  1. Leonardo was feeling a bit sleepy and he decided that he would lay his head down on the couch whilst glaring at the ceiling. The conversation between Hauk's child - Lauren, was slightly bland and it didn't suit him at all; he really wished he woud be able to continue his alchemical studies. His thoughts began to make him drift off into a weary yet, necessary nap but unkowningly the child that he was suppose to be looking after decided to take the initiative to leave and go to her parent.
  2.
  3. After awhile, he returned from his daydreaming and decided that he would go see what happened in the lab after noticing that the child was gone, hoping that she and her father gone home. Approaching the lab, it was absent with everyone except for his mother - approaching her, his visage would reflect his boredom and weariness.
  4.
  5. " Mummy, what happened and where is everyone? I thought that girl, Lauren and her dad were still here... " he inquired out of curosity - one day his curosity was going to get him in trouble but for now, he didn't know any better.
  6. (Leonardo du Lac)
  7. What a pain in the fucking ass. What does a girl have to do to get a little bone marrow over here? Luckily or Charlie, the makeshift syringe had broken off from the actual needle in Hauk's butt and with it remained a small sample of his bone marrow. Enough for the potion, enough for a little inquest on his condition, but unfortunately not enough to conduct anything serious.
  8.
  9. The tube with the portion of marrow would be set with the rest of the ingredients on the table. Now everything was gathered and the hyped solution could finally be created. But a small break was warranted.
  10.
  11. Sitting peacefully on a chair before the central table for experimentation, Charlie craved something akin to tea or whatever substance that could ease the tension in her body. This was simply way too much for just simple ingredients, enough so to have her accumulate irrational rage over the pettiest of things.
  12.
  13. "Huh? Oh nothing important sweetie. It's all okay now. Wanna get mummy some hot tea, please?"
  14.
  15. She asked with her soft, motherly voice.
  16. (Charlie Avaline)
  17. Leonardo seemed to notice the irritation before, her expression changed but he didn't think much of it. If, his mother was to tell him that the world wasn't going to end whilst Atom was hovering above them - he would believe it because, he had confidence and trust which was unfathomably deep with his mum, which should be the same with most children when it comes to loving parents whilst they were growing up, he would nod his head.
  18.
  19. His mother requested that he got her tea but, the thing was... Leonardo had never seen his mother make tea nor has he ever tried to make tea, so he had no idea how to do so. His porcelain, jade-like visage began to glow a cherry-red out of embarassment - he never really focused when his mother was making him snacks because, he would be playing with his little sister or just daydreaming absentmindedly most of the time -
  20.
  21. "Mom, I don't know how to do that... " he spoke underneath his breath as he didn't want to say such a thing aloud.
  22. (Leonardo du Lac)
  23. "Oh, you don't?"
  24.
  25. Index and major fingers would come to rub her temple upon realizing the obvious. This wasn't going to be a very good day, at all. So tea was off the table as she had no interest in taking anymore breaks with everything now ready for manufacture. Standing up, the Avaline mother supervised the whole set of ingredients she deemed necessary for the upcoming potion.
  26.
  27. "Okay, bring that stool over and help me make this little potion. I'm going to need help."
  28.
  29. A slightly unamused tone and look. She didn't appear as motherly as usual, almost like she was fed up about something. Her energy levels were quite low, her enthusiasm most certainly gone. This just exhausted her, all this unnecessary extra effort. Life with only one hand most certainly didn't make anything easier for her.
  30.
  31. A jar containing a large tongue would be brought at the edge of the table. Stumped forearm wrapped around it and kept it pressed against her abdomen while her hand would extract the lid.
  32.
  33. "Get me that scalpel, please dear?"
  34. (Charlie Avaline)
  35. Leonardo had been cared and cultivated in the love and warmth of his mother, he could tell from a mile away it it was... lacking or absent which was certainly the case. Of course, he didn't understand that it was just fatigue from numerous other things that were occuring in her life but, he thought that it was due to his incompetence which made him look dejected and feel useless. He began to drift away, not dreaming but, thinking pessimisticly - he felt like rubbish, a simple task like making her tea was something deemed impossible for him at the very moment due to his lack of intelligence and competence which made him feel quite useless. Of course, the derranged thoughts were most primitive but, the concept still remained.
