  1. Quick Walkthrough for those who don't know what the fuck about FF2, and for those who know FF2, but are unfamiliar with the changes:
  2. ===PART ONE===
  3. -Start game, you are your class with no gear and 3500g
  4. -Baron -> Mist Cave (Defeat Mist Dragon) -> Exit other side
  5. -Mist -> Kaipo -> Water Cave (Defeat Octomammoth) -> Exit other side
  6. -Damcyan (Collect Hovercraft from NPC) -> Antlion's Den (Defeat Antlion) -> Mt. Hobbs (Defeat Mom Bomb) -> Exit other side
  7. -Fabul (Speak to King for S.RoadEssence and PAY ATTENTION) -> Baron
  8. -Baron Town -> Mysidia (Enter unmarked building, use warp pad)
  9. -Mysidia -> Mount Ordeals (Defeat Milon/Scarmi) -> Return to Mysidia [Note: The Shrine here is now a bonus, end-game dungeon. You are going to die in here unless you are very strong and have a very strong party.]
  10. -Mysidia -> Royal Cave [Note2: You need to return to Mist Town and enter the cave that took you to Kaipo Desert. Now that Milon's dead, you may enter a previously-guarded path] (Defeat Baigan, and then Cagnazzo) -> Exit other side
  11. -Toroia -> North Chocobo Forest (Collect BlkChoco) -> Magnes Cave (Defeat Dark Elf) -> Tower of Zot (Defeat Magus Sisters, then Barbiriccia) -> Eblan Cave -> Tower of Babil (Defeat Rubicante) -> Exit other side
  12. ===PART TWO===
  13. -Welcome to the Underworld!
  14. -Make a quick stop at Abonia just Southwest of Babil
  15. -Make a long trek south, then east to Dwarf (Speak to King and loot the place, DO NOT BUY GEAR UNLESS YOU ARE EITHER RICH OR STRUGGLING TO SURVIVE ENCOUNTERS)
  16. -Return to Abonia -> Exit other side
  17. -Abonia -> Sylvan Cave [Note3: FROM THIS POINT ON, MAKE IT A POINT TO LOOT ALL CHESTS IF YOU HAVEN'T BEEN DOING SO. MANY OF THESE CHESTS CONTAIN GOOD, UNIQUE GEAR THAT CAN SERVE YOU FOR QUITE SOME TIME] (Defeat Calbrena, acquire Chip1)
  18. -Return to Dwarf (Speak to King, obtain Airship)
  19. [Note4: The entire gameworld, minus the moon, is now open to you. If you lose your Airship, you can pay an NPC in almost any town 1000g to warp it outside for you.]
  20. -Dwarf -> Kokkol's Smithy -> Tomra (Fill out your warp lists, guys)
  21. -Sealed Cave (Defeat Demon Wall) OR Cave to Monster Town (Defeat Asura, then Leviathan)
  22. -Return to Overworld -> Giant of Babil (Defeat Four Fiends refight, then CPU)
  23. -You should now have all four Chips. Go to Abonia, and find the NPC who will repair them.
  24. -Return to Overworld, and locate the Lunar Whale. Take the Whale and go to the Moon
  25. -Welcome to the Moon! It is -strongly- advised you get a party here, unless you powerlevelled to 75+
  26. -Moon -> Namingway's Cave (Stock up) -> Lunar Palace
  27. -Lunar Palace -> Subterrane -> Lunar Core -> THE FINAL BATTLE
  28. ===PART THREE===
  29. This part is composed of miscellaneous odds & ends that are typically not required to "complete" the main path of the game, but you may find it rewarding to pursue these sidequests
  30.
  31. -Tails
  32. Many late-game monsters (just about every dragon, in particular) drop their Tail. These tails can be traded to some well-hidden NPCs for very powerful equipment. It is recommended you hunt some down, but it is very grindy. This is the only way to obtain the ultimate weapons for most, if not all classes. Doing this will also gain you some EXP on your way to Lv.99.
  33.
  34. -Tower of Babil
  35. You can encounter Golbez here, and defeating him earns you the Black Knight class. He is decently strong, so it may be recommended you skip him until making some progress through the Underworld. It is a cross between a Dark Knight and Black Twin, though with a much smaller pool of Black Magic to draw from, they make up for it by being tanky, having good physical offense, and MP-draining normals.
  36.
  37. -Cactaur Island
  38. In a corner of the Overworld is Cactaur Island. It is only accessible via Airship. You will only encounter Cactaurs there.They are very rich in EXP and drop the most powerful arrow in the game if I'm remembering correctly. Rarely, you can run into the Jumbo Cactaur, which is very strong, and defeating it unlocks the Hunter class. Hunters are back-row fighters who basically exist to do damage and nothing else.
  39.
  40. -Lair of the Dragon
  41. This dungeon is located on the Moon, and it is very strongly advised you take a competent group with you, as the encounters are equivalent to Lunar Subterrane + Behemoths. At the end, you will encounter Bahamut, the strongest Summon in the game. Defeat him, and Young Callers & Mature Callers gain the ability to summon him through Call/Summon. You will -also- obtain a Scale, which can be traded to an NPC in Monster Town for a strong piece of equipment based on class.
  42. ===PART FOUR===
  43. Post-game stuff. Absolutely none of this is ever required, or even expected of you. The only rewards at this point are strictly bonuses for min-maxing, cosmetic, or additional class unlocks.
  44.
  45. It is expected that you are bringing along a full, well-rounded party of Lv.99 characters that have all obtained stronger than store-bought gear if you're attempting any of the following sidequests.
  46.
  47. -Gilgamesh
  48. On a boat in the middle of the ocean, Gilgamesh awaits you. He is an absolute MOTHERFUCKER of a battle and Holy Knight tweaks him on an hourly basis to be stronger/weaker. Here are the potential rewards:
  49. He carries a special item that, along with maximum money, is required to unlock the Time Mage class
  50. Defeating him earns you the Blue Mage class
  51. Defeating him earns you ONE CHANCE to upload a custom icon (character sprite + portrait). If you log-off, get disconnected, or otherwise close the game, you lose the ability and have to fight him again.
  52.
  53. -Shrine Dungeon
  54. The Shrine Dungeon is located at the top of Mount Ordeals. Enter the small room where Cecil became a Paladin and walk through the upper wall. The encounters here are the toughest in the game, but there are some top-class equipment and accessories to be found. An NPC located somewhere in here unlocks the Red Mage class for you, and in addition, Archimus, another post-game superboss is also found here. I do not yet know what the reward for defeating him is.
  55.
  56. -Slot machine!
  57. In Toroia, there's a hidden staircase in the Pub that takes you to a slot machine you can play for money. You can obtain the Gambler class by getting 777. This isn't exactly post-game material, as you can do it as soon as you arrive in this town, but it may take a whole lot of money if you covet the reward.
  58.
  59. For those attempting to find the last 3 engineer tools, they're tier 4 drops from enemies on the moon. They're all dropped by different types of flan monsters.
  60. Debilitator - Tofu
  61. Air Anchor - Pudding
  62. Chainsaw - Slime
