  1. I adored Fee from the very instant I laid eyes on her. The way those warm orange eyes peeked out at me curiously from that tiny ball of yellow fluff, I knew immediately that this little Fennekin was the one for me. When I first picked her up at the Lab and officially signed the papers, I decided to bundle the little fox up in my jacket rather than confine her to a Pokeball. Every moment of getting to bond counted. She was my first ever Pokemon so I'd have to cherish her, right?

  3. Fee and I became fast friends, exploring the forests until dark before returning home to curl before the fireplace, exhausted from our daily adventures. Such was the life of a stay-at-home Pokemon trainer. I was a couple years too old to be setting off on a journey across Regions, so this laid-back atmosphere was perfect for me.

  5. On one cool Fall morning, my partner was bathed in a pure white glow from nose to tail tip—her legs grew, making her taller, her tufted ear fur grew longer; and a magical stick was now tucked into her bushy tail. Evolution. She was a Braixen now, about perhaps the biggest difference was that instead of standing upon four legs, Fee stood upon two. It was a bit strange, but I quickly adjusted to the notion of my beloved Pokemon growing stronger thanks to all of our work during training. Having functional paws even allowed her to help with errands now and then, although she was a bit clumsy about it she was eager to assist in any way.

  7. However, I quickly began to notice something. For some reason this transformation into a new form seemed to have made her a lot more... clingy. As a Fennekin, she'd been fiercely independent, eager to race into battle whenever we ventured into the wild to train. She seemed so independent, so eager to explore the wide open world. Now, Fee would trail about the house after me almost everywhere I went. At first I found it cute, but the novelty of having a fox-shaped shadow soon wore off.

  9. "God, will you just leave me alone for five minutes?" I finally snapped one day in particular, where she'd been getting under my feet. "Brai!" the fox Pokemon yelped, my voice clearly catching her off guard, her stick being sent clattering to the polished wooden floor. Fee stared at me in stunned silence, her orange eyes wide like saucers. For some reason, her response only fuelled my anger—I was never usually the type to raise my voice. It just pissed me off so bad that I barely got a moment to myself.