  36.
  37. The one thing that drew him out of his thoughts was when his mother requested him to do something, enthusiastically, not in a jubilment manner though, he hurried to collect the scalpel for his mother's procedure. He would help his mother with the potion to show that he was at least competent in one department and further expand his horizon on the outlook of the world, that way he wouldn't have to feel such a way.
  38.
  39. ... Passing the scalpel to her in a short amount of time, he would wait for further orders or requests to be issued to him.
  40. (Leonardo du Lac)
  41. With the lid off, one could smell a particularly strong stench coming from it. It didn't smell rotten, no, it was certainly well preserved. Tweezers were used to pull it out and lay it flat onto the small towel set a couple of centimeters away. The tongue was certainly larger than Charli's forearm and just about as long as the thing.
  42.
  43. The scalpel would be accepted, and with grace, the blade would be approached toward the very center of the massive set of muscles. At the very central line, the thin sharp blade would start to cut through as if it were butter, but only for a second. Charlie was simply testing if the tool was still in good condition or not.
  44.
  45. "Tell me Leo, do you know where this tongue comes from?"
  46.
  47. She asked, her eyes remaining fixed onto the organ. It certainly wasn't human, and the smell could easily be associated to the marshlands. But Leonardo wouldn't know it, as the only time he'd ever been to the cursed grounds would have been when he was no more than two days old.
  48.
  49. No blood or strange fluid would ooze out of the opened organ, it was completely bled out and cleansed. The mother of five would go on to cut downwards one the scalpel was set once more. She seemed to intend on cutting it in half.
  50. (Charlie Avaline)
  51. Leonardo continued to analyse the process of what his mother was doing; he only aimed to accumulate more knowledge and aid his mother in her experiments, if he was able to successfully help his mother and gain some knowledge from the materials and the numerous process regarding the alchemical fusion of ingredients to make a certain outcome and how formulas were created, which he already learnt how to do, he could be considered an Apprentice or Adept Alchemist.
  52.
  53. His mother seemed to open the vial which released a strong stench yet, it was something that wasn't unpleasent nor pleasent and it wasn't identifiable - the young child hasn't smelt many things and it irritated him which was reflected on his visage, as his eyebrows seemed to come downwards and a frown would be adorned on his cute, childish visage. Yet, his annoyance was washed away when his mother posed a question to him which he contemplated about for a moment which was apparent when his cerulean-blue eyes diverted from the container to the ceiling for a few seconds.
  54.
  55. After a dozen seconds of contemplation, he would look at his mother before saying: " I think, we use tongues to talk. So, I think it comes from the mouth " he was hessitant, he didn't want to disappoint and he wasn't sure about his answer but, he remembers overhearing a conversation about tongue(s) but, it was a very long time ago and the focus wasn't on tongues but, he was slightly sure about the information - he was worried that he aligned the information about tongues incorrectly.
  56. (Leonardo du Lac)
  57. Somehow, she had slept through the previous madness that had been the labratory fo the Brakkacia household, and now magna was up and attem, ready to help mom do shit in her weird lab with her weird potions!
  58.
  59. Into the lab she would barge, happily bouncing along to reach her mother's side, going across the room and as per usual taking in all the sights with her big endearing serrated grin, jars and their contents being ogled by the little fishgirl with the bow in her hair.
  60.
  61. "Hi, mommy! Hi, Leo and Elly! What doing?" Her broken english would rasp out as she popped up next to her mother, curiousity engaging her as she stared inquisitively at whatever it was they were working on, her mouth already forming into an O shape.
  62.
  63. "Ale-cehm-ee?"
  64. (Magna)
  65. The tongue was split open and its thick insides could be seen. There wasn't actually much to see but Charlie knew what she was looking for. The scalpel could come to perform two cuts exactly from the sliced edge of one of the two pieces. Successfully making some sort of triangle of tongue flesh she specifically selected. A particular muscle was taken.
