  3. [2013-01-02 13:17:15] <Kkat> 3Shatara vanishes in a twinkle of light.
  4. [2013-01-02 13:17:22] <Kkat> 3Noble_Heart peers into the darkness and snow. "Shatara!?" Spreading her wings and beating harder to rush towards where the griffin had vanished.
  5. [2013-01-02 13:17:30] <Kkat> 3Mitzi sees Shatara vanish and runs for it in alarm, expecting trouble.
  6. [2013-01-02 13:17:40] <Kkat> 3Noble_Heart rushes towards where Shatara vanished... and is gone.
  7. [2013-01-02 13:17:47] <Kkat> 3Kid blinks. Wait, what? STOP. STOP KID. STOOOP. "Noble! Shatara! Where are y'? Where did y' go?"
  8. [2013-01-02 13:17:55] <Kkat> 3Mitzi is close behind, and when Noble_Heart disappears in front of her, there is no time to stop. A breath later, Mitzi has vanished as well.

  13. [2013-01-02 13:20:49] * Get_Lost stares at her friends disappear as her hindlegs fail and she falls with her rump in the snow, with a surprised face "what the... they were disintegrated!?"
  14. [2013-01-02 13:21:00] * Kid hustles into her knapsack and fetches her rope, gone a tad ragged by now. Thinking quickly, She ties it into a lasso and throws it into the air where she saw them last. Oh Celestia, Oh Littlepip, Oh Luna, oh anypony that'll listen, don't let this fucking lasso sizzle. Please. "Nopony else fucking move a muscle!" She shouted to the rest.
  15. [2013-01-02 13:21:30] * Bookwright "No, disintegration leaves goo, or at least ash. I think they were either teleported, or... we just can't see them anymore."
  16. [2013-01-02 13:22:13] <Kkat> 3The lasso hurls into the snowy air, the ending loop of it vanishing in thin air.
  17. [2013-01-02 13:22:16] * Get_Lost nodnods rapidly at bookie's words "right, no residuate... they could have just teleported, or maybe there is simply an invisible barrier?"
  18. [2013-01-02 13:22:31] * CopyCat lands in the snow, staring wild-eyed at where the others had vanished.
  19. [2013-01-02 13:23:00] <Kkat> 3The rope drops to the snow, severed.
  20. [2013-01-02 13:23:35] * Bookwright looks down at the severed rope, "Okay. Everypony stop. Don't... Don't move. I think I can figure out the nature of this barrier."
  21. [2013-01-02 13:23:42] * Get_Lost blinks a couple of times "okay... ookay, that's not alarming at all the... the rope has been cut..."
  22. [2013-01-02 13:23:43] * Kid looks at Bookwright and feels her heart lighten a little. Just a little. But not much. She pulls it back and hopes that all of it comes back, hoping that it was just some trick of the snow that she didn't see the end of the rope... Or the potential ashes.
  23. [2013-01-02 13:25:10] * Bookwright closes his eyes, muttering, "Chkdsk, google, britannica, wikipedia..." His horn glows with soft amber light, like honey.
  24. [2013-01-02 13:25:23] <Kkat> 3As Kid pulls, several more inches of the rope appear... and then it ends abruptly, the edge of the cut fried and smoking.
  25. [2013-01-02 13:26:27] * Get_Lost tilts her head "that's... not a good sign..."
  26. [2013-01-02 13:29:16] * Kid feels a wave of relief wash over her as she pulls in more rope. Oh, thank Celestia. Thank fucking- oh fuck the end is gone. She looks at the fried and smoking rope and just stares at it for a moment.
  27. [2013-01-02 13:29:30] * CopyCat starts breathing frantically, almost hyperventilating. "They can't be gone...theycan'tbegonetheycan'tbegonetheycan'tbegone!"
  28. [2013-01-02 13:30:20] * Get_Lost puts a hoof on CopyCat's hoof, muttering "no they... they aren't gone, okay? this.. .this would be unfair... right?"
  29. [2013-01-02 13:30:43] * Bookwright opens his eyes and lets out a slow breath. "It's... it's not an illusion. There's no trace of illusion magic in that barrier. It's definitely defensive in nature, but there's also a strong aspect of manipulation. If I were to guess... It's a teleportation barrier, intended to move unauthorized people... somewhere."
