  1. >You're in your living room with your bro Rainbow Dash.
  2. >Been passing the time drinking some Rum, and telling stories when Rainbro says, "Hey, anon, we’ve been friends for a while now right?"
  3. "Yeah, why?"
  4. >"Well, it's that I don't really know anything about you..."
  5. "What do you mean? You know more about me than everypony in Ponyville."
  6. >"Well, that's not what I mean... I want to know something a little bit deeper than that... I wanna know some of your secrets."
  7. "Dash... I think you've had too much rum."
  8. >"Aww, come on anon! It'll be fun!"
  9. >Letting out a sigh, you recall all the fun moments you've had with her.
  10. >All the small fights, and all the awkward moments...
  11. "Fine. I'll tell you the biggest secret I have."
  12. >"Really?!"
  13. "On the condition that you keep your word, and tell no one what I have said here."
  14. >She nods her head in agreement.
  15. >You clear your throat and start talking, "Well... Let’s see... I think it would be a good idea to start with... what happened before I arrived here..."
  16. >You pour some more rum into a glass.
  17. "Before... Before I arrived here, I was... I was on death row."
  18. >There's a small pause before Dash speaks up, "Death... row?"
  19. >Right, ponies don't have that system here.
  20. >You take a sip of your rum before you start explaining, "From where I come from, earth, there's a system for punishing criminals that have done crimes that are so bad, that they have been deemed unrepentable. I... I was one of them."
  21. >The silence lasts for a while.
  22. >"What'd you do?" she asks softly.
  23. >You down the rest of your rum, and reach for more.
  24. >Pouring some, you drink the glass and continue, "It was late December, about a week before Christmas... Err; Christmas is a holiday where you give gifts to friends and family members. It's like Harthswarming eve. "
  25. >She nods.
  26. "Anyway, during that week, I had gotten to work. As I walked into the complex, I ran into my boss. He told me I had 20 minutes to pack my things and get out. That I was being laid-off. I had planned using the check to help pay for my Ma's heart surgery... So you can guess what kind of mood I was in."
  27. >You drink more rum.
  28. "Well, I got my stuff, a left. I had to walk back to my apartment. I dropped off my laid in my bed."
  29. >"...What's this have to do with your crime...?"
  30. "A good part of it. Now, a few days later, it's Christmas Eve, the day before Christmas. I was sulking around a bar, like I had been ever since I got fired. It got pretty late, and I don't really remember what happened all that well. What I do remember is standing in front of my Ex-Bosses house, watching it burn, and listing to the screams inside."
  31. >She lets off a half heart laugh, probably trying to convince her self you're lying.
  32. >"You're... you're joking right?"
  33. "I really wish I was..."
  34. >Tears are at your eyes, "I wish I could take it all back, I wish that never happened..."
  35. >You reach for the rum, but RD swipes away your hand, "I... I think you've had enough..."
  36. >You look at her, and see something in her eyes...
  37. >It looks like fear, and... Sorrow?
  38. >"I... I don't know what to say..."
  39. "You don't have to say anything, just let me finish up."
  40. >She nods.
  41. "I stood there, waiting... I stayed there until the cops came, and tackled me to the ground. They said I was laughing with tears flowing down my checks... The trial was hard. I had sobered up, and like I said, had little memory of that night. I was scared witless, not knowing what was going on. It didn't help that my lawyer didn't seem to like me. The trial ended with me getting death by lethal injections...
  42. >"Wha-"
  43. "I don't want to explain that, so don't ask, it hurts bringing this up as is. I don't want to remember that... I will say this; as I was on the table, I was thinking of nothing... I heard the signal for the injections, and closed my eyes. Then... then I felt a gentle breeze. I opened my eyes, and saw a mane that looked like an aurora. It was flowing in the wind."
  44. >"Wait, that's not what you told us..."
  45. "I was told to say something else... She pointed me in the direction of Ponyville and told me to walk. I had millions of questions, but only asked one. Her name."
  46. "She replied with 'Celestia', and before I could ask anything else, she disappeared."
  47. >You look down, lost in your thoughts. You hadn't really thought much of that day, wanting to forget it."
  48. >You're pulled from your thoughts when you hear RD laughing.
  49. >Looking at her, you ask, "Something funny?"
  50. >"Now I know you're joking!"
  51. >You glare at her, "Dash, I already said I'm not."
  52. >"How can you NOT be joking? You just said that the Princess saved you!"
  53. "The... princess?"
  54. >"Really? You didn’t know that?"
  55. >You shake your head, "No."
  56. >"Dude, how long have you been here?"
  57. "About a year?"
  58. >"How have you NOT heard of her!?"
  59. >You shrug, "I don't know, nor do I really care."
  60. >She hoofs you in the shoulder, "Aww, come on man! Cheer up! How about we go out somewhere?"
  61. >Wiping the tears out of your eyes, you raise an eyebrow, "Excuse me, but... Did you just ask me out?"
  62. >Her face turns a shade of red, "I.. Uh... N..n.."
  63. >You cut her off, "I'd be happy to join you... Anything to get my mind off this..."
  64. >She smiles at you, and flies to the door.
  65. >"Meet me at the Claim Jumper ASAP then! I have to get something!"
  66. "Alright then."
  67. >You smile at her as she leaves.
  68. >You get up, and close the door.
  69. >Leaning ageist it, you slide to the ground, crying.
  70. >You held out some of the details, knowing it'd surely make her run.
  71. >You didn't tell her that you recalled seeing your boss and his kids running inside, burning...
  72. >Neglecting to tell her that you enjoyed the sight of watching the greedy bastard burn...
  73. >You stay on the ground, crying for a while.
  74. >After you get it out, you stand
  75. >You make your way to your room, and get your ties.
  76. >Binding them together, you tie one to the ceiling.
  77. >You put your head though the makeshift noose.
  78. "Sorry rainbow, but... I'm not going to be able to make it..."
  79. >Closing your eyes, you step off your stool.
  80. >This isn't what hanging should feel like...
  81. >It feels like you're bound to a table.
  82. >You open your eyes and see you're back in the room for your execution.
  83. >The time you spent in Equestria...
  84. >What was it all?
  85. >A dream?
  86. >Dreams don't feel that real.
  87. >You see the injections start.
  88. >You lie back, and accept your fate.
  89. >It was fun, Rainbow... If you even existed.
  90. >The final injection is pushed in, and your heart stops.
  91. >Your eyes close, and your breath stops.
  92. >Before you fully die, you hear familiar a voice call out, "ANON!"
  93. "r...rai...bow...."
  94. >Your final words. The name of the mare you loved. Even if it was some weird hallucination, you just regret that final choice you made.
  95. >But now, it’s too late, as blackness engulfs your vision, and death over takes you.