  66.
  67. She only needed a piece, one with enough nerves to fulfill the needs of the potion. Like the bone marrow would be what would guide the hormones in the gland to create blood and bone, the nerves and muscle would come to help create the musculature and the sensitive ends of the nerves within fingers and toes for instance. The tongue provided such a good basis for that.
  68.
  69. "Crellus mouth, to be exact. Big, ugly monsters in the marshlands! Dangerous too! But ... They tongues work very close to ours and are more reliable in terms of conservation than human tongues too! I need that to muscle tissue and sensitive nerves ..."
  70.
  71. The piece would be set in a separate flask while the split tongue would be set back into its original jar before being put away in a cupboard. By then, Magna had entered with her chirpy self.
  72.
  73. "Magna, sweetie! You wanna help with Alchemy? Take a stool and I'll give you and Leo and job!"
  74.
  75. A jar containing multiple small globe would be passed over toward Leonardo. Upon closer inspection, one would notice they were eyes of the hermit crabs they had searched for the day they had found Magna.
  76.
  77. "Okay! You two will have to take about ten each and crush them on the mortar and pestles in the drawer over there. Crush them good until they're all gooey, okay?"
  78. (Charlie Avaline)
  79. Leonardo noticed the enthusiastic child waddle towards both Charlie and Leonardo in a jubilent manner which made him smile, at least his adoptive sister was happy and he would put even more energy to make an example of how it should be done! He had been reserving his energy due to him feeling a bit sad and disappointed but, now that Magna was here - he was going to show even more enthusiasim and energy.
  80.
  81. As soon as Magna arrived, Charlie seemed to be optimistic and proposed a request, or a task for them to do which made him excited. To be apart of the potion making was something that he wanted to do, he could only help with collecting the ingredients but, now he was given a task regarding the actual preperation of an ingredient.
  82.
  83. Nodding his head, he would glance at Magna - nodding his head, he would then make his way to the Alchemical Cabinet, where all the family's tools relating to alchemy was placed. Taking a Mortar & Pestle, he would sit down on the stool and take a single eyeball out whilst placing it in the middle of the bowl.
  84.
  85. Taking the pestle, he would begin to place pressure on the eyeball until it was squeezed and he would begin to hit it in an erratic manner - which was physically tasking on his unrefined physique but, noticing that a gooey pasture was begining to appear, he got excited and continued to smash down whilst placing another eyeball. He continued to do so for an extensive amount of time until he finished crushing 10; further, pounding and stirring to make sure that there wasn't as many bits and it was much more smoother yet, the viscous property of the goo would not change in the slightest.
  86. (Leonardo du Lac)
  87. "Oh! Okay!" A stool is grabbed, alongside the mortar and pestle-Her favorite job! Crushing things was lots and lots of fun, especially in little bowls and for alchemical reasons. The little fish would grab her share of eyeballs and plop a few in, already beginning to get into a little rhythm. In, squish, grind, next. In, squish, grind, next.
  88.
  89. It wasn't long until she was gaining on Leo's own amount, her tongue sticking out in sheer determination to crush those eyes as fast as she could, and as thoroughly-there would be little in the way of clumps and chunks in this solution, just a weird-colored paste. Nearly finished, she glanced to her mother and Leo.
  90.
  91. "...What is potion for, mommy?"
  92.
  93. She is the curious-est little eel, ever.
  94. (Magna Avaline)
  95. Passing these more mechanical tasks to her children who seemed more than happy to help was a good way to cut the woman some slack. Her eyes were tired and her body worn from the stress and general annoyance to the past unnecessary events that slowed her progress. Sitting herself on a stool, she'd glance over at the remaining ingredients.
  96.
  97. "So far so good, you two! When you're done, pour it all in the empty blue bowl over there!"
  98.
  99. She'd point toward the bowl that contained a little bit of normal water. There was nothing peculiar about it, it simply had a bit of water and would be used as a basis for the second part of the potion. However, Charlie's relaxation would come to a halt with this particular question was posed by Magna.