  30. [2013-01-02 13:31:38] * Get_Lost at bookie's words, the mare shrugs "well then, i don't know you, but i don't want to get separated from the others..."
  31. [2013-01-02 13:32:28] * Bookwright continues, "This is the most powerful magical effect I've ever encountered. No single pony could cast this, it would take the collective power of many very strong unicorns to cast this barrier, and to maintain it... I don't even want to think about the sheer magnitude of the energy requirements for maintaining this thing."
  32. [2013-01-02 13:32:54] * Bookwright "...Especially for more than two hundred years."
  33. [2013-01-02 13:34:09] * Get_Lost "well then, so i guess you never heard of megaspells, bookie?" the mare approaches the place where stuff disappears and takes off her shades, seeing if the reflecting surface interacts somehow with the field
  34. [2013-01-02 13:34:11] * Kid lowers her head, hat covering her eye. "... Don't." She looks at Get_Lost, eye red and glassy as if she was trying, and failing, to hold back tears. "There's no w-way to know where this thing sends ponies to. Maybe the prison. Maybe in a volcano."
  35. [2013-01-02 13:34:58] <Kkat> 3Snowflakes land on Get_Lost's shades.
  36. [2013-01-02 13:35:23] * CopyCat nearly jumps at Get's touch and looks over at Bookwright with a flicker of hope. "Moved? But... but where to?" Her breathing slows down and she closes her eyes, now concentrating hard.
  37. [2013-01-02 13:37:13] * Bookwright shakes his head, "No, I know about megaspells. This is undoubtedly one. I've just never heard of one that lasted for more than two hundred years." To CopyCat he replies, "At a guess? Some kind of holding area or prison. This was supposed to be a secret camp, remember? It wouldn't do to let civilians, or infiltrators who discovered it get away with knowing where it is."
  38. [2013-01-02 13:39:00] * Get_Lost "i think... that there is no illusion running, here... simply there is some sort of magical effect trigggering as soon as somepony enters the area... probably the teleportation thing that bookie said..."
  39. [2013-01-02 13:39:30] * Kid grits her teeth. "Ah don' fuckin' know! Alright? Somewhere pretty fuckin' bad if it burnt th' end of my rope clean off!"
  40. [2013-01-02 13:40:33] * Bookwright "Kid, that's just an effect of teleporting part of an object. If you'd thrown your rope all the way through, it would have ended up on the other side in one piece. This barrier isn't intended to kill, I don't think."
  41. [2013-01-02 13:41:24] * Get_Lost "well then i don't want to stand halfway in this field, i neeed my plot..."
  42. [2013-01-02 13:42:00] * CopyCat speaks quietly. "They are... close. But I can't hear them. They are like whispers in the wind."
  43. [2013-01-02 13:43:05] * Get_Lost takes a look at bookie "probably again an effect of the megaspell?"
  44. [2013-01-02 13:43:36] * Bookwright nods slowly, "So they're alive, at least. I hate to say this, but I think the only way we may be able to get to them is to... go through the barrier ourselves."
  45. [2013-01-02 13:44:32] * Get_Lost "yep, i guess it is better than being separated from our friends, right?" the mare frowns staring at the empty void in front of her "mind if i go first?"
  46. [2013-01-02 13:44:46] * Kid felt relieved. She also felt scared as hell that she didn't know where the hell this leads. "... Are you /real/ fuckin' sure ya'll heard them?"
  47. [2013-01-02 13:45:54] * Get_Lost smiles at kid, trying to cheer the filliy "oh, c'mon kid! science can't be domne without taking some risks!"
  48. [2013-01-02 13:46:22] * Kid glares at Get_Lost. "Ah ain't here t' do science, and ya'll ain't either."
  49. [2013-01-02 13:47:05] * Get_Lost "well, i'm a solaris, i love new stuff!" the mare trots in the disappearing area
  50. [2013-01-02 13:48:59] * Bookwright watches passively as Get_Lost moves into contact with the barrier.
  51. [2013-01-02 13:49:42] * Bookwright lets out a juddering sigh, "Let it never be said I won't ask anyone to do what I'm not able to do myself."
