faerzen_Norstov> Okay, so essentially your guess is as good as mine as to what this box is or contains, or where it came from?
  125. [19:02] <Regent[Book]> Yes
  126. [19:03] <Faerzen_Norstov> While I was thinking about the settlement for the case and I went to go think away from all of Lyra's mayhem, I decaptchalogued my pen and I saw a shadow out of the corner of my eye. Suddenly the box was there.
  127. [19:04] <Faerzen_Norstov> Several other people also seem to have obtained similarly mysterious boxes under similarly mysterious circumstances.
  128. [19:04] <Faerzen_Norstov> Byron opened his, and he claims that the box is from me in the future. In addition, he claims that the box contains Abyss.
  129. [19:05] <Faerzen_Norstov> He refused to tell me more than that--despite failing to do so--and told me that I was supposed to ask you about all of this.
  130. [19:05] <Regent[Book]> I have no idea what any of this is about
  131. [19:06] <Faerzen_Norstov> Apparently his box contained a note supposedly from me in the future telling him to tell me that if I wanted to know anything about this to talk to you.
  132. [19:06] <Faerzen_Norstov> Excellent.
  133. [19:06] <Faerzen_Norstov> I am glad that all of this still makes just as little sense as it did before, which is to say not very much sense at all.
  134. [19:07] <Faerzen_Norstov> I am having trouble identifying many things that could have produced that shadow effect and deposited the box in my sylladex so quickly before disappearing.
  135. [19:08] <Faerzen_Norstov> Alternate Nick was one candidate if he was able to somehow use Abyss's power, and anyone else with the ability to manipulate time could also be an option.
  136. [19:08] <Faerzen_Norstov> I am not currently aware of anyone being able to turn themselves invisible, but a lack of knowledge does not signify impossibility.
  137. [19:10] <Faerzen_Norstov> Do you have any ideas?
  138. [19:12] <Regent[Book]> Not really
  139. [19:13] <Faerzen_Norstov> Well, in that case, consider yourself informed on a topic I may or may not have indirectly told myself to inform you about, and we can continue to think about this.
  140. [19:13] <Faerzen_Norstov> *Reggie, do you have any idea what this is or where it might have come from? It was surreptitiously deposited in my sylladex while we were discussing the court settlement.*
  141. [19:14] <Regent[Book]> No clue
  142. [19:15] * Faerzen_Norstov reaches over and puts on the crown
  143. [19:15] <Faerzen_Norstov> *I know you said you wanted no part in shielding my mind from Abyss, but would it be acceptable to shield my mind from a mysterious and seemingly inanimate box, should its contents prove dangerous?*
  144. [19:16] <Regent[Book]> *Sure, I'll protect you from the ominous and threatening makeup box*
  145. [19:16] <Regent[Book]> *if you trust me to that is*
  146. [19:16] * Faerzen_Norstov chuckles
  147. [19:17] <Faerzen_Norstov> *I do trust you to do that. If it really is a makeup box, that will hardly even be necessary to begin with.*
  148. [19:17] * Faerzen_Norstov carefully tries to slowly lift the lid on the box
  149. [19:18] <Regent[Book]> Inside appears to be a large collection of beauty products for both genders, as well as a mirror, and a folded up charcoal black simple dress
  150. [19:20] * Faerzen_Norstov carefully reaches inside the box to retrieve its contents and place them on his desk so they are all easily seen
  151. [19:21] <Regent[Book]> More things than you knew existed. Nail polishes, makeups, different kinds of razors, hail gel, hair dye, other things you can't quite identify
  152. [19:22] <Faerzen_Norstov> Hmmmm
  153. [19:22] <Faerzen_Norstov> I cannot say I particularly knew what I was expecting when I noticed there was a box inside my sylladex, but it wasn't this.