  100.
  101. "To fix this, sweetie."
  102.
  103. Her left forearm would lift itself up for Magna to see. The stump made it quite clear what needed to be fixed. And with this potion finished, they would be able to find a solution to it.
  104.
  105. After a little bit had passed, she'd stand and glance at the final ingredient that she hadn't touched, with the exception of the recently acquired marrow. It'd seem to be some sort of very small brain in a jar. It floated in the thick, strongly opaque liquid that preserved it.
  106. (Charlie Avaline)
  107. Leonardo definitely saw the determination and competition in her eyes - he would not lose to her whether it was knowledge in regards to alchemy or in practicality, he needs to continue to prove himself to his mother and beat Magna in any competition. He would squint his cerulean-blue eyes as he heard the next instructions given to them by his mother, he would walk towards the bowl with the Mortel.
  108.
  109. Pouring the contents in the Mortel which was a thick and viscuous liquid which seems to be stuck to the bottom; he would use pestel to make sure that all the liquid seemed to flow intothe bowl. After, pouring out the contents of his mortel - he would glance back at his 'rival' Magna before, looking at his mother - awaiting for their next instructions.
  110.
  111. Albeit, when Charlie was showing her forearm - a sad feeling seemed to overwhelm him but, he kept quiet but the emotion was reflected on his countenance.
  112. (Leonardo du Lac)
  113. A few more grinding movements, and she sped past her brother to slide the contents of her mortar straight into the bowl, a humming tune being emitted through her sweet, soothing vocal cords. Sirens all had some mastery of sound, and she was no exception, the little tune alone being sung wonderously.
  114.
  115. The kind-of-gross liquid was swished away, her stomach rumbling just a little.. It was meat, after all. But now she would turn to grin at her brother and apparently rival, smiling wide in fact. "We did it, Leo!"
  116.
  117. A glance to her mother, childish innoence and glee fruitful in her stare and heart. "What do now, mommy? Crush more eye?"
  118.
  119. Her obvious glee at the concept of crushing yet more delectable little meatbits was probably a bad sign?
  120. (Magna Avaline)
  121. They were truly a blessing weren't they? The redundant work was so happily performed by the little ones, it managed to turn the most menial of tasks into the most delightful moments of this experiment. Smiles and giggles would be given to her children as she witnessed their work in progess and how they seemed to be in competition against one another. As long as it didn't degnerate into a fight, she completely accepted it.
  122.
  123. "Just one second honey, I'm going to finish this and then we'll move on."
  124.
  125. The same scalpel from before was held and the brain-like organ was extracted from the jar and set on the same towel. A minuscule cut would be made on the already pronounced line in the center of the organ.
  126.
  127. "Now see, this is what we call a brain stem."
  128.
  129. Much smaller than a human's it was, barely the size of Magna's fist, let alone Charlie's.
  130.
  131. "A Stinnox's to be exact! Their brains are smaller than ours, but their brainstem is very strangely complex while being kind of like ours! It makes a good basis for the nerves as a whole."
  132.
  133. She explained, her hand reaching for a large, thick syringe similar to the one employed to gather bone marrow. Stuck into the laceration created by the scalpel, extraction of a peculiar fluid was made. A small tube would be filled and the brain would be quickly returned to the jar for preservation.
  134.
  135. "Alright ... Leo, get me the vial with the transparent liquid on your right. Be VERY CAREFUL! It's sulfuric acid ... Magna! Get me the flask with the blue juice you made with me the other day! We're going to finialize it!"
  136. (Charlie Avaline)
  137. Ella would of went back to her room, she would look over the events that transpired with Hauk and the others, her little child mind couldn't really understand and in the end she would shrug and decide that she perhaps would never understand and that was okay but she has spent some time laying on her bed and she would get up to teeter around the house.
  138.
  139. Looking for people she would make her way down to the lab where she bet her mother was at and opening the door she would see her mother as well as her other "Siblings" .... well at least Leo was there but the fish was there as well and she would just ignore the feeling.
  140.
