Anton Dalcus, head of a Korvosan minor noble house, was nervous for his and his wife's first child. This child would hold the hopes and the future of House Dalcus upon their shoulders. Unfortunately, the birth of young Silvia Dalcus was not a joyous one; Silvia was born with a small pair of wolf ears that sat atop her head and a tail that came out of the base of her spine. To Anton, these were a sign that Silvia was not his child and that she must have been a product of some infidelity on his wife's part. Rumors of a bastard from their house being put on the street would tarnish the Dalcus name, so Silvia was kept indoors under the public excuse of "poor health". Though she hadn't been kicked out on the streets, she hadn't been accepted as part of the family with her place being somewhere above a servant.

As the years went on and the Dalcus family grew to have legitimate children, Silvia's father neglected her more. She retreated into the written word, spending most of her time in the family library. She became enamored with the stories of Shelyn, as familial love was something she hadn’t experienced beyond occasional moments between some of her half-siblings. Silvia developed a habit of sneaking off the grounds to see more of this world she had read about, leading her to begin exploring the city of Korvosa. In one of these strolls, she found herself at the Sanctuary of Shelyn and met one Marin Vasiles. Marin Vasiles was the librarian for the sanctuary and had many travels in his days as a priest of Shelyn. Silvia was enamored by the stories of the far off lands, interesting creatures and wondrous sights that Vasiles shared with her.

Silvia's visits to the Sanctuary became more common with time as it was a place that she felt comfortable. In time, Vasiles extended her an offer that would change her life, an offer to join the Songbirds, the Shelynite paladin order that Vasiles was a member of. Silvia was overjoyed at the proposal and agreed right away, without much thought of her family. When she told her parents of the news, they urged her to take the offer. This came as no surprise to anyone seeing as this was the perfect way for House Dalcus to get rid of a nuisance and for Silvia to move on from her childhood.

Description:
Silvia is a young Korvosan woman with long silver hair often held in a ponytail, blue eyes, and pale skin that has a hint of a bluish hue to it. She has lithe build with a hint of muscle mass to it that seems like it would lend itself well to dancing at a harvest festival. However, the most noticeable of Silvia’s features would be the wolf ears on her head and the tail that peeks out of her armor. She always seems mindful of her surroundings, her ears perking up to the sounds around her.

Flaws:
Close relations have been a bit of a rarity in Silvia's life, so she's easily embarrassed by praise or flirting. The tension between her parents has left her untrusting of romantic relationships, though sometimes she pines for romance regardless. She wants to be needed by those close to her and tries to impress them through an excessive willingness to help. Silvia is overprotective of her allies, becoming unsure of herself when they are injured.

Personality
People that have known Silvia for a while would describe her as shy and a bit bookish. She's studious and level headed, preferring to use simple solutions over more complex or violent ones. Silvia enjoys large meals, though she practices frugality with purchase. Her desires to learn and see more of the world compel an inquisitive attitude of the new or novel.