  154. [19:23] <Regent[Book]> Under the dress lies a small note
  155. [19:23] * Faerzen_Norstov raises an eyebrow
  156. [19:23] * Faerzen_Norstov retrieves the dress, standing up and letting it unfurl to get a good look at it
  157. [19:24] <Regent[Book]> "You will want to have this with you later, trust me on this ;)" -Yourself from the Future
  158. [19:24] * Faerzen_Norstov examines the unfurled dress and the back side of the note
  159. [19:25] <Regent[Book]> the dress seems to just be simple and black and just really basic. It looks like there is a user interface by the right shoulder
  160. [19:25] * Faerzen_Norstov raises the other eyebrow and inspect the right shoulder more closely
  161. [19:27] <Regent[Book]> < dress looks like this >
  162. [19:27] <Regent[Book]> http://img.shein.com/images/sheinside.com/201311/1384241127769590656.jpg
  163. [19:29] <Faerzen_Norstov> ((cool))
  164. [19:29] * Faerzen_Norstov raises the other eyebrow and inspects the right shoulder more closely
  165. [19:31] <Regent[Book]> There is a small control panel that holographically displays dress designs with different colors, lengths, and styles as well as custom option designs to make your own dresses it seems
  166. [19:31] <Regent[Book]> Upon choosing an option the dress changes to match
  167. [19:32] <Faerzen_Norstov> ......whoa.
  168. [19:34] * Faerzen_Norstov looks at the dress, then the collection of products on his desk, then back to the desk, then to the note inside the box, utterly bewildered
  169. [19:35] <Regent[Book]> *It seems like at some point in time you are going to want to look pretty :)*
  170. [19:36] <Faerzen_Norstov> *Yes........ it does.*
  171. [19:36] <Regent[Book]> On the back of note, written in small text: "Oh, and the supplies inside there replenish themselves, so use as much as you like practicing"
  172. [19:37] <Faerzen_Norstov> :|
  173. [19:38] <Regent[Book]> < While you have on the makeup and have spent at least 10 minutes applying the supplies, you may for the next 24 hours use your INT mod for all CHA based checks >
  174. [19:38] <Faerzen_Norstov> I have never before put makeup on.
  175. [19:38] <Faerzen_Norstov> < holy fuck yes >
  176. [19:38] <Regent[Book]> < supplies regenerate once every 24 hours >
  177. [19:38] <Regent[Book]> *I'm sure you can look up some stuff online right?*
  178. [19:39] <Faerzen_Norstov> *I suppose that will have to suffice! If only my mother were still here......*
  179. [19:39] <Faerzen_Norstov> *I still wish I knew what happened to her, or at least knew that she was okay......*
  180. [19:40] <Faerzen_Norstov> *I mostly have simply tried burying the sorrow of her disappearance in all of the busyness and absurdity that is this game so I do not dwell on it.*
  181. [19:40] <Regent[Book]> *So...*
  182. [19:41] <Regent[Book]> *Not to be dismissive of your mother at all*
  183. [19:41] <Regent[Book]> *but why do you think you would send yourself this stuff?I
  184. [19:42] <Faerzen_Norstov> *I haven't the foggiest. The most likely reason is that my future self received these items around now from my point of view and had no choice but to send them to me lest timeline consistency be lost.*
  185. [19:42] <Faerzen_Norstov> *My future self has also likely had some more time to come to terms with the fact that they are now both genders.*
  186. [19:43] <Regent[Book]> *Alternate theory:*
  187. [19:43] <Faerzen_Norstov> *Like my mother, that is another complex issue that I have mostly pushes to the corners of my periphery as it has not seemed pressing.*
  188. [19:43] <Regent[Book]> *For some reason you want to look good, say maybe to impress Nick*
  189. [19:43] <Regent[Book]> *And you send them to yourself at this time to practice makeup*