  52. [2013-01-02 13:49:44] * CopyCat gets to her hooves and nods at Kid. "I felt them, yes. But I..." she watches as another friend vanishes. "I don't want to go alone."
  53. [2013-01-02 13:50:45] * Bookwright girds himself and walks up to the event horizon. Looking over his shoulder, "You don't have to follow. I won't ask you to walk into danger. But I'm going." And with that, he steps forward and through.
  54. [2013-01-02 13:50:50] * Kid shakes her head and pulls out her shotgun, looking out into the expanse and feeling the fur on her withers rise up on end. "... Wouldn't take too much pride in th' stuff yer family did, Get." Said the pot to the kettle. With a sharp inhalation, she starts kicking back some of the snow in on the ground. "C'mon. Yer flyin' if this winds up droppin' me off a fuckin' cliff." And with that, she...
  55. [2013-01-02 13:50:52] * Kid ...waited for her to go before charging in like a screaming hellion.
  56. [2013-01-02 13:50:58] <Kkat> 3Get_Lost trots forward at a brisk pace, and vanishes.
  57. [2013-01-02 13:52:25] * Mitzi looks at the sound of Kid's screaming, perplexed
  58. [2013-01-02 13:52:56] <Kkat> 3(Mitzi can't hear Kid's screaming.)
  59. [2013-01-02 13:53:02] * Mitzi does nothing then
  60. [2013-01-02 13:54:02] * CopyCat takes up position beside Kid, looking over and mimicking the way she kicked the snow. "Th-thank you."
  61. [2013-01-02 13:54:06] * Get_Lost disappears trotting into the unknown... that's not even the first time for her family
  62. [2013-01-02 13:54:14] <Kkat> 3Bookwright follows after Get_Lost and vanishes in the same place as the mare.
  63. [2013-01-02 13:57:03] * Kid screeches boldly into action, giving a battle charge and leaping into the scary horrible barrier.
  64. [2013-01-02 13:57:39] * CopyCat runs in right alongside her.
  65. [2013-01-02 13:59:55] <Kkat> 3Suddenly, Mitzi hears Kid's screaming as she and CopyCat burst into the pale sunlight beside their friends.
  66. [2013-01-02 14:00:25] * Mitzi looks down to Kid; "Why you screemeen? Eet's nice hurr."
  67. [2013-01-02 14:02:48] * Get_Lost takes a look around... after opening the eyes, because you can say you are excited even when you are scared and won't admit it
  68. [2013-01-02 14:04:26] * Shatara looks around
  69. [2013-01-02 14:04:27] * Bookwright looks around taking stock of his surroundings.
  70. [2013-01-02 14:04:49] <Kkat> 3The sky is blue. The grass is patchy and full of weeds. The caravaners stand between the broken pillars of purple crystal that once formed a gate. Beyond them, stretching to the horizon, is ruins and rubble.... dominated by a grand central tower of cracked, war-scorched crystal.
  71. [2013-01-02 14:05:05] * CopyCat screeches clumsily to a halt and looks at Mitzi, Shatara and Noble Heart with tears in her eyes. "You vanished... I... I thought we'd lost you," she stammers.
  72. [2013-01-02 14:05:59] * Get_Lost frowns "the goods: we are still alive... the bads: war seems to have hit even this place. but hey, at least there is no pink agent, right?"
  73. [2013-01-02 14:06:10] * Kid stops her screaming as she realized that her friends were there and alright. She seems to be shuddering with anger. She would be happy that they were alive, but there was far too much adrenaline in her system to ever admit that. "... Mitzi, Shatara, Noble?" She said between grit teeth.
  74. [2013-01-02 14:06:34] <Kkat> 3Static frizzes their tails, a field of energy pulsing between odd pylons a few feet behind them.
  75. [2013-01-02 14:07:55] <Kkat> 3The arcanotech pylons march off in each direction, like fence posts in an invisible wall that slowly arcs inward.
  76. [2013-01-02 14:08:15] * Get_Lost the mare takes a glance at her companions to make sure they are all still there, safe and sound, then trots another half dozen meters away from the sparkling gate
  77. [2013-01-02 14:08:34] * Mitzi nods; "We're fine. Eet's really nice een hurr." She points to the pylons; "Magic tings make eet nice Uh tink."
