  1. #yyg-chat is a public IRC channel hosted on the SlashNET IRC network for members of the YoYo Games community. As it is public, not everyone who participates in the channl will be an active member of the YoYo Games community, nor do they have to be - in fact, we welcome anyone to the channel as long as they follow the rules and bring guns for the annual duck hunt.
  2.
  3. You are advised to follow the rules below. Channel operator (moderator) discretion will be used when enforcing the rules, and breaking them will result in a kick and/or ban from the channel depending on the circumstances.
  4.
  5. > Rule 1: Do not spam
  6. --------- Flooding the channel with irrelevant, idiotic, and/or stupid, nonsensical statements/links is not allowed. This doesn't mean that you can't post random things, but just don't be annoying about it.
  7.
  8. > Rule 2: Do not flame
  9. --------- Attacking another person in the channel is not allowed. Light-hearted name calling is acceptable as long as the person you're doing it to doesn't mind, but if they are annoyed by it, you should stop to prevent yourself from being a jerk. This rule could be taken in one way: don't be a jerk. Simple enough, isn't it?
  10.
  11. > Rule 3: Do not post offensive content
  12. --------- Linking to or posting offensive content is not allowed. Unfortunately, what is offensive to one person may not be offensive to others, and therefore it's up to operator (moderator) discretion to ultimately decide on what is to be considered offensive. Some discussions can be considered offensive, but it is up to the operator's discretion to decide on what is offensive.
  13.
  14. List of things definitely not tolerated (you will be kicked/banned for posting such content): gore, pornography, and/or shock sites.
  15.
  16. > Rule 4: Do not post illegal content
  17. --------- Promoting use of or linking to anything illegal is not allowed. This includes child pornography, software cracks (and piracy in general,) and some other illegal things.
  18.
  19. > Rule 5: Be mature
  20. --------- We encourage you to be mature. If you cannot be mature and act your age (or older than your age if you're somewhat young,) you probably won't get positive responses from your fellow chat-goers. This pretty much means that you shouldn't be overly childish and/or annoying.
  21.
  22. --------------------
  23.
  24. On Not Safe For Work (NSFW) Content:
  25.
  26. If you choose to post something which is NSFW, please post it along side of a statement saying it is NSFW. This allows others to know that it's potentially offensive content and to click at their own discretion. Failure to acknowledge your content is NSFW may result in a kick or ban depending on the circumstances.
  27.
  28. Content that is listed not tolerated under rule 3 is still not allowed even if it is labelled as NSFW.