  190. [19:44] <Regent[Book]> *Your future self may have chosen a gender but doesn't want to lock you into that choice so sends supplies for both genders*
  191. [19:44] <Regent[Book]> maybe that dress can do man's clothes too*
  192. [19:44] <Regent[Book]> *men's
  193. [19:45] * Faerzen_Norstov investigates controls for male clothing
  194. [19:46] <Regent[Book]> Same options, but with tuxedos
  195. [19:48] <Faerzen_Norstov> *If I were to be honest with you right now, I am leaning towards not "choosing" a gender per se. While it will be very difficult to get used to, I see no problems with being both and simply expressing one of them more visibly on the exterior depending on how often I have slept.*
  196. [19:49] <Faerzen_Norstov> *However, that is also an opinion I have only developed after a couple days of subconscious thought in the background, so even I do not know how much stock I put behind it at this point.*
  197. [19:49] <Regent[Book]> *Perhaps*
  198. [19:49] <Regent[Book]> *If one of your bodies dies however...*
  199. [19:50] * Faerzen_Norstov shudders
  200. [19:50] <Faerzen_Norstov> *I would prefer to not think about that at this point.*
  201. [19:50] <Faerzen_Norstov> *That bridge will be crossed when we get there, if necessary.*
  202. [19:51] <Faerzen_Norstov> *I would not like to set up gender contingency plans based on the hypothetical paranoia that one of my bodies could perish and ruin everything.*
  203. [19:51] <Faerzen_Norstov> *I will choose whatever it is I feel I want to do now, and if that changes later then so be it.*
  204. [19:52] <Regent[Book]> *Alright, I respect whatever decision you make about this*
  205. [19:52] <Faerzen_Norstov> *I honestly have yet to make one. My current decision is the absence of a decision, which in a way is still a decision.*
  206. [19:53] <Regent[Book]> *Soooooo....*
  207. [19:53] <Regent[Book]> *You want to go put on some makeup and get dressed up to see how Nick will react?*
  208. [19:54] <Faerzen_Norstov> *I actually have a different idea.*
  209. [19:54] <Faerzen_Norstov> *Something that I quite like.*
  210. [19:54] <Regent[Book]> *do tell*
  211. [19:55] <Faerzen_Norstov> *I shall pass on the makeup for the time being since it will prove to be irrelevant and likely poorly applied to begin with. However.......*
  212. [19:55] <Faerzen_Norstov> *I shall return shortly!*
  213. [19:55] * Faerzen_Norstov takes off the crown and places it on his desk
  214. [19:56] * Faerzen_Norstov walks over to his bed, being sure to not look at the windowsill where the beaker of earth was placed
  215. [19:56] <Faerzen_Norstov> *Abyss, I have an idea!*
  216. [19:57] <Abyss> ... Yes?
  217. [19:57] <Faerzen_Norstov> *How would you like to be inspiration for an entire fancy set of attire?*
  218. [19:57] <Faerzen_Norstov> *I think you would look very nice with an idea I have for a dress here.*
  219. [19:58] <Abyss> *Oh, really?*
  220. [19:59] <Faerzen_Norstov> *Or, perhaps, a tuxedo. I have yet to decide which.*
  221. [19:59] <Faerzen_Norstov> *I recently acquired this.*
  222. [19:59] * Faerzen_Norstov holds up the dress, which is currently on a long flowing red design
  223. [20:00] <Faerzen_Norstov> *I am able to design my own attire through it, and you gave me an idea.*
  224. [20:02] <Faerzen_Norstov> *Would you be amenable to being the centerpiece of the outfit?*
  225. [20:05] <Abyss> I would enjoy that very much
  226. [20:05] <Abyss> You hear in a happy voice
  227. [20:07] <Faerzen_Norstov> *How is the project coming along?*
  228. [20:08] <Faerzen_Norstov> *I promise I have not looked at whatever is over there on the windowsill since letting you get to work.*
  229. [20:08] <Abyss> O-oh, that
  230. [20:08] <Abyss> I... *ahem*
  231. [20:09] <Abyss> See for yourself...
  232. [20:10] <Faerzen_Norstov> You are finished?
  233. [20:11] <Abyss> ...