  78. [2013-01-02 14:08:38] * Bookwright "Shatara, would you kindly check your map and see how far we've moved?"
  79. [2013-01-02 14:09:33] * Kid gets closer, eye still tearing up with relief and emotions not quite known to the filly...
  80. [2013-01-02 14:10:01] * Kid ... and then she lets loose and smacks the living hell out of the three of them.
  81. [2013-01-02 14:10:32] * Shatara smiles nervously towards CopyCat, before blinking and scratching his head at Bookwright's request. Perching on his haunches, he pokes at his pipbuck. "Err, lemme see..."
  82. [2013-01-02 14:11:46] * Kid huffs angrily. "You three! What th' flyin' fliptastic fuck were ya'll thinkin'?"
  83. [2013-01-02 14:12:35] * Bookwright stares at Kid, and then very pointedly turns the other cheek.
  84. [2013-01-02 14:13:01] <Kkat> 3A booming voice, male and slightly metallic, booms across the sky boomingly. "SURRENDER NOW! YOU CANNOT HOPE TO DEFEAT ME AND MY ARMY OF CRYSTAL BATTLE EWES!!"
  85. [2013-01-02 14:13:53] * Mitzi picks up Kid with one paw, not understanding why she was being hit; "Why yu mad at us? We okay." She looks up at the sound of the booming voice; "Uh... not like da sound uv dat."
  86. [2013-01-02 14:14:57] * CopyCat flattens her ears. "Me neither."
  87. [2013-01-02 14:15:50] * Bookwright is nonplussed by the threat.
  88. [2013-01-02 14:16:07] * Shatara acks and and falls over. "Thinking? I was thinking we're almost there then suddenly shiny blue skies!" He squawks at the booming voice, looks up and blinks. "Battle....ewes?"
  89. [2013-01-02 14:16:11] * Kid glares at the sky. "You shuddup! Ah ain't done yellin' at these folks yet!" She looks back at those three. "Now, do ya'll have /any/ idea what th' hell coulda happened? That fuckin' barrier coulda reduced ya'll t' nothin' but ashes, and there'd be nothin' we could'a done t' put ya'll back together!"
  90. [2013-01-02 14:16:30] * Get_Lost stares up, frowning "ah... i'm okay with surrender, but why can't we be friends? i mean, we just arrived, we were jhoping for a guide, a tour, maybe a snack and buying a couple of souvenirs? yes?"
  91. [2013-01-02 14:17:27] * Get_Lost "and i'd really love to take a look at those cybernetics, i'm trying to learn some of that stuff myself, these days..."
  92. [2013-01-02 14:18:30] * Bookwright raises his voice and calls out, "At the risk of sounding cliché, we come in peace."
  93. [2013-01-02 14:19:24] <Kkat> 3Curly white clouds float in the blue sky.
  94. [2013-01-02 14:19:58] * Kid clenched her teeth. "It could'a been an' Enclave shield that zaps ponies! You ever think'a..." It only now registered in her head that there was a booming skyvoice that probably wasn't a pegasus, or maybe was one, and that should really scare the hell out of her. "... Where th' hell are we?" She said, looking around. Crystals. Crystals everywhere.
  95. [2013-01-02 14:20:36] <Kkat> 3One by one, most of the caravan companions begin to notice movement amongst the rubble and ruined buildings.
  96. [2013-01-02 14:21:38] * Get_Lost waves at one of the figures moving, one of the nearest "hey! we're here! this way!"
  97. [2013-01-02 14:22:04] * Mitzi keeps her rifle out but lowered
  98. [2013-01-02 14:22:23] * Shatara makes sure to give Get_Lost a love tap with his butstock as he readies his rifle.
  99. [2013-01-02 14:22:54] * CopyCat lifts off a little from the ground, trying to get a better look. "Oh, are there locals?"
  100. [2013-01-02 14:23:27] * Get_Lost "i hope they are the cypersheeps... i onder if they dream of robot electrical grass..."
  101. [2013-01-02 14:25:42] * Shatara perhaps a bit redundantly announces the readings from his pipbuck. "Well, we're here, in any case...'Crystal Empire: South Gate'..."
  102. [2013-01-02 14:26:20] * CopyCat looks down at Get_Lost. "And what do they count when they are sleepy?"