  141. But with her mother's request to her brother and his lackluster response she would perhaps take it upon herself to take the vial, through carefully she would walk up to her mother with the vial outstretched towards her to take a good smile on her face.
  142.
  143. "Here I got it for you mommy~"
  144. (Ella du Lac)
  145. Leonardo would watch as his mother thoroughly explained the different ingredients after Magna and Leonardo poured the contents of their mortar into the bowl; he would approach back to the table whereas, his mother seemed to explain the ingredient and the properties that they held.
  146.
  147. They both seemed to be allocated different jobs but, due to his specialised memory - it seemed that he was capable of remembering the information but, to comprehend and process the information with the little wisdom and brain-power that Leonardo currently possessed was a tedious task and caused him to seem like he was daydreaming.
  148.
  149. Absentmindedly, it seemed the family was awaiting for him but, it seemed that Ella - his little sister completed the task that was given to him; Leonardo was feeling weary once more and decided that it would be the time, he should take his leave.
  150. (Leonardo du Lac)
  151. She would perk up at the sight of her sister, quickly rushing over to give her a big ol' clammy slimy awful Sirenian hug. She certainly warmed to her siblings fast, even if they hadn't really done the same to her. As soon as her mother has finished being the coolest mom ever and doing awesome alchemy science, and gave her her command, she would race off.
  152.
  153. Sliding up to the lovely flask containing the liquid she had helped her mother create, it's fine blue solution gorgeous to behold-it reflected beautifully in her vermillion optics, and it was grabbed with downright reverance. The slightest mistake and this would all be for naught.
  154.
  155. Slowly it is passed to her mother, eyes wide as saucers. She would not fail her mother like this!!
  156. (Magna Avaline)
  157. Leo's eccentric behavior would cause the mother of five to blink and remain motionless for a few seconds. Truly this child was quite the enigma at times, even for his own mother. Nonetheless, she was quite used to it and would easily be derived from the issue once Ella made her appearance. A lovely and warming smile would form on Charlie's lips.
  158.
  159. "Why thank you young lady! You wanna help Magna help me? I would be so happy if you did~"
  160.
  161. She chimed just as Magna would go in for a big hug on her more bitter sister. It prompted a snicker from the grown woman, but would fail to distract her for much longer. The blue fluid and the acid were gathered and set neatly with the rest of the ingredients. Now it was time to mix everything up with the blue solution as the bonding agent that would infuse itself into them and allow the safe mixture with the sacred water.
  162.
  163. First, the spinal fluid from the stinnox would be added to the bowl full of mushed crab eyes. Almost immediately after, Charlie would pour the entirety of the blue fluid into the same bowl. But it wasn't over yet. Next step would be to add the piece of tongue from the crellus. It wasn't turned into a more liquid-like substance, making it harder to handle than most. Hence the acid.
  164.
  165. The tongue was simply dropped into the solution and was left to float upon it. Charlie's blue eyes scanned the whole thing, reassuring herself that everything had been going as intended. Now, for the acid. A few drops would be dumped directly onto the piece of the tongue. Steam would emit from the transformation, slowly decomposing the organ and tearing it apart. Then, she'd sprinkle the deadly fluid all over her project, causing the whole liquid to release an intense amount of steam and heat.
  166.
  167. "Okay! Magna, you remember how to stir, right? Here you gotta do it fast!"
  168.
  169. She intructed her daughter with much enthusiasm. A wooden spoon would be trusted to the fish girl.
  170.
  171. "And Ella, can you just click the small button under the cauldron? Don't touch anything else, dear!"
  172.
  173. She'd ask of her younger one, though she'd watch over her every action, making sure no accident would occur.
  174.
  175. "When the liquid stops to steam and turns a bit green, you will add a few drops of the red liquid, okay Magna?"
  176.
  177. She'd be referring to the bone marrow.
  178. (Charlie Avaline)
  179. Ella would see Magna approaching and she would hurriedly move out of the way of the hug and seemly she has been not waiting on her grandpa as she would place her hand around the core of Magna and a small bubble was made, its pop was nothing of damage but would push Magna away from her with Ella giving a certain. "EWWW Sticky fish!" at the same time as she did so.