  234. [20:12] <Faerzen_Norstov> ?
  235. [20:13] <Abyss> Over in the corner what looks like a earthen claylike sculpture of a bird lies twisted and torn apart against the top of the table
  236. [20:13] <Abyss> I-I-I...
  237. [20:14] * Faerzen_Norstov sits down on the bed
  238. [20:14] <Faerzen_Norstov> What is the matter?
  239. [20:14] <Abyss> I don't...
  240. [20:15] <Abyss> I'm sorry, I got upset when you left alone in here for so long and I just...
  241. [20:15] <Faerzen_Norstov> Oh no, do not worry about the sculpture one bit.
  242. [20:15] <Faerzen_Norstov> I still stand by everything I said to you earlier.
  243. [20:16] <Faerzen_Norstov> None of that is changing.
  244. [20:16] <Faerzen_Norstov> I am sorry I was downstairs for so long.
  245. [20:16] <Abyss> ...
  246. [20:16] <Faerzen_Norstov> Things between me and Nick have been....... very very complicated, and most of that is entirely my fault.
  247. [20:17] <Faerzen_Norstov> I was talking with him for quite a long time about the mistakes I had made and the many ways I had hurt him.
  248. [20:17] <Faerzen_Norstov> I want things between the two of us to be right.
  249. [20:17] <Faerzen_Norstov> And talking through that took a very long time.
  250. [20:17] <Abyss> I'm sorry... I couldn't even make a gift for you...
  251. [20:17] <Faerzen_Norstov> I told Nick about you, by the way.
  252. [20:17] <Faerzen_Norstov> He says he would like to meet you at some point.
  253. [20:18] <Abyss> I just destroy...
  254. [20:18] <Faerzen_Norstov> No you don't!
  255. [20:18] <Faerzen_Norstov> Stop talking like that.
  256. [20:18] <Faerzen_Norstov> We went over this, okay? You didn't directly cause any of that, and on top of that, you had no idea what you were doing.
  257. [20:18] <Abyss> But look
  258. [20:18] <Abyss> Even this
  259. [20:19] <Faerzen_Norstov> This?
  260. [20:19] <Abyss> I failed at making just a silly trinket to show my appreciation
  261. [20:19] <Faerzen_Norstov> This is a sculpture! Sculpting earth into beautiful shapes is difficult and takes time.
  262. [20:19] <Faerzen_Norstov> Especially after all of the bullshit you've been through, it is totally reasonable that you were distraught!
  263. [20:20] <Abyss> No... You don't...
  264. [20:20] <Faerzen_Norstov> You have quite literally spent the last week up until now on the face and in the minds of insane individuals who only sought to kill and destroy.
  265. [20:20] <Abyss> I destroyed this myself
  266. [20:20] <Faerzen_Norstov> I cannot even begin to imagine how that must have felt.
  267. [20:20] <Abyss> After I had made it
  268. [20:20] <Faerzen_Norstov> Why?
  269. [20:21] <Abyss> ...
  270. [20:21] <Abyss> (No response)
  271. [20:21] <Abyss> < your ... Comment almost crashed my phone due to its length >
  272. [20:22] <Faerzen_Norstov> If you do not know, that is perfectly fine. You can try again. I have always been quite rubbish at art because I always destroy my creations afterwards because I do not think them good enough.
  273. [20:22] <Faerzen_Norstov> I eventually gave up trying.
  274. [20:22] <Faerzen_Norstov> But you do not have to.
  275. [20:22] <Abyss> ...
  276. [20:22] <Faerzen_Norstov> Look.
  277. [20:22] <Faerzen_Norstov> I do not believe that you are inherently destructive. You have been carried around by psychotic monsters who only wanted to use you to kill.
  278. [20:22] <Faerzen_Norstov> You were a tool to them, and they used you for what they wanted. Even if that is all you have known, that doesn't mean it is all you will ever be.
