Background (Sister, Crime, Orders, Battle Lust): Sister. My sister is a twelve-year old parapalegic. Though half-siblings by their father, he's always been close. It was unfortunate then that while he was on a tour of duty, a renegade (both in the genuine and literal sense) went on a rampage when the girl and her parents were on a shopping trip in an incident that left both mommy and daddy dead, and the sister paralyzed. He was forced to resign and return home to care for his sister, the stress awakening the virus within. Shortly after, he was approached by someone with the true nature of his family's attacker, and offered a chance to stop incidents like that in the future. Putting his military experience to work, he now works for (whoever), ever vigilant for the man responsible, as well as trying to save up money for an experimental augmentation therapy for his sister.

Let's say that our lug was actually nearby for the rampage then, on leave and coming to meet the family, have lunch out, something like that. Cue him dropping to his knees over the bodies of his parent and step-parent and his little sister weakly telling him how she couldn't feel her legs. Bad timing then that the renegade/gjaum came back and picked dude up by the throat and began toying with him. It wasn't until the renegade dared him to fight back that something stirred in his body, and he felt an overwhelming urge to assert his dominance over this piece of shit. The blade formed in his hand before he knew what he was doing, and he left a mark that would scar even his enemy's regenerative tissue, driving him off.