  103. [2013-01-02 14:26:40] * Kid blinks and then starts hyperventilating as the cap figures started counting themselves simply on the architecture of this place. Hell, when you can afford to build your city out of jewelry... Her head arrived at a number and it was enough to completely shunt out the anger she had before. "... We're gonna be fuckin' rich!"
  104. [2013-01-02 14:27:59] * Bookwright "Get Lost, that assumes that androids dream of these electric ewes."
  105. [2013-01-02 14:28:30] * Mitzi finally stops for a moment to take in the actual geography surrounding them. She literally salivates and nods at Kid's words
  106. [2013-01-02 14:29:33] * Get_Lost "the only way to know is building a ponydrooid, and it's actually on my to-do list... for now i'd be happy just making friends with one of these sheeps... and CopyCat, i guess they count... ah... jumps?"
  107. [2013-01-02 14:30:20] * Kid coughs into her hoof, trying to regain /some/ composure. "Right then. Suggestin' that that voice prolly has a bead on us b' now, I suggest t' ya'll that we start headin' up t' th' big fuck-off tower."
  108. [2013-01-02 14:31:02] * Get_Lost since everypony is acting normal, the mare assumes that there is no real danger, so it's friends-making time, and she trots merrily towards the nearest of the figures she spotted among the crystrals "hello there, i'm Get Lost and these are my friends!"
  109. [2013-01-02 14:31:25] <Kkat> 3Another voice, more feminine, booms across the sky. "ATTENTION: HEARTLESS. PLEASE DO NOT APPROACH THE PYLONS. THE PYLONS MEAN DEATH. PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS THE PYLONS. THEY WILL KILL YOU. PLEASE DO NOT STARE AT THE PYLONS. PLEASE DO NOT TAUNT OR PROVOKE THE PYLONS. IF YOU SEE A TOPPLED PYLON, BACK AWAY SLOWLY AND VACATE THE AREA."
  110. [2013-01-02 14:32:54] * Shatara grabs Get_Lost's tail with his offhand still holding his rifle at low ready. "First battle-ewes, now deadly pylons?"
  111. [2013-01-02 14:34:35] * Bookwright A curious look crosses Bookwright's face. He frowns quizzically. "Folks, I think we should get moving."
  112. [2013-01-02 14:35:08] * Mitzi is looking a little bit greedily at the nearest crystal formation. If there was one thing hounds valued as much as strength it was gems.
  113. [2013-01-02 14:35:18] * Get_Lost is stopped abruptly, pouts but doesn't protest "oh well, i didn't have a workbench anyway... let's go to the tower then, i guess?"
  114. [2013-01-02 14:37:26] * Bookwright nods, not looking away from the tower, "Yes, let's. The back of my neck is starting to itch. I have no idea what's going on around here, and standing around making jokes isn't going to solve it. Besides, these ponies might know something about the reeducation camp that used to be here."
  115. [2013-01-02 14:37:39] * Kid starts to lead the way towards the tower. "Better goin' there than anythin', right?"
  116. [2013-01-02 14:38:15] * Shatara keeps watch of the area, paying particular attention to any blips on his EFS.
  117. [2013-01-02 14:38:39] * Mitzi follows along slowly; the scenery really was tantalizing to her.
  118. [2013-01-02 14:39:42] * Bookwright begins trotting forward, keeping the movement he spotted in the corner of his eye.
  119. [2013-01-02 14:39:43] * Get_Lost tries staying in the middle of the group, this place seems quiet, but the booming voices usually go in pair with megalomaniac minds and crazy scientists and... well... "i don't know why, but i feel kinda at home..."
  120. [2013-01-02 14:42:17] * CopyCat slinks along with the group, casting furtive glances up at the sky and its booming voices.
  121. [2013-01-02 14:42:31] * Kid rose her only eyebrow at Get_Lost. Fucking weirdo. How can anypony feel at home at a place so... What's the word? It isn't gaudy, the crystals were flashy, but not out of place here. This place must've been pretty in it's day. Now Equestria's most beautiful ruin, she reckoned. No, it's more intimidating, really. That might just be because she's a rural girl, but that's just her.
