  1. Yaffy's Quick and Easy guide to port forwarding
  2.
  3. NOTE: If any of these options do not work, you're best off checking out www.portforward.com instead. You also need to have control of your router, don’t bother with public routers. Also keep in mind that if someone might have changed the settings on your router, you’ll need to ask them.
  4.
  5. 1.Open up a web browser and try going to these addresses:
  6. http://192.168.1.0 http://192.168.1.1 http://192.168.0.1 http://192.168.0.0
  7. One should bring you to a router log in page, while the other three will go nowhere.
  8.
  9. 2.You’ll need to log into your router. These are the most common user names and passwords. If none of these work, your password may have changed or it may have an odd login, in which case you will need to use portforward.com's guide. Do not include quotes in any of these.
  10. Possible usernames: “admin” “administrator” “user”
  11. Possible passwords: “admin” “administrator” “pass” “password” “user” or leave it blank.
  12.
  13. 3.Once you log in, you’ll be looking for a page similar to this:
  14. http://www.rhinosoft.com/kbase/kbimages/KB1289-SU-Linksys2.jpg
  15. It will most likely look somewhat different. Search in places labeled with “Advanced settings”, “Virtual servers” and “Forwarding.
  16.
  17. 4.For the “External port”, you want to type in 10800, as that’s the default for Touhou 12.3. For some routers, it may not work unless if you put in a range, in which case, feel free to open as many as you want. Try to keep 10800 in the range though. (eg. 10000-11000).
  18.
  19. 5.Check or select UDP. You can check TCP as well if you can pick both, but UDP is needed for Hisoutensoku.
  20.
  21. 6.If your router asks for an IP address, you need to put in your internal IP address (not your external IP!). Otherwise, you can skip this step. To find your internal IP address, go to the start menu and type “cmd” in search, then type in ipconfig. Scroll up and you should find it. (It will probably start with 192.168)
  22.
  23. 7.Lastly, be sure to check off any “enable” box and press the add/confirm/apply button! Your router may reset when you do this, so your net may go down for a few seconds.
  24.
  25. 8. Everything should be working and you’ll be able to host Hisoutensoku on whatever port you opened! Your computer may require a restart if it doesn't. Also make sure that the other player can actually play as well!
  26.
  27. Hopefully this guide helped a lot. I remember spending almost a week trying to port forward for the first time, and hope this spares you the trouble of going through that yourself. Keep in mind that this guide doesn't only work for Hisoutensoku, but also other games as well! If you have any problems, you can message me at yaffyfan@gmail.com. If it’s a problem with the forwarding page, please send screenshots as well.
