  1. >Been here for 2 weeks
  2. >Not a single job, nothing I can do
  3. >Possibly the most peaceful place in the universe, no need for any military
  4. >Or so I thought
  5. >A lot of things happen in the background of every government, and this one is no different
  6. >Plenty of wars, plenty of conflicts, bloody history, all concealed under a fine cloak
  7. >Even now there's tension between some countries
  8. >Maybe I can have some work after all
  9. >It always starts small, just a few ponies I get to join
  10. >Unicorns are naturally smart considering their knowledge of magic, R&D team for sure
  11. >Pegisi can fly and offer many other techniques using flight
  12. >Earth ponies are all around diverse, farming, cooking, construction
  13. >But ponies weren't enough, if it was going to be anything like MSF back home, it needs more races
  14. >Gryphons, donkeys, minotuars, and even dragons
  15. >I've even been able to convince Changlings to join, the perfect men for intel team and stealth missions
  16. >It's starting to really pick up, everything is just like it was back home, nations putting aside their differences to work together
  17. >We've gathered intel, intervened in fights in the background, done everything we can
  18. >And we're starting to gain attention
  19. >I've been called to meet with Celestia face-to-face
  20.
  21. >"So, Big Boss, about this army."
  22. >"What about it?"
  23. >"Are you simply trying to promote war in Equestria?"
  24. >"I'm not promoting anything, we are a nation consisting of all creatures, we fight for whoever pays the most, we do not just pick sides."
  25. >"Do you really expect to build a new nation without anyone opposing you?"
  26. >"I never expected it last time."
  27. >"Yes you did mention building the same thing while on Earth."
  28. >"We are a nation without borders, we consist of many species, no racism, no hate, only peace, is this not the ideal nation?"
  29. >"It's simply not the same, a nation of soldier is not the same as a nation of civilians."
  30. >"As if we aren't already civilians, we go about our normal day like we still have lives."
  31. >"Boss, I'm afraid I must ask you to cease all projects with this nation."
  32. >"What?"
  33. >"Give up the base."
  34. >"And if I refuse?"
  35. >"Then I will have no choice but to declare war."
  36. >"War? You would declare war against a nation that choose no side, when you yourself promote peace?"
  37. >"If it is what must be done."
  38. >"You've changed over the years. All of the attacks against your kingdom have made you unstable, fearing anyone who is willing to build an army."
  39. >"This meeting is over Boss, leave or I will have the guards escort you out."
  40. >"I can see myself out."
  41. >Of all people, the princess crumbles? Worst part is, she's going to say that we were the ones who declared war first, making us look like the bad guys.
  42. >This day can't get any better can it?
  43. >"Maybe it can."
  44. >"Huh?"
  45. >"Do not be alarmed Big Boss."
  46. >"Luna?"
  47. >"You are correct in saying sister is unstable and afraid, but I myself have learned much and I wholeheartedly agree with you and your nation."
  48. >"Really?"
  49. >"And that is why I wish to join you, and aide in your fights."
  50. >"What?!"
  51. >"Of course this will be in secret, I can provide information ahem straight from the horses mouth, if you will."
  52. >"You're serious about this?"
  53. >"Entirely."
  54. >"Hmmm..... welcome aboard."
  55.
  56. >It's a simple matter of waiting to see what happens, or at least what the princess gets out of her sister
  57. >One thing I can hope for is that she never becomes suspicious
  58. >Whatever kind of attack she's planning, Luna can find out weeks in advance
  59. >No intel team could ever get that kind of information, already this might turn out better than expected
  60. >Celestia probably doesn't want too much publicity, a huge war would probably raise some eyebrows
  61. >MSF has never been in their own major war before, only small one time jobs in smaller conflicts
  62. >Declaring war against us, what is she trying to accomplish?
  63. >I've noticed large activity from her armies before, but what does it mean?
  64. >A special messenger dragon gives me the letter from the princess
  65. >This is no minor conflict, her sister really means to take us down and we have no choice but to fight
  66. >Do we even have a chance? This is the supreme being of this land
  67. >Except, if she's the supreme being, why is she still fighting wars? Why does he have opposition?
  68. >These aren't one time villains trying to take her place, these are actual nations, actual ponies who do not agree with her rule
  69. >This explains the large activity, but why? Why would they try to fight what's comparable to god?
  70. >I'll probably send the changlings to investigate more, find a motive for rebelling, maybe even recruit more members or even form alliances
  71. >A nation cannot support themselves alone, there needs to be more countries, other people, import, export goods
  72. >I've had plenty of time to think, but now I have to rest, Luna will probably contact me through dreams and find dates and times for each attack
  73. >Our days of peace here are coming to an end
  74.
  75. >I've scheduled meetings with a few of the other rulers, these rebels against Celestia.
  76. >When I step on the chariot, I'm stopped by one of the changeling recruits
  77. >He asks to be my double and leave me here so I'm not harmed
  78. >I equip him with a codec and he changes to me perfect image, I'll be able to hear his conversation and actually control what he says word for word, all he does is look like me and lip sync, which is far too easy even for civilians, this is a trained soldier
  79. >While he travels I'm left to do whatever, I use this time to go to battlefields an recruit more members, the more help we have the better
  80. >The entire base is coming together fine, shame it might be destroyed in this war
  81. >When I get back one I'm greeted by the messenger dragon
  82. >"I'm sorry I don't have time, I need to get ready for the meeting."
  83. >Perfect timing too, it's just started
  84. >The rebels have had serious trouble defending themselves from their attackers
  85. >A lot of their fights were influenced by us in their favor, so they're all grateful
  86. >All four of them have attended, they each have their own armies and towns far away from Canterlot and other famous cities
  87. >All in all, the meeting goes without a hitch and three of the four agree to help, the fourth doesn't seem that pleased
  88. >Soon I'm bombarded by the dragon again, urging me to read the letter
  89. >I amuse him and read
  90. >"Dear Big Boss, it is my sincerest apology that I will not be able to attend the meeting, I've been pinned down, and actually require your assistance, we can defend for hours but we're not going anywhere, don't keep us waiting."
  91.
  92.
  93. >Great that's another problem I have to deal with
  94. >Except....
  95. >He can't attend? But he's already there.
  96. >The sudden realization is more than enough to make my hair stand up, next I hear an incredibly loud gunshot through the codec
  97. >"Solider? What happened? Answer me! REPORT!"
  98. >Three more shots
  99. >They're all gone
  100. >"Listen Big Boss, your little friends aren't going to save you."
  101. >"Bastard."
  102. >"It's too bad I couldn't kill you instead, I'd have a much better pay for this job."
  103. >Damn, they knew everything
  104. >"I'll make sure to inform the rebel troops of how Big Boss killed their leaders in cold blood."
  105. >I can hear his foot steps as he leaves
  106. >All of them, dead, and I'm getting hit with the blame again
  107. >"It's ok Boss, you did your best."
  108. >"What? You're still alive? Listen, get out of there now! That's a direct order."
  109. >"Not sure if I can, but at least I was able to protect you from this
  110. >He's right, if I attended the meeting, I would have been shot along with the others
  111. >"Ponies die Boss, even your own, just go and find that last member, if he hasn't been killed already."
  112. >The C4 that was placed explodes, and the codec cut off.
  113. >Damn it, Celestia.
  114. >But that last member's still alive, the letter shows where they're located, that's our only chance.