  279. [20:22] <Faerzen_Norstov> My father always told me something: "Faerzen, we know not what the future holds in store, only the past. All we can do here in the present is let that past refine us, not define us."
  280. [20:22] <Faerzen_Norstov> I think that is true.
  281. [20:22] <Faerzen_Norstov> My father was a very odd man, but he always had a knack for being right when he said these sorts of things.
  282. [20:22] <Abyss> ... Maybe you're right
  283. [20:22] <Abyss> ... Do you trust me Faerzen?
  284. * Faerzen_Norstov sits thinking for a moment
  285. [20:22] <Faerzen_Norstov> I am trying to think of what it is exactly I am feeling right now.
  286. [20:22] <Faerzen_Norstov> I think I have an answer to you now, though.
  287. [20:29] <Faerzen_Norstov> It is very difficult for me to look past the terrible things your Nick did. You would know even better than me, just what he did.
  288. [20:29] <Faerzen_Norstov> But I cannot necessarily blame you for those things.
  289. [20:30] <Faerzen_Norstov> Honestly, the things that Nick did with you terrify me.
  290. [20:31] <Faerzen_Norstov> However, despite that, I trust that you want to move past those and grow beyond just what your past tried to define you as. I hardly know you at this point, but I intend to change that.
  291. [20:31] <Faerzen_Norstov> You don't deserve to be abused and abandoned like you have been.
  292. [20:34] <Abyss> ...
  293. [20:34] <Abyss> ... I just want somebody to stick with me and be my friend
  294. [20:36] * Faerzen_Norstov holds both arms in front of himself and points at his chest with both hands
  295. [20:36] <Faerzen_Norstov> Well here I am.
  296. [20:37] <Abyss> How can you be friends with me when you think I'm a sociopathic killer who destroyed your boyfriend?
  297. [20:39] <Faerzen_Norstov> I don't think that.
  298. [20:39] <Faerzen_Norstov> I think that my boyfriend was a lonely, angry, and unstable, and that he used you to destroy himself. Along with everyone else around him.
  299. [20:39] <Faerzen_Norstov> I specifically asked him this.
  300. [20:40] <Abyss> < HAH GOTCHA FAERZEN CALLED NICK HIS BOYFRIEND IN CANON~~~~~ >
  301. [20:40] <Faerzen_Norstov> Ever since he had his mask, he never felt the mask make him do anything. The only thing that led to his depression and destruction was him using the mask's power for his own twisted thoughts.
  302. [20:40] <Faerzen_Norstov> < i mean, they are now, now that they had that talk >
  303. [20:41] <Abyss> < :P >
  304. [20:41] <Faerzen_Norstov> < hehehehe >
  305. [20:41] <Faerzen_Norstov> He told me precisely that.
  306. [20:41] <Abyss> So what is it you do think of me
  307. [20:45] <Faerzen_Norstov> I told you. I think you are lonely and confused and hurt, and have been taken advantage of by multiple psychotic people to cause mayhem. I am terrified of what other people used you for, but I do not think that you are to blame for what they did with you. I think you have been through a whole hell of a lot of insanity being stuck in the minds of al
  308. [20:45] <Faerzen_Norstov> ternate Lyra and Nick, and now that you are free you do not particularly know what to make of the outside world. All of that is hard, but I think you want to grow past it.
  309. [20:51] <Abyss> And do you trust me?
  310. [20:53] <Abyss> I want a straight answer
  311. [20:54] <Faerzen_Norstov> ........
  312. [20:54] * Faerzen_Norstov takes a deep breath
  313. [20:54] * Faerzen_Norstov lets it out slowly through his nose
  314. [20:55] * Faerzen_Norstov closes his eyes, trying to calm himself
  315. [20:56] <Faerzen_Norstov> I trust you, yes.
  316. [20:56] <Faerzen_Norstov> It is far harder for me to than I would like though, and I want to fix that.
  317. [20:56] <Abyss> ...
  318. [20:56] <Faerzen_Norstov> But I do trust you.