  122. [2013-01-02 14:45:44] * Mitzi is still drooling
  123. [2013-01-02 14:47:43] * Get_Lost stops for a moment "please, give me a second, i'm totally going to faint if i keep this winter outfit on another five minutes.. "the mare stops to take off the damn winter thing before she burns""
  124. [2013-01-02 14:51:16] * Kid sniffles, taking the coat hoof off of her head and placing her straw hat where it belonged. "Ah cn' wait." It felt good to have old reliable on her head again, though. She began to let her mind wander a little, mostly to get those emotions on out of her head. They felt... Uncomfortable. "Hey, so. Does anypo- Ah mean, anyone else kinda get the creeps from lookin' at tall buildin's?"
  125. [2013-01-02 14:51:33] <Kkat> 3From the rubble charge three crystaline ponies in badly-maintained armor forged mostly from pits of debris. From the cruel expressions on their faces, you doubt they are coming to swap pleasantries.
  126. [2013-01-02 14:52:42] * Get_Lost "so.." the mare forgets what she was saying, staring at the ponies "ah... please don't start a meaningless blood bath?"
  127. [2013-01-02 14:53:19] <Kkat> 3Shatara's EFS tags them in hostile red... and then the lights waver and blink out, only to reappear again.
  128. [2013-01-02 14:54:52] * Shatara blushes and looks away from Get_Lost as she works her way out of her garments, when OH HEY HOSTILES. He almost seems to relax as he hefts his rifle, only to blink in confusion as his EFS seems to have trouble tracking the strangers.
  129. [2013-01-02 14:55:24] * CopyCat eeps and casts a spell as she spots the chargers, before trying to sense whether there was any chance for a peaceful solution.
  130. [2013-01-02 14:55:38] * Kid inhales sharply. Every Luna-damned time she feels like letting her mind wander and tries talking to ponies like a civilized host, ponies come along and ruin her train of thought. Every. Time. "Fer fuck's- GET YER GUNS, WE'RE LEAVIN'!"
  131. [2013-01-02 14:59:29] * Get_Lost her smile deflatesa bit "why are they using solaris weaponry? no... not again, please..."
  132. [2013-01-02 15:04:15] * Bookwright groans, "I was hoping to have finished my new weapon before facing combat again... Oh well." He draws his magical energy pistol and checks its charge, ensuring it is ready.
  133. [2013-01-02 15:08:14] * CopyCat raises her shield and takes one shot at the nearest crystal pony, frightened by the hositility that rolled off it in waves.
  134. [2013-01-02 15:08:39] * Kid does an acrobatic flip to get her shotgun from the holster on her back, then starts trying to make sure these two get the message that, no, you can't wave those weapons at her and get away with it without internal bleeding involved.
  135. [2013-01-02 15:29:33] <Kkat> 3CopyCat's shield shimmers into place as she fires at one of the attacking crystaline ponies, the shot penetrating armor and digging into her side. Kid tears at the pinkish central one, the shell ripping at the pony's armor and doing horrible damage to its oddly semi-transparent body.
  136. [2013-01-02 15:31:51] * Bookwright 's horn glows brighter, and his pistol suddenly engorges with magic.
  137. [2013-01-02 15:33:21] * Get_Lost stares at the weird ponies, fascinated and horrified at the same time
  138. [2013-01-02 15:34:05] * Bookwright selects the same target that Kid just fired upon and his pistol fires off a shot.
  139. [2013-01-02 15:42:08] <Kkat> 3Bookwright's shot hits the pony's crystaline hide, the magic rippling through the pony's insides. The pink pony stumbles, but does not yet fall.

[2013-01-02 15:42:15] * Mitzi isn't too sure about using a magical energy weapon on something that looked to be made of crystal, so she drops her rifle and rushes the unharmed Crystal Pony, claws bared and her trio of dogs hot on her heels. She slams into the pony and attempts to tear it apart with her claws.
  141. [2013-01-02 15:43:07] <Kkat> 3This time, the pony does cry out in... it's not really clear if it is pain or rage. Most likely a mixture of the two.
  142. [2013-01-02 15:54:13] <Kkat> 3Mitzi and her mongrels savagely attack the green crystaline pony, tearing into her, nearly felling her. But their efforts fall seemingly just short of taking her down.
