  1. Born in the East side of Cloverbrook to Matthew and Chanelle Knight, Kennedi Nedra "Nettie" Knight was the middle of three children, with her older brother Andy and younger brother Pierce. Throughout her life, Nettie found herself in the middle of a cast of characters at home: Chanelle constantly insisted on proving her dominance as the family matriarch, overriding anything Matthew chose to say and taking control of any situation in the family, while also remaining almost stereotypically witty, sarcastic, and not taking any nonsense from her children, and while she was almost feared for her biting attitude, she always had the respect of her children; Matthew was a weak-willed drunk who rarely tried to raise his kids, leaving all the work to Chanelle and only doing anything to help with the family when asked; Andy, eight years older than Nettie, was flamboyantly gay, and frequently went out to clubs and events and tried to bring his family with them to bring joy to their lives when they were struggling, while also helping Chanelle and Nettie with their wardrobes while Matthew refused to fully acknowledge his homosexuality; and finally, Pierce, a full 20 years younger than Nettie, went down a completely different path from the rest of his family, quickly becoming associated with gangs in the outskirts of Cloverbrook and in the city of San Francisco, often escaping legal trouble by the skin of his teeth with only Nettie and Andy knowing about his habits. Despite struggles she faced with them, Nettie loved her family immensely.
  2. Andy was born to Chanelle and Matthew while the two were juniors in high school, causing both to drop out to try and take care of the child. Despite the stigma against the two caused due to their choices, the two managed to get together and get married soon after Andy was born, and the two hoped to start a happy relationship and life together. However, reality hit them hard when they couldn't find proper success, with Matthew never being able to find a job and Chanelle constantly career-hopping, resulting in the family of three living paycheck-to-paycheck with little to no breathing room. Despite the struggles they already faced, in 1967, 8 years after Andy was born, Chanelle became pregnant again and gave birth to Kennedi Nedra Knight, who established at a young age she preferred the nickname "Nettie".
  3. The family continued to struggle to survive in their unfortunate situation, until both Nettie and Andy reached adulthood and began to help out with the family, getting jobs to continue to support them. Despite spreading herself thin between school and work, Nettie had astounding grades, always managing to turn in work and ace tests, though she was occasionally reprimanded for her blunt, sassy behavior. She also expressed throughout high school that she wished she could do things to help other people manage their lives, not wanting anyone to struggle like her family did, though she never let this become known to Chanelle in fear of causing an argument. She began to take psychology-related classes in high school, wanting to know how to understand and work alongside people in hopes it could lead her to a career in her future that could help others. Upon graduating high school, she was shocked to hear she was granted a scholarship to UCLA, and quickly dove into the school's Psychology program to continue the pattern she started in high school. Throughout her college career, she began to look up various psychology-related careers, seeing things such as becoming a therapist or counselor as viable options, until she met a life coach in Los Angeles, and quickly decided she wanted to pursuit that as a career to help others get their lives together at difficult times.
  4. In her junior year of college, Nettie gained another sibling, with Chanelle and Matthew believing Chanelle was no longer capable of having children only to be proven wrong when the couple's second son, 28 years younger than Andy and named "Pierce" was born. Between their busy schedules, Andy and Nettie took turns taking care of baby Pierce. Upon graduating college with a PhD in Psychology, 22-year-old Nettie continued to pursuit a career as a life coach, finding other life coaches in the state of California to study under for a few years. At the age of 27, she finally began to work on her own, and slowly gained customers, although they seemed hesitant to join due to her being new to the job. She was also questioned due to her techniques and behavior, showing an extremely sarcastic, candid and borderline-insulting attitude, which she only used when she saw necessary, showing a more compassionate and sensitive side when she believed it to be fitting. Her career quickly took off over the next two years, and she found herself avoiding responsibilities with her family to continue her work and help others with their lives.
  5. At the age of 29, after having a meeting with a client in a bar in Los Angeles, Nettie met 33-year-old Ray Dodson, a successful stockbroker, and the two almost immediately hit it off. Ray showed intense interest in her work, and helped support her with it the best he could. The two found themselves officially in a relationship only weeks after meeting each other. Feeling successful with her clients and new found romance, Nettie offered her services at her own alma mater UCLA, helping college students, knowing the difficulties of being at that time in life. As a result, she became known for working with people between the ages of 18 and 25, though she still had many clients of other ages. She eventually became one of the best-known life coaches in the country, if not the world. The success continued for her as her relationship with Ray grew, until he asked her to marry him on her shortly after her 31st birthday. The two then moved in with each other, causing a distance between Nettie and her family due to her essentially abandoning them. The two were married one year later, on Nettie's 32nd birthday in 1999.
  6. Distracted by her success and relationship, Nettie's family began to resent her for leaving them in Cloverbrook for her own life, despite her sending money to them to support them. However, Andy stayed friends with Nettie, and constantly talked to her whenever the two could. Over the next few years, she heard countless stories from Andy about what was going on back at her old home in Cloverbrook, with Chanelle becoming more and more outwardly violent and Matthew still remaining quiet, while Pierce began to become affiliated with gangs, causing the two to worry about him, while Chanelle and Matthew remained oblivious. Nettie seemed almost in denial about the path Pierce was going on, until she encountered him during a lunch date with a client, witnessing him mugging a man in an alley in the city, causing her to lash out at him for his behavior, only for him to retaliate by stating the entire family made him that way by not paying attention to him.
  7. Between then and the present, Nettie's family at home seemed to fall apart completely, with Andy leaving Cloverbrook in 2008. But the most shocking news came to Nettie when she learned that Chanelle's anger reached a shocking peak, with her murdering Matthew in a violent rage in 2010 while the two were in Los Angeles searching for Pierce, resulting in Chanelle being detained and sentenced to 25-years-to-life in the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. With no family members left to take care of him, Pierce became entirely absorbed into the world of gangs, and Nettie never heard from him again. Despite being deeply upset over the chaos in Cloverbrook, Nettie didn't let it interfere with the rest of her life, still continuing her work and staying in her happy marriage with Ray.
  8. Nettie then lost the last family member she had, Ray, in early 2014 when Ray stated he was beginning to grow tired of his marriage with her. Nettie attempted to mend them quickly, even using some of her social skills relating to her job, only to be coldly shut down. Ray filed for divorce shortly afterwards, and the two began to turn on each other more often. Hurt by losing the last person she felt strongly connected to in her life, Nettie began to experience her own turmoil, despite continuing her work helping others with their problems. Upon searching through Ray's phone, she discovered he had been cheating on her for some time with a woman named Joyce, who she saw he claimed to love in their messages together. Distraught and hurt, Nettie hired her own laywer, ready to sue Ray for his manner of leaving her. In May of 2014, Nettie saw her life in Los Angeles go back and forth between dreary while alone and stressful while in contact with Ray, and she decided to move back home to Cloverbrook.
  9. Setting up back at home, but moving to the wealthier Crystal Falls rather than her home in he East, she continued to advertise for her profession, knowing others in Cloverbrook could be in need of her services, and continued to work with her usual methods, seeing clients in public places or in their own homes, but never allowing them to her own house. She gained more clients than she originally expected, and continued to see success in Cloverbrook, and slowly began to get over the issues of loss she faced. Thinking she could recover in Cloverbrook, she found herself tormented by Ray, often having to return to Los Angeles to speak to him with their lawyers over their divorce issues. However, aside from her issues with Ray, Nettie began to see happiness again in Cloverbrook, seeing how amazing the town was when she wasn't faced with the issues she had in her childhood, and she reveled in her success and happiness in the town, hoping she wouldn't have to run into any more stress.