  319. [20:56] <Abyss> Thank you for trusting me
  320. [20:58] * Faerzen_Norstov begins trembling slightly
  321. [20:58] <Abyss> nobody... has ever really just....
  322. [20:59] <Abyss> trusted. me before
  323. [20:59] <Faerzen_Norstov> To think that I just said what I did and that I meant it........ If I had told myself 5 days ago that I would feel like this, I would have thought myself crazy.......... I was terrified then, and true fear is one of the most difficult emotions for me to overcome.
  324. [21:00] <Faerzen_Norstov> I guess times change, huh?
  325. [21:00] * Faerzen_Norstov smiles
  326. [21:00] <Faerzen_Norstov> You're welcome.
  327. [21:00] <Faerzen_Norstov> I am glad I could be the first. :)
  328. [21:02] <Abyss> I appreciate it a lot Faerzen
  329. [21:03] <Abyss> Even though I can't show it
  330. [21:10] <Faerzen_Norstov> As I already said, you don't need to
  331. [21:10] <Abyss> I want to
  332. [21:12] <Faerzen_Norstov> Yes, but you don't need to and you should know that you aren't a failure and aren't terrible if you don't.
  333. [21:12] <Faerzen_Norstov> You tried to make that sculpture and it didn't work. That is fine.
  334. [21:12] <Faerzen_Norstov> You can try again later or try something else.
  335. [21:17] <Abyss> ok
  336. [21:20] <Faerzen_Norstov> I am sure whatever it is you decide to make will be wonderful in the end when you are finished with it. :)
  337. [21:21] <Abyss> y-yeah maybe
  338. [21:24] <Faerzen_Norstov> If it doesn't end up working out, then take a break and try again later. Making things can be hard. These glasses? They took me the better part of a year to finally make functional and operational.
  339. [21:25] <Abyss> Abyss does the mental equivalent of a nod
  340. [21:26] <Faerzen_Norstov> Feeling better?
  341. [21:27] <Abyss> A little bit now that I know you trust me
  342. [21:28] <Faerzen_Norstov> How about I go get changed and then I come back here and we can be fancy together?
  343. [21:29] <Abyss> I would like that very much
  344. [21:30] <Faerzen_Norstov> Excellent! I will return shortly.
  345. [21:30] * Faerzen_Norstov smooths some of Abyss's feathers before getting up and returning to his desk, looking through the various containers, particularly the unknown ones
  346. [21:31] <Abyss> < Looking for what? >
  347. [21:33] <Faerzen_Norstov> < looking at the previously mentioned "other things you can't quite identify" >
  348. [21:34] <Abyss> You find what appear to be shoe polish, some sort of... Aftershave? A liquid that could be mouthwash...
  349. [21:35] <Faerzen_Norstov> Hmmmmmm.........
  350. [21:36] * Faerzen_Norstov grabs a container of hair shaping paste, a container of cologne, and the possibly shoe polish and mouthwash
  351. [21:37] * Faerzen_Norstov walks over to his wall of drawers and easily locates the alphabetically sorted drawer for dress shoes and retrieves a minimalist pair of black dress shoes that almost look like slippers, as well as a matching pair of black shoes
  352. [21:37] * Faerzen_Norstov shrugs
  353. [21:38] <Faerzen_Norstov> I suppose these shoes are the shoes that seem the most petite, so they will have to do.
  354. [21:38] * Faerzen_Norstov leaves his room and heads to the bathroom, setting all of the containers on the counter and the shoes and socks on the floor
  355. [21:39] * Faerzen_Norstov gestures to bring up his wireless device connection app on his glasses, searching to see if the dress controls are something he can interface with
  356. [21:43] <Faerzen_Norstov> < does it work? >
  357. [21:43] <Abyss> < Oh, notification didn't work >
  358. [21:43] <Abyss> < yeah it works >
  359. [21:45] * Faerzen_Norstov connects to the dress interface and projects a hologram of the dress design in front of him
  360. [21:46] * Faerzen_Norstov puts the dress controls to "custom"
  361. [21:46] * Faerzen_Norstov starts with the base of that frankly quite beautiful black dress, and begins making slight modifications. A bit tighter here, some embroidery here.....