  180.
  181. Though with that hijinks out of the way it seems her mother wanted her to do something as she would look at the cauldron and towards the button instructed... there were many knobs and levers but only one button, it was quite odd and a tad lucky that there was only one or the poor tot may of hit the wrong one but she would press the button with quite the enthusiasm as if she expected something to magically happen as she did...
  182.
  183. Though it seems she was not talking about the minor bit of water magic she just manifested in front of her mother as well as perhaps the use of it on her adopted relative... She would of moved on and smiling as the she brings her finger after toggling the button.
  184. (Ella du Lac)
  185. Hmph.
  186.
  187. With her hug completely blocked, she would give Elly a big-eyed sad stare. Why ew? Why not yay? Why not hooray for sticky fish?! Such a rude way to greet your sibling! But whatever. She'd just ignore the fact that her sister was a total douche.
  188.
  189. Onwards, to helping mom one more time!
  190.
  191. Stirring began swiftly, and with great fury. No mercy was given to the offending liquid or its.. Lovely smell. Quite frankly, she prefered delicious-smelling seawater. Oh, and guts, they smelled great! Distantly, her stomach grumbled. Needed to eat later! Oh well. Her focus needed to remain solely on the process of making this damn potion for mom so she could have a hand and not a silly stump.
  192.
  193. Soon stirring would be finished, and now came the moment of truth... She gently put a few drops of the marrow-Weird stuff, thank every god in Eternia that she didn't know where it came from-would be added.
  194.
  195. The reaction was sure to be fun.
  196. (Magna Avaline)
  197. Charlie would frown upon noticing just how nasty her youngest would be toward the new member of the family. Clearly the mommy wasn't going to let this pass.
  198.
  199. "Ella. Say you're sorry. You do not call your sister like that! And do NOT use the bubbles in the house!"
  200.
  201. Her voice was strongly authoritarian witht he goal to intimidate. There was no holding back because she was her kid either, there was no way Charlie was going to let her own daughter degenerate into a spoiled brat with an attitude. But with warnings came also words of encouragement as she noticed Magna doing quite the good job with her stirring.
  202.
  203. "Good job sweetie! Keep at it!"
  204.
  205. Her eyes should shift toward Ella most of the time however, as she was the one with the one at risk right now. Though risk could be said lightly, the worst would be a light burn on her fingers. But nothing bad actually happened and the task was fulfilled.
  206.
  207. "You too Ella, good!"
  208.
  209. By taking her eyes off Magna during the process of adding the marrow, she'd allow for a bad mistake to happen. While the fluid was certainly greener, it wasn't exactly ready yet and Charlie wouldn't intervene on time. The drops would cause a sudden explosion of steam that would be quite overhwleming for the little fish. Nothing fatal, but quite the disturbing thing.
  210.
  211. "Ahhhh! Careful sweetie! You have to wait a little more before adding it, okay?"
  212.
  213. Her hand would rest upon Magna's shoulder. What was Charlie doing? Taking a break. Very little was left to do other than stirring and adding things together. The gland's essence would be next and finally, bonding process with the sacred water.
  214. (Charlie Avaline)
  215. Ella's face would get nothing but a pout and what she got, she gave to her mother as well as her adopted sister as she would be scolded, not even praised from her first use of magics just {"Bluh no bubbles in the house."} A look of difance is on the youngster's face.
  216.
  217. "But it would be a lie if I said she wasn't sticky! I don't want to be sticky like she is so she should respect my want to not to!"
  218.
  219. She pressed the button and whatever as her mother was changing tones and because of it Ella rather leave now, leaving the experiment or whatever her mother was crafting to herself she would stand to leave, in fact that was the first bubble she created and perhaps it was because of the mucus off Magna gave her a little boost but it made her want to get up with training again.
  220.
  221. "Bye!" She would just say in haste as she would make her way to the door without much stopping her......
  222.
