  1. [20:32] <Neph-GM> It is the first night the pilots are spending in Elysium. Well, the first night for most of them.
  2. [20:32] <Neph-GM> All is stillness in the dark room, except for the rythmic breathing of the lone person within it. Abraham Campbell, pilot of Unit 03, sleeps peacefully... that is, until his breathing stops for a second. Then two and three, and almost thirty pass before he wakes up with a gasp.
  3. [20:33] * Abraham bolts up in bed, eyes darting around as he grabs a corner of his bedsheets and wipes sweat from his brow.
  4. [20:35] <Neph-GM> As his eyes adjust to take in what little light filters from the window, the teenager can tell it's still the middle of the night.
  5. [20:36] <Abraham> >swings his legs over the side of the bed, stumbles in the dark too the bathroom.
  6. [20:40] <Neph-GM> As he reaches the room's door and turns the handle, out of the edge of his senses the boy hears a noise, almost like a voice...
  7. [20:41] <Neph-GM> "...unstable..."
  8. [20:42] * Abraham gropes for a nearby lightswitch, if he finds one flicks it.
  9. [20:43] <Neph-GM> The now illuminated room stands just as it was before the light turned off hours ago.
  10. [20:44] * Abraham scans the main room from the hallway, checking to make sure that his guests are here, and no one else.
  11. [20:46] * Adrielle (~Adrielle@1E8D667F.801525A1.1849FF17.IP) has joined #ThanatosIC
  12. [20:46] <Neph-GM> The other teens sleep peacefully on the sofa. Lianne is slightly bother by the light, but merely rolls over.
  13. [20:49] <Neph-GM> Katie, the heavier teenaged girl, is nowhere to be seem. She's likely in the other bedroom.
  14. [20:51] * Abraham is satisfied theres nobody with a hatchet in eyesight, flicks the light off and continues to the bathroom to take a whizz.
  15. [20:54] <Neph-GM> The door to the bathroom opens with a low screech that sounds almost like...
  16. [20:54] <Neph-GM> "...find it..."
  17. [20:55] * Abraham flicks the bathoom light on, a bit paranoid...pulls the shower curtain back.
  18. [20:56] <Neph-GM> There's nothing in the shower but a shampoo bottle and a bar of soap with blonde hairs on it.
  19. [20:57] <Abraham> *does his business, flicks the lights off and makes his way back to bed*
  20. [20:57] * Abraham
  21. [20:57] * Abraham does his business, flicks the lights off and makes his way back to bed
  22. [21:00] <Neph-GM> As the boy reaches for the door to his room, he spots something... or someone outside the window, in the veranda.
  23. [21:00] <Neph-GM> A shadow against the soft light coming from the artifical sky of the geofront.
  24. [21:01] * Abraham REALLY wishes they'd let him keep a handgun in the apartment...creeps over to take a look.
  25. [21:03] <Neph-GM> Almost pressing against the glass, Abraham can tell that the figure is a person, female. Her back is turned against him.
  26. [21:04] * Abraham stops near the glass door, hand going for the handle but...apprehensive.
  27. [21:07] * Abraham decides to not open the door, instead lightly taps on the glass.
  28. [21:07] <Neph-GM> The figure remains standing in place, a skirt gently swaying against an unseen breeze.
  29. [21:12] * Abraham taps again, looking past her to the landscape outside in case anythings up.
  30. [21:15] <Neph-GM> The landscape is as it always is at night: soft blue searchlights iluminating the cyclopean main shaft, which seems to hold aloft the the roof of the geofront, that dark expanse with twinkling, artificial stars.
  31. [21:16] <Neph-GM> The figure remains in place, either ignoring or unable to hear the tapping.
  32. [21:18] <Neph-GM> Abraham's ears are ringing, like all the blood in his body were flowing to his head.
  33. [21:19] * Abraham holds his head, stumbling back into his chair.
  34. [21:20] <Neph-GM> "...open..."
  35. [21:20] <Neph-GM> The ringing stops.
  36. [21:21] * Abraham gets back up, walks to the veranda and opens the door.
  37. [21:21] <Neph-GM> The figure is gone.
  38. [21:22] * Abraham steps out onto the veranda.
  39. [21:25] <Neph-GM> The veranda is empty. The city is quiet. The only thing Abraham can hear is the sound of his breathing, and the beating of his heart. But there's a... lack here. The feeling that someone was here. That someone is still here.
  40. [21:27] <Neph-GM> A soft breeze hits him. Warm. Like a breath to the back of his neck.
  41. [21:27] <Abraham> "Hello."
  42. [21:28] * Abraham says with a wavering voice and dry lips...once again, wishing they let him keep firearms.