  143. [2013-01-02 15:55:59] * Get_Lost the mare tries to hide behind her companions and readies a potion or two, in case of emergency
  144. [2013-01-02 16:02:33] * Get_Lost looking at the crystal ponies, the mare frowns "i think these are those heartless we heard of before..."
  145. [2013-01-02 16:04:29] * Get_Lost and adds "they seem to have gone crazy somehow... i'm not sure though.. they react to pain, but not in the right way... they seem almost rabid.."
  146. [2013-01-02 16:05:31] * Shatara 's time slows as he activates SATS, taking advantage of the delay to size up the ponies, picking out the least wounded and pumping two .308 into.
  147. [2013-01-02 16:07:33] <Kkat> 3Shatara slips into S.A.T.S., takes aim and pulls the trigger. The sound is like the sound of a rifle jamming.
  148. [2013-01-02 16:12:13] <Kkat> 3"I want the chicken thing!" The bluish pony calls out in a strangely even voice. It is the first thing any of them have said. "I want its feathers for my pillow!"
  149. [2013-01-02 16:21:23] * Shatara curses as his firing pin lands with a disturbing 'click', letting the rifle drop on its sling as he expertly draws his 9mm from its chest-holster, slipping into a two-clawed grip and doubletapping his target

  152. [2013-01-02 16:34:31] <Kkat> 3The bluish heartless charges, closing the distance and leaping at the griffin, cocking back the hoof adorned with Solaris weaponry...
  153. [2013-01-02 16:40:20] <Kkat> 3Meanwhile, the greenish heartless hammers at the hellhound like her life depended on it, a terrified gleam in her eyes.

  155. [2013-01-02 16:44:39] * Mitzi is relatively unphazed, but annoyed; "Uh'll smash yu, den have fancy beating tings."
  156. [2013-01-02 16:46:32] <Kkat> 3Each of the heartless lands their blows. But only the one that Mitzi closed into melee with has the opportunity to attack twice, the others having had to close with their opponents.
  157. [2013-01-02 16:52:19] * Kid felt the wind get knocked out of her. She felt like she got hit by a wagon, but without the pleasantry of someone saying sorry and the possibility of rooting out a fiscal apology. She gritted her teeth, reloaded, and pumped out another pair of shotgun blasts.
  158. [2013-01-02 17:02:32] * Noble_Heart did not look pleased with the state of her companions. A purple glow surrounded the golf club hanging from her bags as she levitated it, brandished almost like a sword and aimed towards the angry pony trying to kill Shatara. "We shall not allow your attacks to go unanswered. Face Our weapon, fiend!" In a flurry of motion trailing purple light the 9 iron lashed out,
  159. [2013-01-02 17:02:33] * Noble_Heart demonstrating where exactly it had gained those bloodstains.
  160. [2013-01-02 17:09:09] <Kkat> 3Kid's shots echo across the ruins as the pink crystaline pony shatters, collapsing.
  161. [2013-01-02 17:10:09] * CopyCat can still only sense anger and aggression from the crystal ponies so she reluctantly joins Noble and aims towards the blue one attacking Shatara, firing three shots.
  162. [2013-01-02 17:11:19] * Kid blinky-blinks. Ponies don't shatter, they just kind of become dead weight and flop down on the ground bleeding. What the hell are these if they aren't ponies?
  163. [2013-01-02 17:18:32] <Kkat> 3CopyCat fires thrice, each time a solid hit. The bluish heartless' armor and crystaline coat seem to absorb much of the damage, but the shots still stagger him.
  164. [2013-01-02 17:21:42] * Bookwright 's magical energy pistol seems to float and fire easier than it should be able to, but that must be a trick of the light. He aims it at the blueish crystal pony, and bright steamers of energy lash out at it.
  165. [2013-01-02 17:29:06] <Kkat> 3Bookwright's animated laser fires four beams of light at the bluish crystal pony. The first two shots refract through the pony harmlessly, as does the last. But the third shot disperses its energy through the heartless, causing damage.
  166. [2013-01-02 17:32:52] * Noble_Heart frowned at the state of affairs with these crystal ponies. She was not about to allow them to continue their assault! "Though Our heart is heavy slaying any pony, you do not deserve that title!" She mashes on the pony who had been attacking Shatara again.
