This time around, she took a turn she'd never taken before, having her end up in the library. She looks a bit haggard, but otherwise pretty acceptable. She hasn't dressed herself up properly since the last mission- it's back to track pants and colourful shirts again. She looks around the libr

<Sax> Forrest looks up, a more natural smile on his face.
<Sax> "Come in for a relaxing read?"

<Cherry> Jill frowns. Forrest looks... oddly different. To Jill, it's a welcome change, however. She quietly responds, "No... just... lost." well, it's sort of true. She sits down opposite of Forrest. Her face is a bit red and puffy, perhaps from crying a while ago. Her hair is a mess, and she looks tired.
<Sax> "Jesus, you look like your dog died."
<Sax> Forrest does not cut corners or pull punches.
<Cherry> Jill gives Forrest a... sheepish smile. Wish it was just that. She thinks, stretching. She chooses to avoid the subject, however: "You look... different today."
<Sax> "Because I am relaxing."
<Sax> "And you're trying to dodge."
<Sax> "The face, your eyes... something's changed."
<Cherry> "Just had a bad day." she tries to match Forrest's smile, trying to come across as relaxed as possible. She certainly isn't lying- just severely understating the issue.
<Sax> "Did you get caught up in Lou's bullshit?"
<Sax> Forrest turns another page.

<Cherry> "Lou's... bullshit?" she asks. Is he... referring to the mission? Her forced smile has completely vanished in favour of an unpleasant frown.
<Sax> Forrest smiles. "I'm warm."
<Sax> "You went up against some nasty shit - I'm guessing you got the really short end of the stick."
<Cherry> Jill nods, softly. Her brow furrows, and her breathing starts getting out of control again as she thinks back. For one moment she... considers standing up and leaving, but... that probably won't help anything.
<Sax> "You aren't physically hurt or altered, so the damage must have been psychological."
<Sax> "What did the threat do to you?"

<Cherry> "..." she stares directly at Forrest. She's... trying to think of what happened, and how in she heck she should phrase it but... she can feel her tears welling up already. Jill shakes her head, softly, trying to fight back the tears.
<Sax> "You're going to have to face it again."
<Sax> "Let the pain out, so that it cannot control you."
<Cherry> Aaaand there the tears come. Would she... really have to face it again? Would she be forced to hurt someone she loved in the future? Regardless- Jill's started sobbing. She covers her face with her hands and quietly weeps as her mind wanders back to the surgery for the fifth time in the last two days.
<Sax> "You should be glad to have escaped with your life more or less intact."
* Kade has quit (Quit: Connection closed for inactivity)
<Sax> "Now, use your despair to fuel your rage, and to prepare."
<Sax> "What did happen to you?"
<Cherry> "...I..." she swallows, quietly "cut out... her t-tongue... e-ey-" she can't even finish half her sentence before her words turn into incomprehensible whines. She cries loudly, her sobs and wails echoeing through the library.
<Sax> "Forced to torture."
<Sax> "I am assuming the other involved was significant to you?"
<Cherry> She nods, weakly.
<Sax> "But you both lived, no?"
<Cherry> "........" Jill remains quiet. Jill's... not sure what to say. The person she cut up... She's... in containment now, she... hates her. She chose to forget. "S-She... hates m-me." she isn't capable of saying much more
<Sax> "But she lived."
<Sax> "You were in a difficult situation, faced against what is called an outside observer."
<Sax> "There was no way it would have ended well for you or for her - both of you surviving is enough of a reason to celebrate."
<Cherry> Jill isn't listening anymore. Instead she thinks back to the moment she shared with her- and how that's... never going to happen ever again.
<Sax> "Snap out of it."
<Sax> Forrest's voice assumed authority for a short second - unnatural for a man with ever a leery smile.
<Cherry> Jill... doesn't like that- she lashes out: "Shut up!" the chair behind her shoots back and falls down, "She fucking- she cared- cared how I had no one to turn to and then-" she stops yelling halfway through, she turns her back to Forrest for a moment, staring at the rows of books in front of her as she wipes her tears.
<Sax> Forrest is stonefaced - a remnant of his days as an NCO.
<Sax> ~Now I got a reaction~
<Sax> "And you were forced to maim the person who cared about you the most."
<Sax> "You were forced to play along with someone else's sick game."
<Sax> "You felt helpless, no?"
<Cherry> "..." she doesn't answer, but the increased frequency of sobs should do the talking for her.
<Sax> Forrest stands up, and walks around until he's facing Jill.
<Sax> "Do you wish you could have changed the outcome of that day?"
<Cherry> She nods, quietly. She takes a few steps backwards, away from Forrest.
<Sax> Forrest kneels down, forcing face-to-face conversation with you, Jill.
<Sax> "What happened has happened - nothing short of the end of reality will change that."

<Sax> "However, now you know what you're going up against."
<Sax> "That helpless feeling?"
<Sax> "Embrace it, remember it."
<Sax> "And swear to yourself that you will never find yourself in that place ever again."
<Sax> "Train. Study. Practice."
<Sax> "Prepare yourself for the day you will meet such a threat again."
<Sax> "Remember what it felt like to be helpless."
<Sax> "And resolve to never be helpless again."
<Cherry> Jill looks at Forrest. She's still sobbing. She... doesn't know how to respond, not in the slightest.

<Sax> "Lou said that your threat had a name."
<Sax> "Christopher, if I recall correctly."
<Sax> "There is a threat out there, that is loose, and that will continue to force that helplessness onto others."
<Sax> "Would you wish your suffering onto another person?"
<Cherry> "...." she... is unsure how to respond still. She leans against the table, uncomfortably.
<Sax> "I'm going to assume that you're a more-or-less regular human being."
<Sax> "Not a internally-dead piece of shit like me."
<Sax> "And I am going to assume that you wouldn't wish that kind of suffering on anyone."
<Cherry> Jill nods.

<Cherry> Jill shakes her head "I... don't..." she steps away from Forrest, she... doesn't want to be angry. She doesn't want to take anger-fueled revenge on someone.
<Sax> Forrest breaks out this ugly grin, Jill.
<Sax> "Then Christopher will come back."
<Sax> "And finish the job it started."
<Cherry> Jill shakes her head, her eyes widen at the thought. She turns around and runs, unsure of what to think or do. Her emotional conflict has... only worsened, sadly. She knows she has to do something about it but... she just can't.
<Sax> Forrest's natural smile returns, and he sits back down.
<Sax> Picks up his book.