  43. [21:29] <Neph-GM> The only response is a deafening silence.
  44. [21:30] <Abraham> "I-it's a little early to be skulking around..."
  45. [21:30] * Abraham attempts to maintain his facade of control and is failing.
  46. [21:33] <Neph-GM> Again, there's no response but the-
  47. [21:33] <Neph-GM> "...no..."
  48. [21:35] <Abraham> "...Yes?"
  49. [21:36] * Abraham is honestly considering jumping off the veranda, grabbing the bottom of it and swinging into the apartment below.
  50. [21:37] * Abraham then gives this some thought, honestly worst comes to worst this bitch can go over the railing...
  51. [21:39] * Abraham slowly turns around, his body first then his head.
  52. [21:41] <Neph-GM> There's no one behind him. The balcony door is closed.
  53. [21:42] * Abraham takes a look around one more time before heading back inside and locking the door behind him.
  54. [21:43] <Neph-GM> Upon re-entering the apartment, the boy notices that as usual there's no one here. Which is extremly odd given that, unlike usual, he has guests.
  55. [21:45] * Abraham now wishes he at least had kitchen utensils like knives and rolling pins...then again, that means neither are in the apartment, which may be a blessing.
  56. [21:45] <Neph-GM> The ringing returns. It's a heavy feeling, like the air itself were pressing in against him.
  57. [21:46] * Abraham is backed against the glass door, sliding down it until he's sitting on the floor cradling his head in his hands.
  58. [21:47] <Neph-GM> There's tapping on the glass behind his back, and a shadow behind his own cast against the light.
  59. [21:47] * Abraham turns around, looking outside with one eye while the other is covered by his hand.
  60. [21:49] <Neph-GM> The figure is back outside, looking out towards the fake sky like when he first saw it. Only this time, there's... singing. A nursery rhyme that he knows but has no memory of ever hearing.
  61. [21:50] * Abraham opens the door quickly, falling back without anything to hold him up...
  62. [21:54] <Neph-GM> The figure remains in place, but the singing stops, replaced by a scrapping sound. Or was that the sound all along? There's still something mellodic about it... the grinding of metal against metal, screeching, coming from the figure. Why is it soothing? Is it soothing?
  63. [21:54] <Neph-GM> It shouldn't be.
  64. [21:54] <Neph-GM> *grind*
  65. [21:54] <Neph-GM> *grind*
  66. [21:54] <Neph-GM> *grind*

  68. [21:55] * Unknown_Girl (~Nephilm@29FD604E.B5C54360.A073A89C.IP) has joined #ThanatosIC
  69. [21:55] <Neph-GM> "..."
  70. [21:55] <Unknown_Girl> "..."
  71. [21:56] * Abraham pants as he grabs her by the ankle, looking up.
  72. [21:56] <Abraham> "Wh-...who are you?"
  73. [21:58] <Unknown_Girl> "...I..."
  74. [21:58] <Neph-GM> The girl's arm drops to the side. In her hand there's a knife, gleaming against the light.
  75. [21:58] <Unknown_Girl> "...am Death..."
  76. [21:59] <Abraham> "You're a little early, aren't you?"
  77. [21:59] * Abraham is confused by the sheer lunacy of such a statement, some of his fear dissapating.
  78. [22:01] <Neph-GM> The girl begins to grind the blade against the metal railing.
  79. [22:01] <Neph-GM> *grind*
  80. [22:01] <Neph-GM> *grind*
  81. [22:01] <Neph-GM> *grind*
  82. [22:01] <Abraham> "And...what business does death have."
  83. [22:01] <Abraham> "Darkening my...veranda, as it were?"
  84. [22:01] <Neph-GM> *gri-
  85. [22:02] <Unknown_Girl> "...I am watching..."
  86. [22:02] <Abraham> "Watching...who?"
  87. [22:03] <Unknown_Girl> "...the Moon..."
  88. [22:03] <Unknown_Girl> "...isn't it beautiful tonight...?"
  89. [22:03] * Abraham twists his neck so he can see it as well.
  90. [22:03] <Abraham> "I know it's artificial, that kind of puts a damper on it's beauty."
  91. [22:04] <Abraham> '...Wait."
  92. [22:04] <Abraham> "When did they add a moon?"
  93. [22:05] <Neph-GM> The closest thing to a moon in the geofront is the light of Styx, but...
  94. [22:05] <Unknown_Girl> "...you can't see it... down here..."
  95. [22:06] <Abraham> "Of course not."
  96. [22:06] <Unknown_Girl> "...not with those eyes..."