  167. [2013-01-02 17:35:27] <Kkat> 3Noble_Heart's rain of blows drives the heartless to his knees, then cracks him across the head, taking his life and shattering his corpse.
  168. [2013-01-02 17:38:13] * Shatara growls as he beats his wings for altitude, working his rifle's action to clear the misfire and taking aim at the remaining crystaline equine.
  169. [2013-01-02 17:41:44] <Kkat> 3After having had so much trouble in the early part of the fight, Shatara once again pulls through to fire the shot the fells the final foe.
  170. [2013-01-02 17:42:14] <Kkat> 3The crystal pony topples away from Mitzi and her dogs, shattering as she hits the ground.
  171. [2013-01-02 17:43:22] <Kkat> 3The idyllic landscape of crystal ruins falls silent once more.
  172. [2013-01-02 17:45:16] * CopyCat flutters to the ground, her heart racing. "We... we did it!"
  173. [2013-01-02 17:46:22] * Shatara grumbles as he glides to the ground, digging out his toolkit and his pistol.
  174. [2013-01-02 17:47:26] * Bookwright releases his hold on his magic, and suddenly his pistol is just a pistol. He holsters it, frowning, "Well. That was unexpected. I suppose it makes sense that laser light can refract through these transluscent ponies, but still... Hm. Do you think these were the 'Heartless' that lady on the oversized PA was going on about? This warrants more research."
  175. [2013-01-02 17:48:59] * Kid looks around and starts heading towards the tower, nice and properly paranoid again. "We can settle that later, right now, we need t' hole up somewhere, an' that big tower o'er there looks like it's gonna have th' best loot!" She paused and looked back. "Grab th' hoof things! We'll sell 'em later!"
  176. [2013-01-02 17:50:45] * CopyCat turns to Bookright. " 'Heartless' may be right. I couldn't sense anything from one of them and from the other two all I could feel was rage."
  177. [2013-01-02 17:52:42] * Bookwright moves to each shattered corpse, giving each a quick shufti in turn.
  178. [2013-01-02 18:00:26] * Bookwright gathers bits, bobs, pieces, chunks, and comes up with a bundle of components that look useful, and then stuffs it into one of his saddlebags.
  179. [2013-01-02 18:01:15] * Noble_Heart snorts, stomping a forehoof as she replaces her 9-iron in its sheath. "We should find a more appropriate weapon. We would imagine that We look rather absurd, and perhaps a touch insane, with Our current armament."
  180. [2013-01-02 18:02:05] * Bookwright looks up, "Right. If anypony wants one of those power hoof knockoffs, grab one and let's go. My ears are starting to itch, I don't think we're unobserved here."
  181. [2013-01-02 18:02:50] * CopyCat scuffs the ground with a hoof. "I think you look quite inspiring, Noble. Although maybe something else would suit you better."
  182. [2013-01-02 18:03:20] * Kid nods. "Alright. Let's go, c'mon. Th' longer we stay here, th' more likely more shit's gonna come down on our heads." She stifles a snicker at Noble. "Don' underestimate th' potential of lookin' fuckin' nuts. Ya'll get out of more fights that way, at least."
  183. [2013-01-02 18:06:55] <Kkat> 3As if in answer to Bookwright's worry, the feminine voice thunders across the sky: "INTRUDERS TO THE CRYSTAL EMPIRE! SURRENDER NOW OR FACE DESTRUCTION! DO NOT BE AFRAID! I, DOCTOR AMORE, LOVE YOU! IGNORE THE GENOCIDAL ROBOTS AND ROVING BAND OF PSYCHOPATHIC PONIES! ALL IS WELL!"
  184. [2013-01-02 18:07:33] * CopyCat sighs. "Well that's a relief."
  185. [2013-01-02 18:07:56] * Kid sneers. "Aint it, though?"

  187. [2013-01-02 18:09:12] * Shatara snickers softly as he tunes his stoopid pistol. What good is a backup that fails too?
  188. [2013-01-02 18:10:09] * Bookwright is caught off guard, and flattens his ears in fright instinctively. Recovering, "Okay... So these 'Heartless are definitely psychopathic... That means that the 'genocidal robots' are the 'crystal battle ewes' we heard about earlier. Great."
