Did you see it, Jackdaw?

It was beautiful. I could see it clear as day, in my mind’s eye. In the dreams. It was like stepping into the Faewild, but also like when I went through your between. It was a world full of life and thrumming with primal magic, but it was filled to the brim with spirits. Enchanted, and blessed for all its dangers. The moon shone down five times larger than it is for real.

I was there, and Reva was there. Anya was there. Aidan was there. He could walk. There were others that I don’t know, too. I’ve seen them before, I know I have. In the other dreams. That’s how I know this was a vision. We stood on an island of silver and magic and before us stood a crow the size of a house, with four legs, four wings and four eyes, lightning blue. His chest feathers shimmered blue like a gem, and his wingbeats sounded like a thunderstorm.

I was afraid. We were afraid. We thought we had done something terrible.

But he cawed, he laughed. He told us we had done well. He told us that our road twisted like a black labyrinth, that we would need as much help as we could get. That he had brought us… a friend, in our time of need. Around him came a bat, silvery and fast. She was weak, and wounded, a shattered spirit held fast by an ancient and terrible evil. I pledged to her, whatever it took, I would help her. I would free her from the binds that held her.

She looked at my sister as one of her own children, breathed the light of a spirit into her. And in that moment, my twin became radiant, like a spirit in her own right. I was awestruck. It felt in that moment like I was watching her attain everything I’ve ever wanted to see her achieve. It was such a far cry from the others. She wasn’t suffering. I didn’t have to see her in pain. She was overjoyed.

It’s so rare I wake up from these feeling like my heart is soaring. It’s such a wonderful feeling. I was hoping you might have seen it too, so I could share this feeling.