  97. [22:06] <Neph-GM> *grind*
  98. [22:06] <Neph-GM> *grind*
  99. [22:06] <Abraham> "What."
  100. [22:06] <Neph-GM> *grind*
  101. [22:06] <Neph-GM> *grind*
  102. [22:06] <Abraham> "Whats wrong with my eyes?"
  103. [22:06] <Neph-GM> *griiiiiiiiiiiiiind*
  104. [22:07] <Neph-GM> The girl raises the knife, the light reflects off its mirror-like surface.
  105. [22:07] <Abraham> "Aww fuck."
  106. [22:08] <Unknown_Girl> "...do you want to see it?"
  107. [22:08] <Abraham> "The moon?"
  108. [22:08] <Unknown_Girl> "...Yes."
  109. [22:08] <Abraham> "Not really."
  110. [22:08] * Abraham tries to at least sit up.
  111. [22:08] <Abraham> "Why should I care about the moon? Hell, why should you?"
  112. [22:09] <Abraham> "You haven't even answered my question."
  113. [22:09] <Abraham> "Why does death darken my doorstep?"
  114. [22:09] <Neph-GM> The girl lowers her arm with mystifying grace.
  115. [22:09] <Unknown_Girl> "...because..."
  116. [22:12] * Abraham feels like he's regained some control of the situation, standing up now.
  117. [22:13] <Abraham> "Who are you here for?"
  118. [22:14] <Unknown_Girl> "...hmmm...?"
  119. [22:14] <Abraham> "You are death, what reason would you have here besides to claim a life?"
  120. [22:15] * Unknown_Girl sobs.
  121. [22:16] * Unknown_Girl sobs again.
  122. [22:17] <Abraham> "...You are not death."
  123. [22:17] <Abraham> "Who are you?"
  124. [22:17] <Unknown_Girl> "...who are you...?"
  125. [22:17] <Abraham> "Abraham."
  126. [22:18] <Unknown_Girl> "...zero...three...?"
  127. [22:19] <Abraham> "Designated pilot of evangelion 03, production model."
  128. [22:19] <Unknown_Girl> "...You shouldn't be here."
  129. [22:20] <Abraham> "Yes, I should. Where else could I go?"
  130. [22:21] <Unknown_Girl> "Out... there... with the others."
  131. [22:21] <Abraham> "If they want to leave, thats their business."
  132. [22:22] <Unknown_Girl> "...you will go..."
  133. [22:22] <Abraham> "No, I wont."
  134. [22:22] <Unknown_Girl> "...you will... he said... ah."
  135. [22:23] <Abraham> "Who said?"
  136. [22:23] <Unknown_Girl> "I found it."
  137. [22:23] <Abraham> "What?"
  138. [22:24] <Neph-GM> The girl raises her hand starts gently waving the knife in the air. She's no longer looking at the sky.
  139. [22:24] <Unknown_Girl> "Tonight's."
  140. [22:26] <Neph-GM> The girl leans against the railing, looking towards the direction of a nearby park.
  141. [22:26] * Abraham comes up next to her, looking into the park.
  142. [22:28] <Unknown_Girl> "Blood... blood... always more... 3 tonight."
  143. [22:28] <Abraham> "What, 3 people are gonna...die?"
  144. [22:29] <Unknown_Girl> "...no..."
  145. [22:30] <Abraham> "Then what?"
  146. [22:31] <Abraham> "Three more what?"
  147. [22:31] <Unknown_Girl> "..."
  148. [22:32] <Unknown_Girl> "...you..."
  149. [22:32] <Abraham> "Me what?"
  150. [22:33] <Neph-GM> The ringing in Abraham's ears increases, becoming deafening.
  151. [22:33] <Unknown_Girl> "...it's for you..."
  152. [22:33] <Unknown_Girl> "...so..."
  153. [22:34] * Unknown_Girl reverses the grip on the knife.
  154. [22:34] <Unknown_Girl> "...just you..."
  155. [22:35] <Neph-GM> The girl turns towards the boy.
  156. [22:36] <Neph-GM> She is...
  157. [22:39] <Neph-GM> Eyes are the windows to the soul. This mysticism reflects the nature of humanity who as sentient beings are inheritors of the wisdom of the fruit of life that first reached the planet in oposition to the glory of eternal life that began and ended with the coming of the one that grants wisdom yet it doesn't when what is reflected cannot possibly be comprehended by the limitations of the artificial death death death
  158. [22:39] <Neph-GM> death you are dead you will die you are already dead
  159. [22:41] <Neph-GM> And then there was a knife in Abraham's guts.
  160. [22:41] <Neph-GM> ======== END ============
