DoctorWhooves' Interview With Omnicide

DoctorWhooves (IR): Ohai, you're my interviewee. Let's get started! How did you find Kongregate?

Omnicide (IE): Hey :) Well, I loved flash games and animation for a long time, and used to visit newgrounds a lot for about three years. But one time I stumbled upon a game which was sponsored by Kong and it advertised badges as well. I thought: "I can play AND get experience through badges, not only rate things?" and made a Kongregate account.

DoctorWhooves (IR): Interesting story. Now onto the next question. How did you choose your username?

Omnicide (IE): I love the prefix "Omni-" - had quite a few nicknames starting with it before – Omni[XYZ], Omnify, Omniarch. But there was one time when I was in a car and I had no internet on my old cellphone to make the ride interesting. But there was a dictionary on it, so I decided to brush up my english knowledge, and after some time browsing decided to check out words starting with the prefix I used so much, found the word "Omnicide" and fell in love with it. Since then I’ve been using it as my main nick, sometimes switching it for "Omnify" or "ToxicBite".

DoctorWhooves (IR): Indeed, "omnicide" is an extraordinary word. Who’s that in your avatar?

Omnicide (IE): That is Yuuki Kei, from "Moyashimon". I haven't read/watched it, due to the focus on agriculture ( The title translates as "Agriculture Stories" ) not being the most appealing to me, but I like this character nevertheless. :)

DoctorWhooves (IR): Mhm, I don’t particularly enjoy anime/manga about agriculture either. What languages do you speak?

Omnicide (IE): Fluently – russian and english. I've been also learning hungarian for arounf 8 years, but still can't even say that I speak it. It's just too hard, plus I don't get practice at all, being in a mostly international environment in the university and going out with russian-speaking friends.

DoctorWhooves (IR): Awesome! I've been trying to learn another language, but I'm not doing very well. Anyway, what's your favorite thing about Kongregate?

Omnicide (IE): Community, I guess. I loved talking in the russian chat, "Московский Кремль", 'been doing it for 3 years. The best part about it is that there are still some people from all the way back in 2008, when I have just joined. And now I've moved into the forums, which I find quite enjoyable. Other then that – badges/experience/levels. This system sets goals and enlarges my internet self-esteem :D

DoctorWhooves (IR): Eeyup, the community is awesome. I heard you watch My Little Pony?

Omnicide (IE): I watched 12 episodes and stopped at that. Always want to finish it, but then completely forget about it. I've been a fan of Cartoon Network, Nickolodeon and Fox Kids for a long time, so I really enjoyed watching MLP, as it is really well-made :)

DoctorWhooves (IR): Would you consider yourself a brony?

Omnicide (IE): I did consider myself one at first, but now I think that I don't really feel any special attachment to the show. I'm somewhere in-between being a brony and neutral, I guess :)

DoctorWhooves (IR): Ah, okay. Is there anything else you want to add to this interview?