  362. [21:47] * Faerzen_Norstov makes sweeping motions with his hands over the hologram, effectively using his hands as paintbrushes to manipulate the holographic design
  363. [21:48] * Faerzen_Norstov begins replacing some of the ornate lace patterns with more angular designs, using a motif of two curved lines swooping together to make a sort of curved V shape, both in the decorations on the front and in the neckline
  364. [21:49] <Abyss> < We have a new art project for Roo it seems >
  365. [21:49] * Faerzen_Norstov begins retracing the swooping shapes with his hand, flicking his wrists to add pitch black feathers along the patterns
  366. [21:50] * Faerzen_Norstov rotates the dress to repeat a similar design on the back, but making a hole in the back for a pair of wings and having the feather patterns centered around that
  367. [21:51] * Faerzen_Norstov steps back to take a look at the design, and decides to lengthen the dress to about ankle length
  368. [21:53] * Faerzen_Norstov continues the V pattern around the neck to take some feathers up at the shoulders, reminiscent of the way an owl's feathers make a V shape on its face (http://hdwyn.com/wallpaper/owl_face_predator_hd-wallpaper-50066.jpg)
  369. [21:55] * Faerzen_Norstov stands back to survey the work as a whole and decides to add another V pattern around the knees now that the dress is somewhat lengthened
  370. [21:55] * Faerzen_Norstov looks at the dress, satisfied enough, and hits the button on the dress to tell it to create that pattern
  371. [21:56] <Abyss> It works
  372. [21:56] * Faerzen_Norstov meanwhile begins taking off his rather clunky Dress of ICE Shields and breathes a pleased sigh of freedom one he is out of its confines
  373. [21:57] * Faerzen_Norstov looks in the mirror and uses the hair shaping paste to fix his hair from its state of being frankly horribly everywhere after a hasty nap and several days of fighting and lawyering without being tended to
  374. [21:57] <Abyss> < Huh. Doesn't even go for the Tux option >
  375. [21:58] <Faerzen_Norstov> < Faerzen thinks his idea would look much better on a dress, and he was already wearing a dress >
  376. [21:58] <Abyss> < Good. The conditioning is working :P >
  377. [21:59] <Abyss> < Faerzen is no longer seemingly opposed to wearing dresses? >
  378. [21:59] <Faerzen_Norstov> < Faerzen thinks the feathered dress idea he has would look much less intimidating than a feathered tux as well, and considering Nick is super hesitant about this whole Abyss thing, Faerzen wants things to look as gentle as he can >
  379. [21:59] <Faerzen_Norstov> < most of the dress frustration came before he knew he had a female dream self too >
  380. [22:00] <Abyss> < :P >
  381. [22:00] * Faerzen_Norstov smooths his hair down on the sides and back, and gathers the hair on top in the center of his head, drawing it forward in a line and spiking it up in the front
  382. [22:01] * Faerzen_Norstov seems satisfied with his hair, so he takes the bottle of cologne and sprays his bare chest and neck with it
  383. [22:01] * Faerzen_Norstov opens the container of what might be shoe polish to examine it
  384. [22:02] <Abyss> Well as far as you can tell it is shoe polish
  385. [22:02] <Abyss> You're not really well versed on what shoe polish looks like, but this is probably it
  386. [22:06] * Faerzen_Norstov pulls a small cloth out of the dispenser on the wall and dips it in the polish, applying some to the pair of shoes that he hasn't worn in quite a long time
  387. [22:06] <Abyss> You conclude that this is definitely shoe polish
