  78. Bio: A whiff of incense. Plumes of smoke rising softly into the air. Chants echoed upon stone archways and marble heights. These are Eneas' earliest and fondest memories.
  79.
  80. Born the third and youngest son of the Domini line, he had always had great things expected of him. His father, the gray-haired Lector Domini is the current High Inquisitor for the Sanctuary, a bloody, unrelenting job for an otherwise patient man. A paradox presented. For although Lector treats beast folk and men traitors with utmost disdain and hatred, Lector Domini loves his sons and spared them no expense in their magical education.
  81.
  82. For the oldest and most magically adept of his sons, Pancras, he bequeathed a tome of Holy Magic, the most powerful of the light magicks. To his second and craftiest son, Nestor, a book of Judgment would suffice, so that he may use his wisdom against his foes. To the youngest and most naïve and protective of the three, a book of Warding, so that he may learn to protect himself and others from the darkness that permeates this sinful world. Eneas was that son.
  83.
  84. Though his other brothers were born hale and hearty, Eneas was born a lesser creature. He grew short of breath with ease and was often ravaged by disease. In his early years, he relied heavily on his family for survival. His father, mother, and brothers cared deeply for him, and in turn Eneas learned to care for others. Inspired by the good works of his father towards him, he learned to pass on good works to others.
  85.
  86. However, soon after arriving upon his fifteenth birthday; the young Eneas saw a brutal sight in the conclaves of King Douglas' palace. His father, interrogating a creature of the likes that he had never seen before. Through a hole in the doorway, he could see and here the poor creature begging for mercy. A pitiful sight. His father turned and raised his staff. Suddenly, a light crashed against the walls and an unearthly howl filled the place. Realizing what had just happened, Eneas was sick to his stomach. A paradox revealed. His father had always taught him to love others and he had loved him, but if that were so, how could he have committed such an evil act?
  87.
  88. Eneas didn't have the heart to confront his father. In his heart, he knew what his father had done was wrong. But how could he attempt to put that to words? In a fit of passion, he struck out that very night, he leaving both the capital of the Sanctuary and his home for the first time. Why did his father hate these people so much? Doubt and confusion filled his heart. Eneas wasn't sure that he would like the answers that he would find.
  89.
  90. But perhaps the quest would be an answer in itself.
