- The steps for those wishing to learn the Loralaria without joining the
- guild are as follows:
- (1) The Applicant must be of good standing in Hallifax as defined by the
- following
- (a) Be ranked a Mistress, Master, or above
- (b) Be judged to be in good standing by a member of the Conductorate
- (2) The Applicant must submit an application to a member of the
- Conductorate. The application should include the following
- (a) The Applicant's name
- (b) The Applicant's achievements as a citizen of Hallifax
- (c) The Applicant's reasons for wishing to learn the Loralaria
- (d) The Applicant's reasons for declining membership in the Symphonium
- (e) A sample 9-stanza song
- Note: The application will be posted to the Symphonium newsboards for
- four months to allow the guild's voices to be heard.
- (3) Assuming no objections are raised to the application within the
- four-month period, the Applicant will be interviewed by a member of the
- Conductorate (who may or may not be the same person who processed the
- application) on the following
- topics
- (a) "On Perfection" by Llesvelt Shevat
- Note: The Applicant should read the book prior to the interview. The
- interviewer may wish to ask similar questions as at an Abecedarian
- Evaluation.
- (b) The Symphonium's expectations of Decorum
- Note: Particular attention should be paid to Article II.iv
- The Interviewer should offer a brief discussion of the voice of Crys and
- Jilai Clarramore during the interview.
- Note: The other members of the Conductorate should be informed of the
- interview, and have a one-month period in which to discuss the
- interview, and consider how best to correct any flaws the applicant may
- have in their understanding of the Symphonium and the Loralaria.
- (4) Assuming no objections are raised at the interview or during the
- month following, the Applicant should complete a scholarly article or
- literary work of interest to the Symphonium directly to the Symphonium.
- A member of the Conductorate must approve of your contribution. Possible
- topics include
- (a) The Voice
- (b) Studies of crystalline vibrations as they relate to sound
- (c) Explorations of the Higher Emotions
- Those wishing for the requirement of a scholarly contribution to be
- waived may contribute 500,000 gold to the Symphonium's bank account.
- Should any member of the Conductorate object at any part of the
- application, the applicant may not progress until that member's
- objections are removed.
- Any misuse of the Loralaria will be met with the swift revokation of the
- knowledge of the Song.
