David - Encrypted disk images

Hi Alan and Kris!

I'm a relative new listener and user of FreeBSD but already a huge fan
of the community and of course all the software.
The podcast is amazing and the guests are always interesting to hear
from (even if the sound quality maybe could improve *hint hint*).

My question is about disk image files. I'm a frequent user of encrypted
Apple disk images (.dmg) for financial and legal documents, but now when
I transitioning to FreeBSD as my daily operating system what would be
more portable replacement as easy to use on FreeBSD (and hopefully also
on macOS)?