  388. [22:06] * Faerzen_Norstov rubs the little bit of the black paste around on both shoes, buffing it and using it to cover up scratches and scuffs on the shoes so it looks shiny and black, like the feathers on the dress and Abyss
  389. [22:07] * Faerzen_Norstov finishes polishing the shoes and moves to the sink where the last container rests, opening it and sniffing it
  390. [22:08] <Abyss> A light blue liquid that smells like mint
  391. [22:09] <Abyss> Consistency is about that of water
  392. [22:09] * Faerzen_Norstov shrugs and pours a small amount into the cap and sips it investigatively
  393. [22:09] <Abyss> It tastes like mint
  394. [22:09] <Abyss> Conclusion: Mint Gatorade or Mothwash
  395. [22:10] <Abyss> Given the context it's probably mouthwash
  396. [22:11] * Faerzen_Norstov sips the remainder of the contents of the cap and swishes it around in his mouth for about 30 seconds
  397. [22:12] * Faerzen_Norstov spits it out into the sink and takes a deep breath, turning to the dress
  398. [22:12] * Faerzen_Norstov holds his wings vertically above him to stay out of the way and steps carefully into the dress
  399. [22:13] * Faerzen_Norstov finishes putting the dress on and straightening the shoulders
  400. [22:14] * Faerzen_Norstov slips on the short black socks and the smaller dress shoes
  401. [22:14] * Faerzen_Norstov stands back to look in the mirror, turning to see the front and back of himself
  402. [22:16] * Faerzen_Norstov admires how the shiny jet black feathers of the dress contrast with his bright white feathers with gold trim and his blond hair
  403. [22:16] * Faerzen_Norstov smirks
  404. [22:16] <Abyss> < Once you go black... >
  405. [22:17] * Faerzen_Norstov hangs the Dress of ICE Shields up in the bathroom and heads back to his bedroom
  406. [22:17] * Faerzen_Norstov walks to his bed and picks up the mask
  407. [22:18] <Faerzen_Norstov> Excellent! The feathers match. I was hoping I had remembered their shape well enough. It is a good thing I tend to have a good memory. :)
  408. [22:18] <Faerzen_Norstov> What do you think, Abyss?
  409. [22:18] <Abyss> Oh my...
  410. [22:19] <Abyss> You look amazing...
  411. [22:19] <Abyss> You did this to make me more comfortable?
  412. [22:20] <Faerzen_Norstov> Well yes! But also because I recently acquired a new piece of technology and I wanted to try it out.
  413. [22:20] <Faerzen_Norstov> This piece of material manipulation technology is really quite amazing.
  414. [22:20] <Abyss> Faerzen, seriously, I can not thank you enough
  415. [22:20] <Faerzen_Norstov> I am glad you like it. :)
  416. [22:21] * Faerzen_Norstov puts Abyss on and looks in the mirror
  417. [22:22] <Abyss> You look just stunning in this dress with Abyss
  418. [22:22] <Abyss> Maybe it will come off as too intimidating to Nick...
  419. [22:23] <Abyss> What with you all in your fancy dress...
  420. [22:27] <Faerzen_Norstov> < what is the canon appearance of Reggie's crown? Is it something more minimalist like http://www.camiasdesigns.com/images/circlets/summer-leaves-circlet.jpg or http://www.unfauxgettabledesigns.eu/652_500_csupload_38938414.jpg?u=2555441218 or http://img14.deviantart.net/027b/i/2009/288/f/f/silvermoon_headpiece_circlet_by_elnaraniall.jpg or http://r

  422. [22:27] <Faerzen_Norstov> < was it ever decided? >
  423. [22:28] <Abyss> < crown appearance is undecided I guess... >
  424. [22:28] <Abyss> ~ no wait <
  425. [22:28] <Abyss> < it's a tiara >
  426. [22:28] <Faerzen_Norstov> < excellent, ill take it then >
  427. [22:29] <Faerzen_Norstov> Well then, that just about does it.
  428. [22:30] <Faerzen_Norstov> Reggie, would you like to come say hello to Nick?