  223. (Ella du Lac)
  224. She'd try to just not focus on her mom getting upset at her douchebag-ass sister calling her sticky. She wasn't sticky! She was slimy! And it barely even got all over other things, hmph! Not like she could do anything about it anyway, her skin just did that... If only Elly knew what it was like, to swim and be a sickass fish. To be one of Yama's beloved. To be sirenian.
  225.
  226. FocusinAUAAAYNGG
  227.
  228. "Waaaah," A shout-cry. "H-hooot!" She would moan, fire definitely NOT her strong suit. In fact it was her opposite. Fuck fire. Fire hurt. People who used fire were lame. Lame fire users. Hmph.
  229.
  230. Her hair would be frizzled and pushed up, but she was fine. After a moment of sniffling and trying not to burst out into tears at her mistake, she would carry on swishing the acrid, awful-smelling liquid.
  231.
  232. Another few minutes of describing said liquid and how gross it is later, and finally-She places two more drops in, eyes wide and ready to cry yet again if it went wrong.
  233. (Magna Avaline)
  234. "Hmmm? Ella?"
  235.
  236. Charlie inquired as her daughter was leaving. That certainly wasn't what Charlie wanted at all. The mother would of course speak up.
  237.
  238. "Why are you leaving? We're going to mix everything up soon!"
  239.
  240. She chimed in the hopes to encourage her daughter to stay. Around that time, the flame under the cauldron would start to get stronger and finally be visible to those around. Soon, the water in the big hunk of metal would start to boil and eventually emit steam.
  241.
  242. As for the solution being mixed by Magna, once the marrow would be added, it would spread unnaturally quick throughout the whole fluid. In the end they'd end up with a darkred color. Charlie nodded to herself upon noticing this change and would go to reach for the vial containing the extracts of the newt gland she had gathered a while back.
  243.
  244. "Okay sweetie. I'm going to add this very slowly as you mix slowly too, okay? This will complete this part! And then we will be almost done!"
  245.
  246. The lid would be plopped out of the vial. Charlie was prepared to sprinkle the yellow, thick liquid into the somewhat unstable solution she and her daughter had frabricated.
  247.
  248. "Ella, if you're still here, mind getting me a couple of new wood spoons? Big ones. And maybe ... I'll show you how to make icecream later~"
  249. (Charlie Avaline)
  250. A resolute nod from the Siren, unafraid, and readied herself-mostly ignoring her rude little sister and her sudden disappearance. Oh well, more work for magna and mommy! She was obviously the Best Girl and everyone would come to realize that. Especially grandpa, who she hadn't met yet-But my oh my, she had heard so many good things!
  251.
  252. The owner of the house, the heroic older man who could fistfight a dragon, who commanded nature, who was a god of blood magic. She wanted to learn everything she could from him.
  253.
  254. She would stir-but not furiously this time, for once just going nice and slow. It was all method, now. Let mommy do all the scary hard parts that made stuff explode in her face... What a great mom!
  255.
  256. Slow, methodical, and waiting for her mother to drop that stuff like it was a rap album.
  257. (Magna Avaline)
  258. Following the careful stirring done by her well behaved and enthusiastic child, Charlie would prepare to sprinle the dynamic solution with the crucial piece of the puzzle: The newt gland's essence. It would contain all the magical properties the newt would employ to have such an outstanding limb regeneration while absorbing the specific cells used for such a method.
  259.
  260. Together with the various components of body parts added to this mix, the mixture they would end up having would be the perfect blueprint for the sacred water to perform its miracle. Ever detail, from bone, to blood, to muscle, to skin, to nerves and to even mana would be put into account here.
  261.
  262. The yellow ooze would drip down into the swirling liquid, slowly furing with it as Magna stirred without any rest. After a good five minutes, they would start to see results. The solution's coloring would become lighter and lighter until nearing an almost perfect white. It also seemed like the surface had clotted, becoming somewhat solid for reasons somewhat vague.
  263.
  264. But the strangest would be that, upon having her mother place her hand on the child's shoulder, one would notice how the solution would seem to be moving a little but it self. A little squirming here, shivering there. Very subtle, but immensely strange.
