- Hello, This is from rather a long time ago, and I had thought
- something went through internally. But, it appears that everything
- below is still unresolved. Please follow up. Thanks!

- Hi Patch and Rod,
- While I appreciate the "goodwill," there are still several issues at
- large here.
- First of all, would you mind identifying the new Director of Marketing
- or equivalent successor to Amanda Van Nuys? The billing and support
- system issues aside, I find it very disconcerting that communication
- with a Linden Lab professional can be so suddenly disregarded with no
- identifiable cause. The discontinuity is simply alarming -- Amanda was
- trying to work something out with regards to the LEA and tier amnesty,
- and then, suddenly, she's terminated, and there is apparently no one
- to relay what happened to her work or communication.
- Secondly, throughout this debacle, I did not mean to disrespect the
- work of the support staff, or that of yourself. However, other than
- Amanda, there were several other Linden Lab employees telling me to
- disregard Support/Billing, especially the automated systems, as
- supposedly there was something in the lines of "tier amnesty" in the
- works. I assumed that Amanda had updated all Linden Lab employees
- involved when her communication started earlier this month. However,
- it was not until Charlene's email last week that I found out
- otherwise.
- There appears to be nontrivial communication issues among Linden Lab
- employees. It is difficult for a third party to make sense of all the
- conflicting communication from different Linden Lab employees. Rod:
- This is really something that needs to be ameliorated at all levels.
- When Amanda started working on the tier amnesty/LEA project, support
- and other employees at Linden Lab really should have been notified of
- that. It shows either disorganization or dissent in the organization
- -- that the customer has to be the one forwarding email's from LL
- executives to update other LL employee's.
- Lastly, the gesture referred to as "goodwill" is typically taken as
- time reimbursed via the SLA of comparably priced dedicated server
- companies. It's typically 1 day of downtime =3D 1 month of extended
- service "on the house." There are even some services, where it's 1
- hour of downtime =3D 1 month of extended service. I do appreciate the
- gesture, but the sims were down over a week, and this came abruptly -
- especially after Amanda Van Nuy's communication.
- This bring me back to the first issue, which, to me, is the mystery of
- Amanda Van Nuy's sudden disappearance. The last I knew, she was trying
- to help the 4 Sim SL Globe Theatre / Shakespeare efforts. Running on a
- grassroots "common man's" version of a nonprofit, the endeavor is
- entirely sponsored through microdonations from numerous patrons. As
- such, all major affairs are publicly announced to maintain
- transparency.
- At this point, if it is not possible to continue from where Amanda
- left off, I can only assume the worst -- that Amanda Van Nuys lost her
- job for trying to save Shakespeare.=A0For this, the very least she
- deserves is some recognition within our group of over 50,000 active
- subscribers.
- I really do hope that that is not the case. It is simply not good for
- the morale of any parties involved that someone could get fired for
- trying to save Shakespeare. But, I just can't see any other reason for
- what happened.
- I am really hoping that you can help here.
- Ina