  265.
  266. "... Perfect. We did it! Now all we need ..."
  267.
  268. Her eyes would peer over toward Asena's sacred water. Sealed in a crystalized flask provided by her very own father. Reaching over to it, it'd be grasped with care.
  269.
  270. "Alright sweetie. Get ready, I'm about to finish this potion! Only two more steps and we can finally relax!"
  271.
  272. She'd beam at the siren. The Avaline walked over to the cauldron, gesturing her little one to follower her.
  273.
  274. "Just put the bowl on the side there, I'll handle this sweetie."
  275. (Charlie Avaline)
  276. Her eyes are wide as each step is preformed marvellously, like it was an artform. Truly, her mother was the grand alchemist-And she was her prized assistant! It felt good to be appreciated for her help, even if she knew it was all simple tasks. Who cares, she's just glad to have something to do on land!
  277.
  278. Usually she spent all her land-time just sitting around the house and trying to work out this 'reading' shit, and napping. In the water, she could play, and look for fishies, and spook strangers by popping out and grinning! Truly, the best activity.
  279.
  280. A bowl is grabbed and given to her mother, giddy. She couldn't wait for her mother to lift her up with both hands, to feel a big proper hug like the ones she gave her!
  281.
  282. Her heart was so pure.
  283. (Magna Avaline)
  284. Finally, the moment of truth. A few more steps were required to finally finish this. The first one was to start now. A smile of approval was given to the young one as the bowl was graciously accepted. Now, Charlie waited abit longer until the boiling water would reach a certain threshold; a specific level of heat was required. Nearing the 100 degrees celcius, the fire was kept at that level. A little too hot and the potion woudl fail entirely.
  285.
  286. Now, with calculated strength and movement, the fluid they had worked hard to create would be poured into the boiling water. The now thick and white fluid would meet with the water, creating little to no reaction at all! Obviously fusing it with water would do very little, but nonetheless, mother Avaline would start mixing with the spare wooden spoon.
  287.
  288. It didn't last too long, however, as it was already time. Asean's holy water was going to be used. The key ingredient to all of this, and a very sensitive one to utilize. It was within a strong flask, and it would stay there until the very last second.
  289.
  290. "Alright sweetie, get ready for the final step!"
  291.
  292. She'd warn her child before a small stone in her pocket would be extracted and displayed onto her palm. It was Magnus' alchemist stone, something that rarely saw the light of day, but mandatory to get these types of projects done. The little rock would be steadily placed on the lid of the flask.
  293.
  294. Meanwhile, as the hand remained empty after setting the rock, a strange occultic influence would seem to be coating it. Magna could definitely feel it, and after a brief moment, could smell a slight burning smell. Charlie's palm was fuming, cooking. Darkness magic would come to cave a runic circle onto that said palm.
  295.
  296. "Don't worry, it's almost done!"
  297.
  298. Now it was definitely time. The flask would be grasped once more, but from its bottom. Palm held flat, Charlie focused. The rune on her hand would sap into her mana circuits and start releasing a large amount of mana. The Alchemist stone would be doing the exact same. Both were receiving ends of mana and would expose the sacred water to a tremendous amount of power. It was being refined, but at the cost of tiring the Avaline quite a bit.
  299.
  300. A good ten minutes were used up, constantly pouring mana to supercharge the water and unlock its full potential. It was ready.
  301.
  302. The water was being entirely pouring into the solution as if it were typical water. Not a drop would be missed, all of it fused with the strange fluid. Needless to say, a powerful, blue explosion of steam would erupt. It was a success! Well, for now at least. Charlie rushed to stir the whole thing with a calm pace. The abundance of mana charged steam kept going for at least two whole minutes, leaving the Avaline with minor burns on her hands and cheeks, but it'd eventually stop.
  303.
  304. A gravity rune with a complex command would continue the stirring for Charlie as she'd finally sit back down on her stool, exhausted.
  305.
  306. "Heh ... We did it, sweetie ..."
  307. (Charlie Avaline)
